On the one hand, it can cause eddy current loss, and reduce operating efficiency of the system. On the other hand, it can change parameters of the system and increase difficulty of system design. To grasp the influence mechanism of seawater on the inductive power transfer system, firstly, an equivalent circuit model of double-sided inductor-capacitor-capacitor(LCC) inductive power transfer system in seawater environment was established based on loosely-coupled transformer model of eddy current. Then, based on Maxwell’s equations, the distribution function of the magnetic field and electric current density along radium direction of the coupling coils in seawater medium was obtained by analytical calculation. Besides, in combination with Biot-Savart law, expression of the eddy current loss in transfer direction was derived, and based on which expression of the equivalent of the eddy current loss on the coupling coils was got. Thus the equivalent resistance of the eddy current on the coupling coils in a seawater environment could be predicated, and the optimal operating frequency of the inductive power transfer system could be further optimized. Finally, a prototype of inductive power transfer system was established, which gave the experimental results, and verified the correctness of theoretical analysis, and the experiments showed that: in air medium, the transfer distance was 100 mm, the transfer power was 3.3 k W, and the transfer efficiency was 92.6%;while, in seawater medium, the transfer efficiency was 87%. Eddy current losses mainly caused the reduction in efficiency, and the experimental results of eddy current loss were consistent with the simulation results.展开更多

Compared with other electrical machines, it has the advantages of high torque density and high efficiency for high speed operation. However, because of its complex irregular structure, the manufacturing process using silicon sheets is complicated. Soft magnetic composite material(SMC) is manufactured by powder metallurgy technology, which can produce various shapes of stator core structures, so it is easier to produce various irregular shapes of the stator core. However, the raw SMC material is relatively expensive, and the mechanical strength of SMC is weak. In this paper, a PMCPM with hybrid cores is proposed. With the adoption of hybrid silicon sheet-SMC cores and amorphous alloy-SMC cores, the torque ability of PMCPM can be improved greatly and it can have higher efficiency for more wide operation frequency. Meanwhile, its mechanical strength has been improved and it can be designed for high torque direct drive applications as it is a modular machine. Furthermore, three methods are proposed to reduce the additional eddy current loss which resulted from the employment of hybrid cores in PMCPM.展开更多

In order to design the core snubber of ITER, the control parameters of the arc peak current have been firstly analyzed by the Fink-Baker-Owren (FBO) method, which are used for designing the DIIID 100 kV snubber. The B-H curve can be derived from the measured voltage and current waveforms, and the hysteresis loss of the core snubber can be derived using the revised parallelogram method. The core snubber can be a simplified representation as an equivalent parallel resistance and inductance, which has been neglected by the FBO method. A simulation code including the parallel equivalent resistance and inductance has been set up. The simulation and experiments result in dramatically large arc shorting currents due to the parallel inductance effect. The case shows that the core snubber utilizing the FBO method gives more compact design.展开更多
