An investigation of equatorial near-inertial wave dynamics under complete Coriolis parameters is performed in this paper.Starting from the basic model equations of oceanic motions,a Korteweg de Vries equation is derived to simulate the evolution of equatorial nonlinear near-inertial waves by using methods of scaling analysis and perturbation expansions under the equatorial beta plane approximation.Theoretical dynamic analysis is finished based on the obtained Korteweg de Vries equation,and the results show that the horizontal component of Coriolis parameters is of great importance to the propagation of equatorial nonlinear near-inertial solitary waves by modifying its dispersion relation and by interacting with the basic background flow. 展开更多

After filtering solar activity effect using F10.7 as a solar activity proxy, we determined the relative residual trends slopes <i><span style="font-family:Verdana;">α</span></i><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> values for three different levels of geomagnetic activity. For example, at 1200 LT, the value of </span><i><span style="font-family:Verdana;">α</span></i><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> goes from &#45</span><span>0</span><span style="font-family:Verdana;">.27%/year for very magnetically quiet days to <span style="font-family:Verdana;white-space:normal;">-</span>0.19%/year for magnetically quiet days and to <span style="font-family:Verdana;white-space:normal;">-</span>0.13%/year for all days. It appears from the slopes </span><i><span style="font-family:Verdana;">α</span></i><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> obtained, that they increase with the level of geomagnetic activity and their negative values are qualitatively consistent with the expected decreasing trend due to the increase in greenhouse gases concentration but are greater than 0.003%/year which would result from a 20% increase in CO</span><sub><span style="font-family:Verdana;">2</span></sub><span style="font-family:Verdana;"> emissions which actually took place during the analysis period. This paper presents a new finite element model updating method for estimating structural parameters and detecting structural damage location and severity based on the structural responses(output-only data).The method uses the sensitivity relation of transmissibility data through a least-squares algorithm and appropriate normalization of the extracted equations.The proposed transmissibility-based sensitivity equation produces a more significant number of equations than the sensitivity equations based on the frequency response function(FRF),which can estimate the structural parameters with higher accuracy.The abilities of the proposed method are assessed by using numerical data of a two-story two-bay frame model and a plate structure model.In evaluating different damage cases,the number,location,and stiffness reduction of the damaged elements and the severity of the simulated damage have been accurately identified.The reliability and stability of the presented method against measurement and modeling errors are examined using error-contaminated data.The parameter estimation results prove the method’s capabilities as an accurate model updating algorithm. 展开更多

In this article, we study the smoothing effect of the Cauchy problem for the spatially homogeneous non-cutoff Boltzmann equation for hard potentials. It has long been suspected that the non-cutoff Boltzmann equation enjoys similar regularity properties as to whose of the fractional heat equation. We prove that any solution with mild regularity will become smooth in Gevrey class at positive time, with a sharp Gevrey index, depending on the angular singularity. Disorder effects in NbTiN superconducting resonators

Disordered superconducting materials like NbTiN possess a high kinetic inductance fraction and an adjustable critical temperature, making them a good choice for low-temperature detectors. Their energy gap(D), critical temperature(T_(c)),and quasiparticle density of states(QDOS) distribution, however, deviate from the classical BCS theory due to the disorder effects. The Usadel equation, which takes account of elastic scattering, non-elastic scattering, and electro–phonon coupling,can be applied to explain and describe these deviations. This paper presents numerical simulations of the disorder effects based on the Usadel equation to investigate their effects on the △, Tc, QDOS distribution, and complex conductivity of the NbTiN film. Furthermore, NbTiN superconducting resonators with coplanar waveguide(CPW) structures are fabricated and characterized at different temperatures to validate our numerical simulations. The pair-breaking parameter α and the critical temperature in the pure state T_(c)^(P) of our NbTiN film are determined from the experimental results and numerical simulations. This study has significant implications for the development of low-temperature detectors made of disordered superconducting materials. 展开更多

The paper addresses the decentralized optimal control and stabilization problems for interconnected systems subject to asymmetric information.Compared with previous work,a closed-loop optimal solution to the control problem and sufficient and necessary conditions for the stabilization problem of the interconnected systems are given for the first time.The main challenge lies in three aspects:Firstly,the asymmetric information results in coupling between control and estimation and failure of the separation principle.Secondly,two extra unknown variables are generated by asymmetric information(different information filtration)when solving forward-backward stochastic difference equations.Thirdly,the existence of additive noise makes the study of mean-square boundedness an obstacle.The adopted technique is proving and assuming the linear form of controllers and establishing the equivalence between the two systems with and without additive noise.A dual-motor parallel drive system is presented to demonstrate the validity of the proposed algorithm. 展开更多

Effects of landscape fragmentation of plantation forests on carbon storage in the Loess Plateau,China

Tree plantation and forest restoration are the major strategies for enhancing terrestrial carbon sequestration and mitigating climate change.The Grain for Green Project in China has positively impacted global carbon sequestration and the trend towards fragmentation of plantation forests.Limited studies have been conducted on changes in plantation biomass and stand structure caused by fragmentation,and the effect of fragmentation on the carbon storage of plantation forests remains unclear.This study evaluated the differences between carbon storage and stand structure in black locust forests in fragmented and continuous landscape in the Ansai District,China and discussed the effects of ecological significance of four landscape indices on carbon storage and tree density.We used structural equation modelling to explore the direct and indirect effects of fragmentation,edge,abiotic factors,and stand structure on above-ground carbon storage.Diameter at breast height(DBH)in fragmented forests was 53.3%thicker,tree density was 40.9%lower,and carbon storage was 49.8%higher than those in continuous forests;for all given DBH>10 cm,the trees in fragmented forests were shorter than those in continuous forests.The patch area had a negative impact on carbon storage,i.e.,the higher the degree of fragmentation,the lower the density of the tree;and fragmentation and distance to edge(DTE)directly increased canopy coverage.However,canopy coverage directly decreased carbon storage,and fragmentation directly increased carbon storage and tree density.In non-commercial forests,fragmentation reduces the carbon storage potential of plantation,and the influence of patch area,edge,and patchy connection on plantation should be considered when follow-up trees are planted and for the plantation management.Thus,expanding the area of plantation patches,repairing the edges of complex-shaped patches,enhancing the connectivity of similar patches,and applying nutrients to plantation forests at regular intervals are recommended in fragmented areas of the Loess Plateau. 展开更多

A deep learning method based on prior knowledge with dual training for solving FPK equation

The evolution of the probability density function of a stochastic dynamical system over time can be described by a Fokker–Planck–Kolmogorov(FPK) equation, the solution of which determines the distribution of macroscopic variables in the stochastic dynamic system. Traditional methods for solving these equations often struggle with computational efficiency and scalability, particularly in high-dimensional contexts. To address these challenges, this paper proposes a novel deep learning method based on prior knowledge with dual training to solve the stationary FPK equations. Initially, the neural network is pre-trained through the prior knowledge obtained by Monte Carlo simulation(MCS). Subsequently, the second training phase incorporates the FPK differential operator into the loss function, while a supervisory term consisting of local maximum points is specifically included to mitigate the generation of zero solutions. This dual-training strategy not only expedites convergence but also enhances computational efficiency, making the method well-suited for high-dimensional systems. Numerical examples, including two different two-dimensional(2D), six-dimensional(6D), and eight-dimensional(8D) systems, are conducted to assess the efficacy of the proposed method. The results demonstrate robust performance in terms of both computational speed and accuracy for solving FPK equations in the first three systems. While the method is also applicable to high-dimensional systems, such as 8D, it should be noted that computational efficiency may be marginally compromised due to data volume constraints. 展开更多

To understand the hot compression deformation characteristics of the self-developed Al-9.3Zn-2.4Mg^(-1).1Cu alloy,the hot compression tests of Al-9.3Zn-2.4Mg^(-1).1Cu alloy were investigated by Gleeble 1500 thermo-mechanical simulator to determine the best hot processing conditions.The hot deformation temperatures were 300,350,400,and 450℃,and the strain rates were 1,0.1,0.01,and 0.003 s^(-1),respectively.Based on the experimental results,the constitutive equation and hot processing maps are established,and the corresponding strain rate and temperature-sensitive index are analyzed.The results show that Al-9.3Zn-2.4Mg^(-1).1Cu alloy has a dynamic softening trend and high strain rate sensitivity during the isothermal compression process.The hot deformation behavior can be described by an Arrhenius-type equation after strain compensation.The temperature has a negligible effect on the hot processing properties,while a low strain rate is favorable for the hot working of alloy.The processing maps and microstructure show that the optimal processing conditions were in the temperature range of 400-450℃and strain rate range of 0.003-0.005 s^(-1). 展开更多

The present work analyzes the interaction of oblique waves by a porous flexible breakwater in the presence of a step-type bottom.The physical models for both scattering and trapping cases are considered and developed within the framework of small amplitude water-wave theory.Darcy’s law is used to model the wave interaction with the porous medium.It is assumed that the varying bottom extends over a finite interval,connected by a finite length of uniform bottom near an impermeable wall,and a semi-infinite length of bottom in the open water region.The boundary value problem is solved using the eigenfunction expansion method in the uniform bottom regions,while a modified mild-slope equation(MMSE)is used for the region with the varying bottom.Additionally,a mass-conserving jump condition is employed to handle the solution at slope discontinuities in the bottom.A system of equations is derived by matching the solutions at interfaces.The reflection coefficient and force on the breakwater and impermeable wall are plotted and analyzed for various parameters,such as the length of the varying bottom,depth ratio,angle of incidence,and flexural rigidity.It is observed that moderate values of flexural rigidity and depth ratio significantly contribute to an optimum reflection coefficient and reduce the wave force on the wall and breakwater.Remarkably,the outcomes of this study are assumed to be applicable in the construction of this type of breakwater in coastal regions. 展开更多

An anisotropic diffusion filter can be used to model a flow-dependent background error covariance matrix,which can be achieved by solving the advection-diffusion equation.Because of the directionality of the advection term,the discrete method needs to be chosen very carefully.The finite analytic method is an alternative scheme to solve the advection-diffusion equation.As a combination of analytical and numerical methods,it not only has high calculation accuracy but also holds the characteristic of the auto upwind.To demonstrate its ability,the one-dimensional steady and unsteady advection-diffusion equation numerical examples are respectively solved by the finite analytic method.The more widely used upwind difference method is used as a control approach.The result indicates that the finite analytic method has higher accuracy than the upwind difference method.For the two-dimensional case,the finite analytic method still has a better performance.In the three-dimensional variational assimilation experiment,the finite analytic method can effectively improve analysis field accuracy,and its effect is significantly better than the upwind difference and the central difference method.Moreover,it is still a more effective solution method in the strong flow region where the advective-diffusion filter performs most prominently. 展开更多
