The t...In this paper, the theoretical expressions of wood thermal conductiv ity in the choral and radical direction are derived from the micro-structure of wood by applying some basic principles in physical mechanics. The thermal conduc tivities of about twenty species of trees were calculated by means of the expres sions and compared with its experimental values under the same condition. The av erage relative error is about 5%, so the calculation result is satisfactory.展开更多

The results showed that the variations of earliness in maturity, high 1000-grain weight, plant height and grain weight per spike were heritable and tended to be stable in IE3 and completely stable in IE4 The wide variation of main agronomic characteristics induced by embryo culture in vitro provided the probability of selection in wheat improvement. Some somaclonal lines with useful variations could be used directly in wheat production.展开更多
The research examines a new accreditation test system of English Test for International Communication(ETIC)launched in 2016 and developed by China Language Assessment(a professional testing service established by Beij...The research examines a new accreditation test system of English Test for International Communication(ETIC)launched in 2016 and developed by China Language Assessment(a professional testing service established by Beijing Foreign Studies Uni⁃versity).The analysis and discussion is conducted through an example procedure of such assessment performance on ETIC.The rel⁃evant review aims to sort out the theoretical framework and main characteristic of the system,address the consequence and decision elicited from the assessment,and conclude the contribution of ETIC as a task-ability assessment to the use of language.It shows the interpretation of ETIC is generalizable and relevant to make the decision for test users.Such test system of ETIC is accountable to the stakeholders for the intended use.The research also puts forward the direction of the language assessment in China.展开更多
Alfalfa(Medicago sativa)is one of the most important forage crops in the world;however,its molecular genetics and breeding research are hindered due to the lack of a high-quality reference genome.Here,we report a de n...Alfalfa(Medicago sativa)is one of the most important forage crops in the world;however,its molecular genetics and breeding research are hindered due to the lack of a high-quality reference genome.Here,we report a de novo assembled 816-Mb high-quality,chromosome-level haploid genome sequence for‘Zhongmu No.1’alfalfa,a heterozygous autotetraploid.The contig N50 is 3.92 Mb,and 49165 genes are annotated in the genome.The alfalfa genome is estimated to have diverged from M.truncatula approximately 8 million years ago.Genomic population analysis of 162 alfalfa accessions revealed high genetic diversity,weak population structure,and extensive gene flow from wild to cultivated alfalfa.Genome-wide association studies identified many candidate genes associated with important agronomic traits.Furthermore,we showed that MsFTa2,a Flowering Locus T homolog,whose expression is upregulated in salt-resistant germplasms,may be associated with fall dormancy and salt resistance.Taken together,these genomic resources will facilitate alfalfa genetic research and agronomic improvement.展开更多
