However, as noted by the European Union Long-term strategy, there are two ways to reduce the amount of CO2 emissions in the transportation sector. The first way is characterized by creating more efficient vehicles. In contrast, the second way is characterized by changing the fuel used. The current study addressed the second way, changing the fuel type. The study examined the potential of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) as an alternative fuel type to reduce CO2 emissions in Hungarys transportation sector. The study used secondary data retrieved from Statista and stata.com to analyze the future trends of BEVs in Hungary. The results showed that the percentage of BEVs in Hungary in 2022 was 0.4% compared to the total number of registered passenger cars, which is 3.8 million. The simple exponential smoothing (SES) time series forecast revealed that the number of BEVs is expected to reach 84,192 in 2030, indicating a percentage increase of 2.21% in the next eight years. The study suggests that increasing the number of BEVs is necessary to address the negative impact of CO2 emissions on society. The Hungarian Ministry of Innovation and Technologys strategy to reduce the cost of BEVs may increase the percentage of BEVs by 10%, resulting in a potential average reduction of 76,957,600 g/km of CO2 compared to gasoline, diesel, hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), and plug-in hybrid vehicles (PHEVs).展开更多

Thus if the actual driving condition deviates from the scheduled driving cycle, the effect of optimal results will be declined greatly. Therefore, the instantaneous optimization strategy carried out on-line is studied in this paper. The power split path and the transmission efficiency are analyzed based on a special power-split scheme and the efficiency models of the power transmitting components are established. The synthetical efficiency optimization model is established for enhancing the transmission efficiency and the fuel economy. The identification of the synthetical efficiency as the optimization objective and the constrain group are discussed emphatically. The optimization is calculated by the adaptive simulated annealing (ASA) algorithm and realized on-line by the radial basis function (RBF)-based similar models. The optimization for power distribution of the hybrid vehicle in an actual driving condition is carried out and the road test results are presented. The test results indicate that the synthetical efficiency optimization method can enhance the transmission efficiency and the fuel economy of the power-split hybrid electric vehicle (HEV) observably. Compared to the rules-based strategy the optimization strategy is optimal and achieves the approximate global optimization solution for the power distribution. The synthetical efficiency optimization solved by ASA algorithm can give attentions to both optimization quality and calculation efficiency, thus it has good application foreground for the power distribution of power-split HEV.展开更多

Hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs) have evolved from their inchoate state and are proving to be a promising solution to the serious existential problem posed to the planet earth. Not only do HEVs provide better fuel economy and lower emissions satisfying environmental legislations, but also they dampen the effect of rising fuel prices on consumers. HEVs combine the drive powers of an internal combustion engine and an electrical machine. The main components of HEVs are energy storage system, motor, bidirectional converter and maximum power point trackers (MPPT, in case of solar-powered HEVs). The performance of HEVs greatly depends on these components and its architecture. This paper presents an extensive review on essential components used in HEVs such as their architectures with advantages and disadvantages, choice of bidirectional converter to obtain high efficiency, combining ultracapacitor with battery to extend the battery life, traction motors’ role and their suitability for a particular application. Inclusion of photovoltaic cell in HEVs is a fairly new concept and has been discussed in detail. Various MPPT techniques used for solar-driven HEVs are also discussed in this paper with their suitability.展开更多

文摘Electrification of vehicles intensifies their cooling demands due to the requirements of maintaining electronics/electrical systems below their maximum temperature threshold. In this paper, passive cooling approaches based on heat pipes have been considered for the thermal management of electric vehicle(EV)traction systems including battery, inverter, and motor. For the battery,a heat pipe base plate is used to provide high heat removal(180 W per module)and better thermal uniformity(<5°C)for the battery modules in a pack while downsizing the liquid cold plate system. In the case of Inverter, two phase cooling system based on heat pipes was designed to handle hot spots arising from high heat flux(∼100 W/cm2)–for liquid cooling and provide location independence and a dedicated cooling approach-for air cooling. For EV motors, heat pipebased systems are explored for stator and rotor cooling. The paper also provides a glimpse of development on high-performance microchannel-based cold plate technologies based on parallel fins and multi-layer 3D stacked structures.Specifically, this work extends the concept of hybridization of two-phase technology based on heat pipes with single-phase technology, predominately based on liquid cooling,to extend performance, functionalities, and operational regime of cooling solutions for components of EV drive trains. In summary, heat pipes will help to improve and extend the overall reliability, performance, and safety of air and liquid cooling systems in electric vehicles.
文摘This paper addresses the sampled-data multi-objective active suspension control problem for an in-wheel motor driven electric vehicle subject to stochastic sampling periods and asynchronous premise variables. The focus is placed on the scenario that the dynamical state of the half-vehicle active suspension system is transmitted over an in-vehicle controller area network that only permits the transmission of sampled data packets. For this purpose,a stochastic sampling mechanism is developed such that the sampling periods can randomly switch among different values with certain mathematical probabilities. Then,an asynchronous fuzzy sampled-data controller, featuring distinct premise variables from the active suspension system,is constructed to eliminate the stringent requirement that the sampled-data controller has to share the same grades of membership.Furthermore, novel criteria for both stability analysis and controller design are derived in order to guarantee that the resultant closed-loop active suspension system is stochastically stable with simultaneous𝐻2 and𝐻∞performance requirements. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed stochastic sampled-data multi-objective control method is verified via several numerical cases studies in both time domain and frequency domain under various road disturbance profiles.
文摘An electric vehicle is becoming one of the popular choices when choosing a vehicle.People are generally impressed with electric vehicles’zero-emission and smooth drives, while unstable battery duration keeps people away. This study tries to identify the primary factors that affect the likelihood of owning an electric vehicle based on different income levels. We divide the dataset into three subgroups by household income from$50,000 to$150,000 or low-medium income level,$150,000 to$250,000 or medium-high income level,and$250,000 or above, the high-income level. We considered several machine learning classifiers, and naive Bayes gave us a relatively higher accuracy than other algorithms in terms of overall accuracy and F1 scores.Based on the probability analysis,we found that for each of these groups,one-way commuting distance is the most important for all three income levels.

文摘With the dramatic increase in electric vehicles(EVs)globally, the demand for lithium-ion batteries has grown dramatically, resulting in many batteries being retired in the future.Developing a rapid and robust capacity estimation method is a challenging work to recognize the battery aging level on service and provide regroup strategy of the retied batteries in secondary use. There are still limitations on the current rapid battery capacity estimation methods, such as direct current internal resistance(DCIR)and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy(EIS),in terms of efficiency and robustness. To address the challenges, this paper proposes an improved version of DCIR,named pulse impedance technique(PIT),for rapid battery capacity estimation with more robustness.First,PIT is carried out based on the transient current excitation and dynamic voltage measurement using the high sampling frequency,in which the coherence analysis is used to guide the selection of a reliable frequency band. The battery impedance can be extracted in a wide range of frequency bands compared to the traditional DCIR method, which obtains more information on the battery capacity evaluation.Second, various statistical variables are used to extract aging features, and Pearson correlation analysis is applied to determine the highly correlated features. Then a linear regression model is developed to map the relationship between extracted features and battery capacity. To validate the performance of the proposed method, the experimental system is designed to conduct comparative studies between PIT and EIS based on the two 18650 batteries connected in series. The results reveal that the proposed PIT can provide comparative indicators to EIS,which contributes higher estimation accuracy of the proposed PIT method than EIS technology with lower time and cost.

文摘Now the optimization strategies for power distribution are researched widely, and most of them are aiming to the optimal fuel economy and the driving cycle must be preknown. The synthetical efficiency optimization solved by ASA algorithm can give attentions to both optimization quality and calculation efficiency, thus it has good application foreground for the power distribution of power-split HEV.
文摘The rapid consumption of fossil fuel and increased environmental damage caused by it have given a strong impetus to the growth and development of fuelefficient vehicles. Various MPPT techniques used for solar-driven HEVs are also discussed in this paper with their suitability.

文摘An energy-storage system comprised of lithium-ion battery modules is considered to be a core component of new energy vehicles,as it provides the main power source for the transmission system. However, manufacturing defects in battery modules lead to variations in performance among the cells used in series or parallel configuration. This variation results in incomplete charge and discharge of batteries and non-uniform temperature distribution, which further lead to reduction of cycle life and battery capacity over time.To solve this problem, this work uses experimental and numerical methods to conduct a comprehensive investigation on the clustering of battery cells with similar performance in order to produce a battery module with improved electrochemical performance.Experiments were first performed by dismantling battery modules for the measurement of performance parameters. The kmeans clustering and support vector clustering(SVC)algorithms were then employed to produce battery modules composed of 12 cells each.Experimental verification of the results obtained from the clustering analysis was performed by measuring the temperature rise in the cells over a certain period, while air cooling was provided. It was found that the SVC-clustered battery module in Category 3 exhibited the best performance, with a maximum observed temperature of 32℃.By contrast, the maximum observed temperatures of the other battery modules were higher,at 40℃for Category 1(manufacturer),36℃for Category 2(manufacturer),and 35℃for Category 4(k-means-clustered battery module).

文摘A novel steady-state optimization (SSO) of internal combustion engine (ICE) strategy is proposed to maximize the efficiency of the overall powertrain for hybrid electric vehicles, in which the ICE efficiency, the efficiencies of the electric motor (EM) and the energy storage device are all explicitly taken into account. In addition, a novel idle optimization of ICE strategy is implemented to obtain the optimal idle operating point of the ICE and corresponding optimal parking generation power of the EM using the view of the novel SSO of ICE strategy. Simulations results show that potential fuel economy improvement is achieved relative to the conventional one which only optimized the ICE efficiency by the novel SSO of ICE strategy, and fuel consumption per voltage increment decreases a lot during the parking charge by the novel idle optimization of ICE strategy.

文摘Aiming at the problem of large AC copper loss caused by skin effects and proximity effects, and low efficiency at high speed of the hairpin-winding permanent magnet synchronous motor(PMSM)for electric vehicles(EVs),this paper firstly established the electromagnetic analytical model of the hairpin winding to calculate AC resistance. And the finite element model(FEM)of the hairpin-winding driving motor is established to calculate the AC characteristic of the hairpin winding at different speeds and temperatures. Then, combining modified particle swarm optimization(MPSO)and FEM,a 60 k W hairpin-winding PMSM is optimized under driving cycle conditions, and the electromagnetic performance and heat dissipation performance are compared with that of the traditional strand-winding motor. Finally,a prototype is made and an experimental platform is built to test the efficiency Map and temperature rise of the hairpin-winding motor over the whole speed range and verify the accuracy of the proposed optimization design method. The results show that the hairpin-winding PMSM not only has higher slot filling rate, high?efficiency range and power density, but also has better heat dissipation performance, which is suitable for application in the field of electric vehicles.

文摘External short circuit(ESC)of lithium-ion batteries is one of the common and severe electrical failures in electric vehicles. In this study,a novel thermal modelis developed to capture the temperature behavior of batteries under ESC conditions.Experiments were systematically performed under different battery initial state of charge and ambient temperatures.Based on the experimental results,we employed an extreme learming machine(ELM)-based thermal(ELMT)model to depict battery temperature behavior under ESC,where a lumped-state thermal model was used to replace the activation function of conventional ELMs.To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model, wecompared the ELMT model with a multi-lumped-state thermal(MLT)model parameterized by thegenetic algorithm using the experimental data from various sets of battery cells. It is shown that the ELMT model can achieve higher computa-tional efficiency than the MLT model and better fitting and prediction accuracy, where the average root mean squared error(RMSE)of the fitting is 0.65℃ for the ELMT model and 3.95℃ for the MLT model, and the RMES of the prediction under new data set is 3.97℃ for the ELMT model and 6.11℃ for the MLT model.
