Construction and Application of An Interdisciplinary Team Teaching Model for Foreign-Related Nursing English in Higher Vocational Colleges from the Perspective of Ecolinguistics

Under the background of globalization,there are severe challenges in the cultivation of the professional skills of nursing staff,especially the English skills of foreign-related nursing,which has become an important part of the training of nursing talents.At present,most English teaching of foreign-related nursing in higher vocational colleges follows the traditional grammar teaching model.However,as most of the teaching staff for medical English are English teachers who have limited nursing professional knowledge,the industry characteristics of medical English are not fully demonstrated in the teaching process,and the lack of practicality inevitably reduces the quality of medical English teaching.Therefore,the traditional nursing English teaching model in higher vocational colleges can no longer meet the actual teaching needs.There is an urgent need to implement an interdisciplinary team teaching model that completely fits the industry environment of foreign-related nursing English and apply it flexibly to improve the quality of foreign-related nursing English teaching in higher vocational colleges,and lay a solid foundation for professional practice of nursing staff.Based on the perspective of ecolinguistics,this article explores the application strategies of the interdisciplinary team teaching model for foreign-related nursing English in higher vocational colleges,with the view to provide guidelines for the actual teaching of foreign-related nursing English.

A Pragmatic Study on Non-aggressive Doctor-patient Conflict Talk-From the Ecolinguistic Perspective

Doctor-patient relationship is a very important relationship between doctor and patient and patient’s family member.In interpersonal communication,non-aggressive discourse often leads to conflicting response.It is the most common doctor–patient relationship between doctor and patient.There are limited studies on non-aggressive conflicting response.Language used is the most important basis in conflicting response to non-aggressive discourse.Language and culture are broad and diverse.Different speech methods and language content lead to different response.Based on this,this paper explains response to non-aggressive conflict talk between doctor and patient in the perspective of ecolinguistics,to provide reference.

Referential Studies of the Fusion Between Linguistics and Ecology

The fusion of linguistics and ecology leads to either ecolinguistics or linguistic ecology.The Haugenian approach and the Hallidayan approach are generally regarded by European,American and Chinese scholars as two paradigms of ecolinguistics research.In Russia,some scholars share the same view while most do not.To sum up,there are five different viewpoints regarding the disciplines formed by the fusion of linguistics and ecology.They are the identical view,the parallel view,the inclusive&identical view,the inclusive&parallel view,and the parallel&overlapping view.This paper studies these different viewpoints from the perspectives of the discipline’s foundation,research paradigm,research objective,task,content and terminological system and concludes that the combination of ecology and linguistics can produce“linguistic ecology”and“ecolinguistics”,or“ecology+linguistics”.

A Comparison of Antoinette’s and Rochester’s Incompatible Ecological Views in Wide Sargasso Sea

In recent years,themes about ecology and nature have gained much attention from scholars and critics at home and abroad.These themes can also be reflected in Jean Rhys’s Wide Sargasso Sea.To reveal the theme of ecology and nature in this novel,this thesis manages to explore the differing views Antoinette and Rochester hold and make a comparison between their eco⁃logical views by analyzing the way they treat animals and their standpoints about the relationship between human and nature in the light of Ecolinguistics.It finds out that Antoinette’s positive and harmonious ecological view is incompatible with Rochester’s neg⁃ative and indifferent one.This thesis hopes to provide a new perspective for studying this novel and to dig out the ecological mean⁃ing of it.

Language and Semiotic Studies Call for Papers

This paper explores a special type of Chinese linguistic phenomenon used very popularly on the Internet,i.e.,the superposed Chinese sequence(SCS),such as又双叒叕as in我们又双叒叕要换首相了(we are going to have a new Prime Minister ONCE AGAIN!).Different from emoticons or emojis,SCS uses normal Chinese characters,but these characters do not totally observe the phonetic,lexical,and syntactic rules in standard Chinese.While emphasizing the pictographic features of SCS,which are typical of Chinese,the correlation between SCS and the environment is explicated from the perspective of ecolinguistics.It is pointed out that many factors in the environment are affecting the creation and popularization of SCS.With the proposition of the classification of stable and dynamic factors,four major intermediate statuses are presented,which an examination of whether SCS might develop into a standard Chinese usage or just disappear when it gets out of date.
