A Contrastive Analysis of English and Chinese Idioms About Color Words & Their Cultural Connotations

There are many idioms related to color words in English and Chinese.The use of color words in idioms adds beauty and vividness to the language.Due to the cultural differences,“color idioms”have gained different cultural connotations with the development of English and Chinese languages.It is of great significance to accurately understand and grasp the meanings and differences of color-related idioms in Chinese and English.This paper intends to analyze and expound the cultural connotations of English and Chinese idioms related to several widely used basic color words with the aim of helping English learners know and use the idioms about color words better.

Translation of Culture-loaded Words in The Golden Cangue under the Perspective of Reception Aesthetics

Good translations play a very important role in cultural exchange.The idea of reception aesthetics think the reader as the center in translation process.This paper will study the translation of culture-loaded words from the perspective of reception aesthetics.It is divided into five parts.The first part mainly introduces the background and theoretical foundation of this paper,the second part introduces the writer’s works,the third part gives examples to analyze the culture-loaded words appearing in The Golden Cangue,the fourth part gives examples of the translation methods,and the fifth part is the conclusion.It aims to provide a reference for the English translation of culture-loaded words.

基于图像Bag-of-Words模型的无载体信息隐藏

介绍一种基于bag-of-words(BOW)模型的无载体信息隐藏方法.该方法使用BOW模型提取图像的视觉关键词(visual words,VW)以表达待隐藏的文本信息,从而实现文本信息在图像中的隐藏.首先使用BOW模型提取图像集中每幅图像的VW,构建文本信息的关键词和VW的映射关系库;然后把每幅图像分为若干子图像,统计每一幅子图像的VW频数直方图,选择频数最高的VW表示该子图像;最后根据构建的文本关键词和子图像VW的映射关系库,搜索出与待隐藏文本信息存在映射关系的子图像序列,将含有这些子图像的图像作为含密图像进行传递.实验结果和分析表明,该隐藏算法在抗隐写分析、鲁棒性和安全性方面均有良好的表现.

基于共词分析法的我国骨科日间手术主题热点研究

目的:对国内骨科日间手术领域已发表文献进行信息计量学可视化研究,深入挖掘其热点研究主题与方向。方法:主要基于万方数据库和中国知网(CNKI),综合运用信息计量学手段从发文量、作者、研究机构等角度进行常规分析,利用共词分析法构建高频关键词共现网络进行数据挖掘。结果:从分析结果上看,2011年—2024年骨科日间手术发文量呈现上升趋势;166篇文献中涉及660位作者,人均发文0.25篇,其中最高产作者的发文量为8篇,核心作者共有16位;192家研究机构中四川大学华西医院发文量排在第一;确定词频≥3的35个关键词为高频关键词,通过中心性分析发现日间手术、半月板、全膝关节置换术、睡眠质量等关键词为研究热点,疼痛控制、脊柱结核、中药外敷疗法等为相对边缘的研究主题,根据中心性差异对高频关键词进行核心区、中间区和边缘区的划分;经凝聚子群分析我国目前骨科日间手术主要有腰椎间盘突出、膝关节和髋关节置换、患者心理状况和睡眠质量评估、术后并发症安全管理4个研究方向。结论:近年来国内骨科日间手术研究呈现上升趋势,但整体发文量偏少;研究人员较为分散,国内研究力量有待壮大;研究前沿分析,研究内容上存在一些薄弱点,需要加强研究的广度和深度。

基于“bag of words”的视频匹配方法

提出了一种利用"bag of words"模型对视频内容进行建模和匹配的方法。通过量化视频帧的局部特征构建视觉关键词(visual words)辞典,将视频的子镜头表示成若干视觉关键词的集合。在此基础上构建基于子镜头的视觉关键词词组的倒排索引,用于视频片段的匹配和检索。这种方法保留了局部特征的显著性及其相对位置关系,而且有效地压缩了视频的表达,加速的视频的匹配和检索过程。实验结果表明,和已有方法相比,基于"bag of words"的视频匹配方法在大视频样本库上获得了更高的检索精度和检索速度。

黄季刚同源词理论体系阐释

黄季刚语言文字研究始终贯穿着探求语言文字系统和根源的思路。语言和文字是两个不同层次的系统,具有不同的根源。字形之根源是象形指事的“文”,以“文”为起点,以音义为基础,以变易、孽乳为条例探索文字孽生之迹,为同源字系统。语言的根源是语言产生时期的言语音声,以“文”为依托,以分化语和转语为类型呈现语言发生、发展轨迹,是同源词系统。文字是记录语言的符号系统,同源字和同源词虽分别但联系紧密。联系同源字系统综合考察同源词的类型、源头、层级,可以呈现黄季刚同源词理论体系的整体面貌。

《海国四说》借词研究

史料笔记《海国四说》是清人梁廷枏阐述“筹海防夷”思想的代表作,书中不乏记录异域概念的汉语借词。与源词对比,这些汉语借词的语音出现了一些规律性变化。就词形来看,增加长度、增“口”为饰使得部分借词形式具有明显的异质色彩;择取用字、增加语素又使得部分借词的本土色彩渐浓,其中,择取用字是利用可视化特点去构建词形与词义的关系,增加语素则旨在强调语义、凸显类别。异域概念一义多形现象较为普遍,这与书写主体的多元化,以及书写者的用字习惯、语音感知等有关。这些或为清代笔记词汇研究提供一定的参考。

Comparative study of Chinese and English color words

There are a lot of color words in both English and Chinese. The color words in both English and Chinese can be divided into two parts： basic color words and real-stuff based color words. In this paper the formation, syntactic functions and characteristics of English and Chinese color words have been analytically studied, and some differences and similarities of English and Chinese color words have been summed up.

n-words模型下Hesse稀疏表示的图像检索算法

论文针对视觉词袋(BOVW)模型放弃图像空间结构的缺点,提出一种基于Hesse稀疏编码的图像检索算法。首先,建立n-words模型,获得图像局部特征表示。n-words模型由一系列连续视觉词获得,是图像特征的一种高级描述。该文从n=1到n=5进行试验,寻找最恰当的n值;其次,将二阶Hesse能量函数融入标准稀疏编码的目标函数,得到Hesse稀疏编码公式;最后,以获得的n-words序列作为编码特征,利用特征符号搜索算法求解最优Hesse系数,计算相似度,返回检索结果。实验在两类数据集上进行,与BOVW模型和已有的算法相比,新算法极大地提高了图像检索的准确率。

Fuzzy Words Distribution in Management Science Research Articles

By using ZHANG Qiao＇s method for identifying fuzzy words （1998）, the present paper makes a statistic analysis of fuzzy words appearing in about 43,000 words of 6 academic research articles in management science. A distribution curve of fuzzy words in management research articles is drawn in accordance with the structures of the articles, and it is proved to be reasonable for tile discourse function of each section. Furthermore, the fuzzy words are divided into three categories and eleven sub-categories, including Category Ⅰ-fuzzy words, Category Ⅱ-fuzzy words＋non-fuzzy part / non-fuzzy part＋fuzzy words, Category Ⅲ-approximators＋fuzzy words. Distribution of fuzzy words varies in different sections of research articles in management science, because of different communicative purposes or discourse functions. Introduction section and Conclusion section have a higher occurrence rate of fuzzy words than Abstract section and Methodology and Data section.

On the Study of Translation Approaches of Culture-loaded Words in Literary Works

Culture-loaded words refer to expressions and idioms that carry typically culture messages. The peculiarity of one culture cannot be understood or accepted by readers from another culture. The uniqueness very likely makes misunderstanding and may lead to cultural vacancy in other cultures. Due to the culture differences between Chinese and English, it is hard for a translator to achieve complete equivalence at the level of word. This paper discusses the translation approaches of Chinese cultureloaded words in literary works.

基于语义加权网络的重点领域科学基金资助态势识别研究

[目的/意义]科学基金制度是各国(地区)提升科学研究水平的重要方式,准确识别科学基金的资助方向和资助成效是感知科技发展态势的关键。[方法/过程]为识别科学基金资助态势,在提出关键短语抽取规则后,利用语义相似度消除同、近义词的歧义影响,利用动态滑动窗口和语义相似度构建语义加权的词共现网络,并基于社团划分方法识别基金主题。在集成电路领域比较1812项中国国家自然科学基金和2807项美国国家科学基金的资助主题分布、资助力度变化和资助效果,该方法能够准确识别基金主题分布和资助成效。[结果/结论]中国国家自然科学基金和美国国家科学基金均涵盖了集成电路领域的主要研究主题,在重点资助方向和资助力度上有较大差异;中国国家自然科学基金资助的论文平均被引频次相对较低,受资助机构相对单一。

英语词汇新成员McWords及其认知阐释

近些年英语中出现了一个庞大的词族——Mc-前缀词。该词族的产生可以追溯到苏格兰和爱尔兰人姓氏前缀这一文化传统。对部分Mc-前缀词的词义考证以及分析表明隐喻是Mc-前缀词的词义形成机制。

基于Bag of Words的干果图像分类研究

针对干果图像信息量大、分类精度低和耗时多的特点,提出利用Bag of Words模型提取图片的代表特征,并采用朴素贝叶斯分类器指导特征矩阵分类。结果表明,图像分类精度能达到80%,分类处理时间约为2 s。通过增加学习样本来进一步提高分类精度,将Bag of Words应用于干果图像识别和分类是可行的。

English Loan Words in Chinese and Their Impact on Chinese

The development of China has tremendously enhanced the intercultural communication among various nations and ethnic groups. As a result, more and more words are borrowed from English into Chinese to express those western-oriented objects,concepts, values, etc. This paper focuses on English loan words and their impact on Chinese. First, their classification will be presented; then, this paper will elaborate on the main characteristics of them; at last, their lexical as well as cultural impact on Chinese are revealed. Overall, it aims at proving that English loan words help promote the development and innovation of the Chinese language and enhance the performance of different language learners thus facilitating international exchange and crosscultural communication.

A Study on the Ideographic Trend of Chinese Loan Words in Translation

Based on the redefinition of Chinese loan words and corresponding types of Chinese loan words, this article makes an initiative hypothesis that nowadays the ideographic trend of Chinese loan words is being hastened to a greater degree than before.Depending on the Prototype Models Theory for the types of Chinese loan words, a comprehensive analysis of this trend is made in four aspects:the transfer from transliteration loans to loan translation;the ideographic trend of transliteration loans;the full ideograph of shift loan words;word-for-word translation of loan words.

The Study on the Differences of Sense of Words between English and Chinese in Translation

Translation is not only the process of transforming langue form, but also the process of interacting one thinking means and concept with another. Moreover, so as to ensure accuracy of translation, one needs to comprehend the sense of words in the source language correctly, and take appropriate approach to resolve the differences between Chinese and English through analyzing the causes. The paper relies on the language management model. First of all, the thousands of new words coined each year in China can be roughly divided into eight groups. Besides, it exemplifies the problems that have occurred in communication.
