This paper presents a new data quality framework for assessing digital educational content used for teaching in distance learning environments. The model relies on the ISO2500 series quality standard and beside providing the mechanisms for multi-facet quality assessment it also supports organizations that design, create, manage and use educational content with the quality tools (expressed as quality metrics and measurement methods) to provide a more efficient distance education experience. In today’s world,humanity is immersed in a digital era where technological advances driven by computers permeate everyone’s life.The situation raises the need for computing and engineering education to inform studen...In today’s world,humanity is immersed in a digital era where technological advances driven by computers permeate everyone’s life.The situation raises the need for computing and engineering education to inform students of their responsibilities to society and their preparation to enter higher education and the workplace.Competency and technical performance are central to this thinking.This article poses two questions:Has competency-based learning in computing and engi-neering transformed into the current digital age?If so,to what extent has computing and engineering educa-tion adopted competency-based learning in their curric-ula?The authors explore three reports affecting comput-ing and engineering education to address these queries.They include the 2019 Chinese Computer Education for Sustainable Competence(Blue Book),the Computing Curricula 2020:Paradigms for Global Computing Edu-cation,and the 2023 Infinite Possibilities:Report on the Digital Development of Global Higher Education.The first emphasizes the importance and necessary elements of sustainable competency and agile education for com-puting and engineering in the digital era.The second de-fines competency as a triad of knowledge,skills,and hu-man dispositions;it promotes the transformation from knowledge-based to competency-based learning.The third report provides a pathway for the modern digital development of global higher education in a digital and technological age.All three publications support direct-ly or indirectly the transformation of competency into the current digital age.However,computing and engi-neering programs have yet to adopt competency-based learning in their curricula.Time can tell whether sus-tainable competency will permeate computing and en-gineering education globally.In the meantime,acade-micians and industry professionals should continue pursuing the cause to prepare students and graduates adequately as they become part of the digital era.展开更多

The model relies on the ISO2500 series quality standard and beside providing the mechanisms for multi-facet quality assessment it also supports organizations that design, create, manage and use educational content with the quality tools (expressed as quality metrics and measurement methods) to provide a more efficient distance education experience. The model describes the quality characteristics of the educational material content using data and software quality characteristics.
文摘Professional degree postgraduate education is the strategic focus of the reform and development of postgraduate education in China, and the digital transformation of education is also the strategic theme of the reform and development of education in China. This paper analyzes the current situation of informatization of professional degree postgraduate training in China, and puts forward the construction scheme of digital comprehensive service platform for professional degree postgraduate education and teaching based on the actual situation of China University of Geosciences (Beijing). It focuses on three aspects: postgraduate education information management, intelligent online teaching and teachers’ digital literacy improvement. The article also discusses the significance of the digital ecology of the education industry and the entire country for the evaluation of the cultivation of professional degree postgraduates in colleges and universities.

文摘The rapid development of digital technolo-gy has fundamentally changed the ways we live,work,and study.Digital education has gradually emerged under the influence of social change,technological advancements,global competition,and innovative ed-ucational practice.Digital education is not just a sim-ple application of digital technology in education but a new educational paradigm.It builds a more equitable,higher-quality,environmentally friendly,and openly cooperative new education system through data-driven methods,human-technology integration,the combi-nation of virtual and real elements,and open sharing.Developing digital education involves focusing on sce-narios,resources,models,evaluation,and digital litera-cy.China has made significant progress in developing digital education,accumulating valuable experience that can inform the continued and prosperous growth of digital education worldwide.While acknowledg-ing the advantages that digitalization brings to teach-ing,evaluation,and management,we also need to be aware of the risks and challenges it brings to data secu-rity,privacy protection,ethical issues,and humanistic concerns.

文摘In today’s world,humanity is immersed in a digital era where technological advances driven by computers permeate everyone’s life.The situation raises the need for computing and engineering education to inform students of their responsibilities to society and their preparation to enter higher education and the workplace.Competency and technical performance are central to this thinking.This article poses two questions:Has competency-based learning in computing and engi-neering transformed into the current digital age?If so,to what extent has computing and engineering educa-tion adopted competency-based learning in their curric-ula?The authors explore three reports affecting comput-ing and engineering education to address these queries.They include the 2019 Chinese Computer Education for Sustainable Competence(Blue Book),the Computing Curricula 2020:Paradigms for Global Computing Edu-cation,and the 2023 Infinite Possibilities:Report on the Digital Development of Global Higher Education.The first emphasizes the importance and necessary elements of sustainable competency and agile education for com-puting and engineering in the digital era.The second de-fines competency as a triad of knowledge,skills,and hu-man dispositions;it promotes the transformation from knowledge-based to competency-based learning.The third report provides a pathway for the modern digital development of global higher education in a digital and technological age.All three publications support direct-ly or indirectly the transformation of competency into the current digital age.However,computing and engi-neering programs have yet to adopt competency-based learning in their curricula.Time can tell whether sus-tainable competency will permeate computing and en-gineering education globally.In the meantime,acade-micians and industry professionals should continue pursuing the cause to prepare students and graduates adequately as they become part of the digital era.
文摘With the digital transformation of global education and China's emphasis on education digital,generative AI technology has been widely used in the field of higher education.In this paper,the development of generative AI technology and its potential in personalized learning,interactive content creation and adaptive assessment in education were introduced firstly.Then,the application case of generative AI tools in teaching content creation,scenario-based teaching content development,visual teaching content development,complex concept deconstruction and analogy,student-led application practice and other aspects in the teaching of Building Decoration Materials was discussed.Through the teaching experiment and effect evaluation,the positive influence of generative AI technology on the improvement of students'learning effect and teaching efficiency was verified.Finally,some thoughts and inspirations on the combination of educational theory and generative AI technology,the integration of teaching design and generative AI technology,and the practice cases and effect evaluation were put forward,and the importance of teacher role transformation and personalized learning path design was emphasized to provide theoretical and practical support for the innovative development of higher education.

文摘While digital technology holds great potential to help realize our collective educational commitments and to build the futures of education beyond 2030,it also comes with negative consequences and uncharted risks.To be effective,digital education needs to be properly steered and governed to ensure it serves public interests,happens in public spaces,and is accountable to the public.This paper first provides a comprehensive overview on UNESCO’s human-centered approach to steering digital education that counter-balances dominant techno-solutionist thinking.This includes ensuring that the use of digital technology enhances human capacity,rather than undermining it,adequately addresses digital divides and digital gender inequality,and assures effective regulation to minimize the negative impact both on human well-being,and on the environment.This paper then presents recommendations to help build integrated digital education systems which prioritize support for teachers,and which address connectivity issues,not only with opportunities for the strengthening of competencies,but also with open access inclusive quality digital learning content.Finally,this paper shares a forward-looking vision for the futures of school systems,exemplified by a framework of digital open schools.

文摘Virtual simulation experiment,as a new way to promote the digital transformation of education,has a broad development prospect and application value.The civil engineering experimental volume and space are huge,it has a long construction period,is highly dangerous,and is difficult to experiment with.In order to solve the contradiction between the traditional theory teaching of civil engineering and the engineering training of students,the construction of virtual simulation experimental teaching courses with a high degree of realism,intuition,and accuracy can be used as a useful supplement and innovation of experimental and practical teaching.This paper takes the virtual simulation experimental teaching course of urban overpasses as an example,introduces the necessity and practicability of the course construction,and describes the experimental principle structure of the course,the simulation scene design,the experimental teaching process,the experimental method,etc.The course has achieved good application results,and it has been recognized as the first-class virtual simulation teaching course of the Chongqing Municipal Government,which provides certain references to the construction of the same type of courses in the civil engineering profession.
