在中国现代文学史中,张爱玲是少有的进行双语创作与海外传播的作家。本文拟关注张爱玲的《金锁记》这一文本在西方文化语境中的改写与自译现象,尝试还原其在英语世界改写、翻译、出版的曲折历程,以及作家呈现出的作品风格、创作观念、...在中国现代文学史中,张爱玲是少有的进行双语创作与海外传播的作家。本文拟关注张爱玲的《金锁记》这一文本在西方文化语境中的改写与自译现象,尝试还原其在英语世界改写、翻译、出版的曲折历程,以及作家呈现出的作品风格、创作观念、写作重点与翻译策略的变化。从《金锁记》到The Rouge of The North,作品的悲剧烈度和主人公的疯狂程度都有所降低,语言风格从浓丽转为平实;而到了《金锁记》最终的自译版本The Golden Cangue,译文又尽可能遵循原文,翻译方法以直译为主,翻译策略以异化为主,以最大限度地保留原作的语言风格。此外,创作观念的变化、西方读者不同的期待视野、作者的自我东方主义倾向及西方中心主义观点下的文化歧视等是在作家改写与自译的过程中不得不提及的。展开更多
