Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is the most common primary liver cancer (1). The incidence is rising in the last decades due to many factors, especially hepatitis C, alcoholic liver disease and non-alcoholic steatohepatitis. Moreover, the introduction of screening programs in patients with chronic liver disease has led to an increase in HCC diagnosis (1,2). In the western world, 80% to 90% of HCC eases occur in patients with liver cirrhosis (3) while this proportion is lower in some regions in Asia and sub-Saharian Africa, where hepatitis B remains as an important etiologic factor for chronic liver disease (2,4). In 1990, the annual world frequency of HCC was 437,000 cases/year (1), and in 2012 the number reached 782,200 cases/year being responsible for 746,000 deaths (5). Nowadays, HCC represents the 6th most frequent neoplastic disease in the world and the 3rd in mortality (5). 展开更多

Laparoscopic liver resection (LLR) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is increasing in this era of minimal invasive liver surgery. LLR for HCC is currently known to be a safer procedure than it was before because of technical advances and improvement in postoperative patient management and remains the first-line treatment for HCC in compensated cirrhosis in many centers. We have the chance of analyzing the paper about the comparison between Middle Eastern and Western experience for LLR as treatment of HCC. 展开更多

The new Eurasia Continental Bridgeruns from East China to Central andWest China, crossing 11 provincesand regions, namely Jiangsu, Shandong,Hubei, Anhui, Shaanxi, Gansu, Shanxi,Sichuan, Qinghai, Xinjiang and Ningxia. The total area is 3.6 million sq km and thepopulation is about 300 million, accountingfor a third and a quarter of the whole countryrespectively. The area is very rich in naturalresources, so it is called an "Economic goldbelt" and "Gold corridor". Aerial remote-control survey indicates that along thecontinental bridge from Lianyungang to theAla Mountains within China’s boundary, 展开更多

An Evaluation on the Effects of the Policy of the Great Campaign of Western Development of China in the First 10 Years Based on the Kuznets Regional Inverted-U Theory

In order to reduce the regional differentials or narrow the gap in economic development between eastern and western areas and prevent the intensification of contradictions resulting from the regional inequality during the development process, the government of China launched the Great Campaign of Western Development (GCWD) in 2000. In this paper, we will evaluate the effects of the first 10 years' GCWD and use the latest Chinese annual data from 1978 to 2010 to investigate the problem of regional differentials in the development process, evaluate the effects of GCWD policy and test whether there is a regional Kuznets inverted-U curve in the regional development of China. The result shows that there are both good and bad news: the good news is that the inverted U-shaped curve of absolute differential between eastern and western areas finally emerges (the previous studies showed that the inverted-U curve did not appear and the differentials between eastern and western areas became worse) and the bad news is that the differential is in the first half of the inverted U-shaped curve in our choice of time span (1978-2010), that is, it is still in the situation of deterioration, and the turning better point will emerge in 2025. Although the western areas have benefitted from GCWD, the absolute gap has been still widened. To narrow the gap, the western areas should accelerate the industrial development and the government should adjust the policy and make more efforts to support the development of the industry in the western areas, especially cultivate and support the development of the western characteristic and advantageous industry rather than just supporting the construction of infrastructure in the western areas. 展开更多

The study of microbial communities in the produced water of coalbed methane(CBM)wells is an important aspect of microbial-enhanced methane production.Water produced from 15 CBM wells in four synclines in eastern Yunnan and western Guizhou was collected.Through the use of 16S ribosomal RNA(16S rRNA)amplicon sequencing and realtime fluorescence quantitative polymerase chain reaction(PCR),the characteristics of bacterial and archaeal communities before and after enrichment culture were studied. The methanogenic pathways of secondary biogas were discussed, and potential microbial-enhanced methane production was preliminarily evaluated. The results showed that the bacterial DNA content in uncultured produced water was low,so it is difficult to detect. After enrichment, the dominant bacteria phyla were Proteobacteria,Bacteroidetes, and Firmicutes.A total of seven phyla were detected in the uncultured produced water, and the dominant archaeal phylum was Euyarchaeota.Methanogens were the main component of archaea. The dominant archaeal genera were Methanobacterium,Methanoculleus and Methanobrevibacter. The community structure of the archaea changed noticeably after four days of enrichment culture. The relative abundance of Euryarchaeota increased to 99%in most samples after enrichment culture. It was found that there was a transition from Methanoregula to Methanobacterium within genera. The relative abundance of Methanobacterium increased, which can produce hydrogenotrophic methane.Combined with the isotopic composition of the produced water and gas,it is considered that the CBM in the Tucheng and Enhong synlines consists of a mixture of thermogenic gas and biogas. The proportion of secondary biogas in the Tucheng and Enhong synlines are estimated to range from 10.89% to 49.62%.There are mainly hydrogentrophic methanogens in the study area, and CO_(2) reduction is the main way of microbial gas production. After enrichment culture of produced water in the study area, the hydrogenotrophic methanogens were enriched. These two areas have strong potential for microbial-enhanced methane production. 展开更多

This article compares and analyzes the development history, ideological culture, and philosophical concepts of traditional paintings, landscape paintings, and still life paintings in the East and the West. The essence of painting is a form of visual consciousness. There is a unique way of processing and expressing spatial consciousness in different images, regions, and humanistic spirits of Eastern and Western paintings. The difference in spatial awareness promotes mutual learning, guidance, and promotion between the Chinese and Western art which have different historical backgrounds, aesthetic concepts, and national customs. Therefore, different ways of paintings would also have differences in the spatial consciousness of the paintings. 展开更多

In cross-cultural theaters of the drama field,it has become a universal trend to integrate tradition and modernity as well as China and the West in the cultural exchange between different nations.Such a normality brings some new opportunities to the dramatic creation of youth directors while posing greater challenges. As to opportunities,it can make the stage processing of directors more distinctive while enriching their aesthetic pursuits;the challenge lies in how to endow the work with contemporary expression without breaking away from tradition.Nowadays, more and more directors are seeking“poetic reconstruction”in cross-cultural theaters, and keen direction artists are exploring how to better express the connotation of their work, including the inner feelings of roles, their subconsciousness, and transmitting the unfinished meaningful words delicately at the special time and space offered by the stage, and make use of the unique vocabulary of directors to form new aesthetic experience and expressive effects,so as to enlighten the audience to make rational reflection in addition to having emotional consonance. Therefore,“poetic reconstruction of‘self-centered’”is critical in cross-cultural theatrical creation. In view of this condition,I will take the creation of Xi,an experimental drama,as an example, and discuss how directors reconstruct“self-centered”poetry in the cross-cultural theaters to form distinctive and unique expressions,so as to accomplish beneficial exploration of the co-existence of philosophy and beauty in the combination of classicism and contemporaneity and the process of taking in everything. 展开更多
