This paper proposes that in addition to known factors of electronic commerce B2C websites such a design of websites, security of websites and familiarity of website influence customers trust in online transactions. This paper presents an application of expert system on trust in electronic commerce. Based on experts’ judgment, a frame of work was proposed. The proposed model applies ANFIS and Mamdani inference fuzzy system to get the desired results and then results of two methods were compared. Two questionnaires were used in this study. The first questionnaire was developed for e-commerce experts, and the second one was designed for the customers of electronic websites. Based on AHP method, Expert Choice software was used to determine the priority of factors in the first questionnaire, and MATLAB and Excel were used for developing the fuzzy rules. Finally, the fuzzy logical kit was used to analyze the generated factors in the model. Our study findings show that trust in EC transactions is strongly mediated by perceived security.展开更多

The top issue for many business-to-business (B2B) firms today is channel conflict. In this paper,we analyze the weakness of traditional place model at first. On the basis of it,we set forth the processes and advantages of direct place and indirect place un- der the environment of electronic commerce. Then this paper presents that we should develop association net, express net, service net and production net in order to create place advantage under the environment of electronic commerce.展开更多

To get a big market on the Web, a special security infrastructure would need to be put into place transforming the wild-and-woolly Internet into a network with end-to-end protections. XML (extensible Markup Language) is widely accepted as powerful data representation standard for electronic documents, so a security mechanism for XML documents must be provided in the first place to secure electronic commerce over Internet. In this paper the authors design and implement a secure framework that provides XML signature function, XML Element-wise Encryption function, smart card based crypto API library and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) security functions to achieve confidentiality, integrity, message authentication, and/or signer authentication services for XML documents and existing non-XML documents that are exchanged by Internet for E-commerce application.展开更多

Recent advances in model checking technology have led it to be introduced into the development of approaches and tools to check the correctness of electronic commerce protocols. This paper focuses on the research of a method that connects an extension of AUML to model checker SPIN/Promela for the specification and verification of agent interaction protocols (AIP) in electronic commerce. The method presented here allows us to combine the benefits of visual specification with the power of some static analysis and model checking. Some algorithms and rules are developed to permit all visual modeling constructs translated mechanically into some Promela models of AIP, as supported by the model checker SPIN. Moreover, a process is illustrated to guide the specification and verification of AIP. The method is demonstrated thoroughly using the e commerce protocol NetBill as an example.展开更多

Security of electronic commerce includes communication security, secure payment and goods delivery. Few solutions take merchant fraud problem into account despite its important role in electronic commerce. Disputes resolution is one way to solve merchant fraud but in general it is only useful for online information goods or judgement of fraudulent side. This paper focuses on how to solve merchant fraud problem. As previous electronic commerce schemes cannot solve merchant fraud problem due to its inherent weakness in structure, we put forward a new revolutionary scheme that is named ELC(electronic letter of credit) as it simulates letter of credit commonly used in imports and exports. ELC is a revolutionary progress in electronic commerce as it solves merchant fraud problem without weakening security of other aspects. An electronic commerce system prototype, called SEMALL, is under implementation. SEMALL consists of an electronic payment system named BEARCAT and a Web Mall named VE. BEARCAT is developed on the basis of ELC as an instance of ELC scheme. The process of a BEARCAT transaction is described and analyzed detailedly in the paper. ELC scheme can greatly push development of electronic commerce.展开更多

The study was done in 2004 and the findings reviewed in 2012 with similar results. The objective of the study was to establish whether E-commerce technology adoption would result in the organization being more efficient and effective in delivering its mandate and then establish the level of adoption of the technology at the centre using abstraction and a questionnaire survey. Abstraction results showed that organizations which had fully embraced the technology were more efficient and effective while the survey revealed that the centre had partially adopted the technology. It was recommended that the centre should fully embrace the technology and market it to other organizations as per its mandate.展开更多

Typically, online transactions require a significant level of human intervention. Customers undertake the search for products, services, potential vendors and business partners. They evaluate alternatives, decide what goods to buy and when, from which vendor, and how much they are willing to pay for. They engage in potential negotiations, carry out the transactions and so on. As those markets become mature, new products and services, as well as new practices, are beginning to appear. There is already ample evidence that agent-based technology will be crucial for these developments, reflecting that both buyers and sellers being vigorously seek techniques to improve their performance. This work surveys several of these agents that help electronic commerce systems by describing their roles in the context of a Consumer Buying Behavior (CBB) model. The CBB model presented augments traditional marketing models with concepts from Software Agents research to accommodate electronic markets.展开更多
