Residual Film Pollution in the Eighth Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps

This study investigated the residual film content and distribution at different soil depths in the Eighth Division of the Xinjiang Production and Construction Corps.Before spring plowing in 2019,representative fields in four areas(Anjihai,Shihezi suburbs,Mosuowan and Xiayedi)were selected for residual film collection.The average content of residual film in the Eighth Division was 104 kg/ha.The residual film content in the four areas decreased in the order Anjihai>Shihezi suburbs>Mosuowan>Xiayedi.The average amount of residual film collected from cotton fields was greater than that from corn fields.Residual film content in the cotton field at soil depths of 0~10 and 10~30 cm was higher than that in the corn field,whereas the residual film content at a 30–50 cm soil depth in the corn field was higher than that in the cotton field.The results showed that farmers do not consider the long-term benefits,the high cost and short time of recycling,and the easy recycling of surface residual film.The shallow that the higher content of residual film,the less water in the soil of cotton.The same time,the results showed that the quantity of residual film in cotton field had greater influence on cotton quality.

Validation of the eighth edition of the AJCC staging system for patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma initially receiving chemoradiotherapy and proposal of modifications

Objective:To validate the eighth edition of the AJCC staging system in patients with pancreatic adenocarcinoma receiving only stereotactic body radiation therapy and chemotherapy,and to propose modifications to improve prognostic accuracy.Methods:Patients with pathologically confirmed pancreatic adenocarcinoma without metastasis who were undergoing only chemoradiotherapy were included and staged according to the seventh and eighth editions of the AJCC staging system.Meanwhile,another group of stage T4 patients from the above enrollment with only portal vein involvement with or without tumor thrombi(PV±PVTT)were retrieved for survival comparisons.Modifications were proposed according to the survival comparisons.A cohort from the SEER database was used for external validation of the modified staging system.Results:A total of 683 patients were included.Patients with N2 or N1 but different T stages had significantly different survival outcomes according to the eighth edition.The survival of patients with(PV±PVTT)was comparable to that of patients with T4 tumors.The concordance index of the seventh and eighth editions,and the modified staging system was 0.744(95%CI:0.718—0.769),0.750(95%CI:0.725—0.775),and 0.788(95%CI:0.762-0.813),respectively.For external validation,the concordance index was 0.744(95%CI:0.718-0.770),0.750(95%CI:0.724-0.776),and 0.788(95%CI:0.762-0.814),respectively.Conclusions:The modified staging system is suggested to have the m ost accurate prognostic value.Hence,PV土PVTT should be added to the definition of T4 tumors regardless of tumor size.Patients with N2 or N1 in different T stages could be regrouped into different substages.Additionally,stage III should be subclassified into IIIA(T3N 2 and T4N 0)and IIIB(T4N 1-2).

Party Diplomacy during the Eighth National Congress of the CPC

After World War II,political parties were on the rise around the world,influencing affairs at home and abroad.Party diplomacy became a new type of diplomacy.The Eighth National Congress of the Communist Party of China in 1956 was a major event in the history of CPC diplomacy,as it was the first Congress the Party had convened since the founding of the People’s Republic in 1949.Particularly significant was the Party’s diplomatic activity during the Congress.Most importantly,this was the first and only time since 1949 that foreign party delegations had been invited to attend the Congress.The Party’s active conduct of party-to-party diplomacy utilized the Eighth National Congress as a platform.More than fifty foreign party delegations were invited to attend,including delegations from fraternal parties who made speeches at the Congress.Inter-party exchanges were actively pursued,including arrangements for delegates to tour different parts of China.The party diplomacy of the Eighth National Congress achieved its purpose of deepening inter-party friendship and exchanges by showcasing post-1949 China and highlighting the Party’s goals.It thus had a far-reaching historical significance.
