We selected healthy Pinus massioniana for pine wood nematode inoculation experiments to get the spectral reflectance of healthy and infected Pinus mas- sioniana in different infection stages via a ground spectrometer ( wavelength in 350 - 2 500 nm), and analyzed the changes in chlorophyll content at various periods. The original spectral reflectance of healthy and infected P. massoniana was significantly different in the middle and late infection stages, and the reflection peak and absorption valley in visible light region and near infrared region gradually weakened and even disappeared to a straight line. There was significant correlation rela- tionship between chlorophyll content of infected plants and spectral reflectance at the wavelength of 1 405 nm, and the quantitative inversion model of chlorophyll content was correspondingly established as follows: Car = - 1.74(X1~ )2 + 4. 72X1,~ - 0. 76. Through first-order derivative spectra at the wavelength of 593 nm, combined with quantitative inversion of the corresponding chlorophyll content, we can discriminate whether P. massoniana is infected by pine lt disease or not, especially in the early stages before disease features are visible to the naked eyes it has a good quantitative monitoring effect. 展开更多

On the basis of the massive amount of published literature and the long-term practice of our research group in the field of prevention and control of rockburst,the research progress and shortcomings in understanding the rockburst phenomenon have been comprehensively in-vestigated.This study focuses on the occurrence mechanism and monitoring and early warning technology for rockburst in coal mines.Results showed that the prevention and control of rockburst had made significant progress.However,with the increasing mining depth,several unre-solved concerns remain challenging.From the in-depth research and analysis,it can be inferred that rockburst disasters involve three main problems,i.e.,the induction factors are complicated,the mechanism is still unclear,and the accuracy of the monitoring equipment and multi-source stereo monitoring technology is insufficient.The monitoring and warning standards of rockburst need to be further clarified and im-proved.Combined with the Internet of Things,cloud computing,and big data,a study of the trend of rockburst needs to be conducted.Further-more,the mechanism of multiphase and multi-field coupling induced by rockburst on a large scale needs to be explored.A multisystem and multiparameter integrated monitoring and early warning system and remote monitoring cloud platform for rockburst should be explored and developed.High-reliability sensing technology and equipment and perfect monitoring and early warning standards are considered to be the de-velopment direction of rockburst in the future.This research will help experts and technicians adopt effective measures for controlling rock-burst disasters. 展开更多

Monitoring and early warning is an important means to effectively prevent risks in agricultural production,consumption and price.In particular,with the change of modes of national administration against the background of big data,improving the capacity to monitor agricultural products is of great significance for macroeconomic decision-making.Agricultural product information early warning thresholds are the core of agricultural product monitoring and early warning.How to appropriately determine the early warning thresholds of multi-temporal agricultural product information is a key question to realize real-time and dynamic monitoring and early warning.Based on the theory of abnormal fluctuation of agricultural product information and the research of substantive impact on the society,this paper comprehensively discussed the methods to determine the thresholds of agricultural product information fluctuation in different time dimensions.Based on the data of the National Bureau of Statistics of China(NBSC)and survey data,this paper used a variety of statistical methods to determine the early warning thresholds of the production,consumption and prices of agricultural products.Combined with Delphi expert judgment correction method,it finally determined the early warning thresholds of agricultural product information in multiple time,and carried out early warning analysis on the fluctuation of agricultural product monitoring information in 2018.The results show that:(1)the daily,weekly and monthly monitoring and early warning thresholds of agricultural products play an important early warning role in monitoring abnormal fluctuations with agricultural products;(2)the multitemporal monitoring and early warning thresholds of agricultural product information identified by the research institute can provide effective early warning on current abnormal fluctuation of agricultural product information,provide a benchmarking standard for China's agricultural production,consumption and price monitoring and early warning at the national macro level,and further improve the application of China's agricultural product monitoring and early warning. 展开更多

Remote realtime monitoring of aquatic organisms and foreign bodies is realized based on underwater acoustic detection and low light imaging technology. Data processing center is established to store, analyze and process monitoring information and display it in real time, and provide emergency decision support. A MEMS (Micro-Electro-Mechanical System) based thin film semiconductor was fabricated as the gas sensor. To obtain the target gas selective response, the surface of the sensitive film was modified with highly active metal catalytic nano-particles. Thus the anti-interference ability was improved and the false alarm rate was effectively reduced. Furthermore, the modular embedded system for information acquisition and transmission was developed. Supported by the Airflow Precision control system (APs), the rapid warning of volatile gas of flammable substances was realized. Experiments showed that RAs has satisfied selectivity to volatiles of usual flammable liquid, such as the output voltage reaches 3 V (0 - 3.3 V). With simulation about the actual installation state in bus, MWs sounds an alarm at 2 minutes after splashing 50 mL 92# petrol to the floor. For the last two years, FEVMEW has been integrated into more than 4000 buses in Hefei. This design has been proved feasible according to the actual operation. </div> 展开更多

Coalbursts in China: Theory, practice and management

Coalburst is one of the most serious disasters that threaten the safe production of coal mines, and this disaster is particularly serious in China. This paper presents an overview of coalbursts in China since 1980s. From the "stress and energy" and "regional and local" perspectives, the achievements in the theory, practice and management of coalbursts in China are systematically summarized. A theoretical system of coalbursts has been formed to reveal the deformational behavior of coalbursts and explain the mechanism of coalbursts. The occurrence conditions of coalbursts are put forward and the critical stress is obtained. The stress index method for risk evaluation of coalbursts before mining is proposed, and the deformation localization prediction method of coalbursts is put forward. The relationship between energy release and absorption in the process of coalbursts is found, and the prevention and control methods of coalbursts, including the regional method, the local method and support, are presented. The safety evaluation index of coalburst prevention and control is put forward. The integrated prevention and control method for coal and gas outbursts is proposed. The prevention and control technology and equipment of coalbursts have also been developed. Amongst them, the distribution law of the critical stress in China coalburst mines is discovered. The technology and equipment for monitoring, prevention and control of coalbursts, as well as for integrated prevention and control of combined coalbursts and other disasters, have been developed. The energy-absorbing and coalburst-preventing support technology for roadways is invented, and key engineering parameters of coalburst prevention and control are pointed out. In China, coalburst prevention and control laws and standards have been developed. Technical standards for coalbursts are formulated, statute and regulations for coal mines are established, and regulatory documents are promoted. 展开更多

In China,many geological hazards occurred in remote mountainous regions,and it was time-consuming to disseminate disaster information for the responsible parties to make timely judgements.Besides,only relying on professionals to monitor and manage disasters was demanding and costly.The Chinese government created a system to engage residents in the process of disaster risk management,namely’Public Participation Monitoring and Warning’(PPMW),to disseminate timely disaster information and bring down management costs.The objective of this system was to reduce casualties with minimum cost by organizing residents to evacuate from disasters in advance.This paper introduced the PPMW system,including its structure,operation mechanism by reviewing government documents and research articles,and its implementation by a case study of a landslide at Boli village(E 101°01’,N 27°29’),Yanyuan County,Sichuan Province,China on July 19th 2018.Further,this paper analyzed the strengths and limitations of the system and discussed its future development.It had the potential to become an affordable disaster risk management tool for other countries facing similar situations to China. 展开更多

The importance of food security,especially in combating the problem of acute hunger,has been underscored as a key component of sustainable development.Considering the major challenge of rapidly increasing demands for both food security and safety,the management and control of major pests is urged to secure supplies of major agricultural products.However,owing to global climate change,biological invasion(e.g.,fall armyworm),decreasing agricultural biodiversity,and other factors,a wide range of crop pest outbreaks are becoming more frequent and serious,making China,one of the world’s largest country in terms of agricultural production,one of the primary victims of crop yield loss and the largest pesticide consumer in the world.Nevertheless,the use of science and technology in monitoring and early warning of major crop pests provides better pest management and acts as a fundamental part of an integrated plant protection strategy to achieve the goal of sustainable development of agriculture.This review summarizes the most fundamental information on pest monitoring and early warning in China by documenting the developmental history of research and application,Chinese laws and regulations related to plant protection,and the National Monitoring and Early Warning System,with the purpose of presenting the Chinese model as an example of how to promote regional management of crop pests,especially of cross border pests such as fall armyworm and locust,by international cooperation across pest-related countries. 展开更多

The incidence of porcine pasteurellosis in China is so widespread that it is difficult to clearly understand the prevalence and maintain continuous monitoring.In order to reduce immense negative economic impact on the livestock industry;monitoring,early warning,and visual management systems are highly desirable.In this study,a monitoring and early warning systemfor porcine pasteurellosis was established based onWeb Geographical Information System(WebGIS)technology.By establishing a path analysis function,buffer analysis function,and hot spot analysis function,it can provide a method of support and control of infectious diseases.For early warning of disease,four common interpolation methods were tested,all of which showed that the affected area of porcine pasteurellosis in China was mainly concentrated in the south of the mainland.A cross-validation method was used to compare the four interpolation methods.The cross-validation showed that the inverse distance weighting(IDW)method was suitable for forecasting the occurrence of porcine pasteurellosis in China.Finally,using C sharp(C#)as the development language and WebGIS technology,a monitoring and early warning system based on Browser/Server structure was developed.This is the first monitoring and early warning system of porcine pasteurellosis based onWebGIS.The performance of theWebGIS technology indicated a great potential for animal infectious disease applications and provided a foundation for future work. 展开更多

The efficient and accurate collection of agricultural product market information serves as the basis for the effective regulation of agricultural product markets.To achieve a comprehensive,accurate,and timely collection of agricultural product market information,this study puts forth a technique for collecting holographic information of agricultural product markets.A portable human-machine interaction device with an Advanced RISC(reduced instruction set computer)Machines(ARM)-based processor as the core is developed.Holographic information such as agricultural product market trading time,trading place,product name,price,and trading volume can be collected.Via embedded technology and component technology,innovative agricultural product market positioning,and matching,standardized collection,and data processing,and in combination with intelligent algorithms for analysis and early warning,a mobile application terminal for information collection is developed,namely,a holographic information collector for agricultural product markets(named Nongxincai).By using a layered structure,the hardware integrates microprocessor,storage,power,application and communication interface,and human-machine interaction modules.The device has the advantages of miniaturization,the whole-machine power consumption of less than 0.5 W,and continuous operating time of at least 10 h.A supporting software system for Nongxincai has also been developed,in which Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5 is employed as the operating system,and the CPU frequency is up to 600 MHz.This configuration fully meets the computing requirements of map processing and large-volume data processing and has high compatibility.Nongxincai has been popularized and applied in 12 provinces/municipalities in China.It has played an important role in the monitoring and early warning of different varieties of agricultural products and target prices of soybean and cotton. 展开更多
