The paper concludes (1) SST in the Nansha Islands water varies with that of the Eastern Equatorial Pacific Ocean in synchronous phase, but varies with that of the Western Equatorial Pacific Ocean in opposite phase; (2) the sea state in Nansha Islands waters is rough, the frequency of great wave increases in the year of El Nino, especially in the next year of the year of El Nino.
