The Exploration and Practice of MTI Translation Teaching From the Perspective of Ecological Translatology

In the past 20 years,significant changes have occurred in translation theories and translation studies,in which both Western and Chinese translation theories have played an irreplaceable role.Advancing with The Times,the academic development also puts forward new requirements for translation classroom teaching in Master of Translation and Interpreting(MTI)colleges and universities.It requires it to introduce new academic trends and promote teaching reform actively to meet the purpose of training composite applied translation talents.Ecological translatology,a new subject,has aroused the interest of many Chinese scholars and has become a relatively active local translation theory in China.This study studies translation activities from the perspective of ecological translation studies,combines ecological translation theory with translation teaching,and discusses the classroom reform and innovative development of MTI colleges.

Translation of Tourist Literature From the Perspective of Eco-translatology

This article attempts to examine the translation of tourist literature from the perspective of Eco-translatology.Throughdetailed and systematic analysis of the development and main viewpoints of Eco-translatology,the author concludes that principlesunder Eco-translatology provide a brand new framework for the study of tourist literature translation.

On C-E Translation of Chinese Tang Poetry from the Perspective of Ecotranslatology

Tang poetry is a shining pearl in the history of Chinese literature.C-E translation of Tang poetry is regarded as a very complex and hard task because of its special style and form,concise diction and profound artistic conception.Eco-translatology provides a new perspective for the study on C-E translation of Tang poetry.Based on analysis of some practical examples,this paper discusses some C-E translation methods of tang poetry from the perspective of eco-translatology,namely,adaptive transformation from linguistic,cultural and communicative dimensions.

Cross-cultural Communication Translatology:Theories and Practice

This paper proposes the notion of cross-cultural communication translatology,discusses its theories and principles,and explores its practice.It points out that cross-cultural communication translatology is a multi-disciplinary and multi-field research,which draws ideas from a number of relevant academic disciplines and fields in its theoretical development and practical operations.

A Brief Study of Hu Gengshen's Eco-Translatology:with the Comparison of Translation Ecology

Eco-translatology and Translation Ecology are two new aspects of translation study.They arise from the development of Ecology and the interdisciplinary tendency of translation studies.The present paper intends to make a clear introduction of the two branches of translation study and make a comparison based on the introductions in order to provide insights into these new perspectives to translation studies.The paper points out that they are different in terms of developing routes,naming principles,terminology,methodology,research pivot,etc.A conclusion is drawn that clarification of their relationship will provide insights into the two branches of translation study and Hu Gengshen's approach to translation as adaptation and selection adds a new dimension to translation study as an academic discipline.

A Comparative Analysis of the English Versions of Prelude to Water Melody in Light of Eco-Translatology

Eco-translatology is an original translation theory proposed by Hu Gengshen,a Chinese scholar.Su Shi’s masterpiecePrelude to Water Melody is a famous Chinese classic poetry.From the perspective of eco-translatology,the study tries to make acomparative analysis of two English versions of Prelude to Water Melody,based on some core concepts including environment oftranslation,central position of translator and three-dimensional transformation.Through comparative analysis,the study finds thatthe eco-env’ironment of two versions has different impacts on them,but both reflect the central position of translator well.And XuYuanchongs translation is easier for readers to accept in terms of linguistic and cultural dimensions,while Burton Watson’s translation can better reflect communicative intention.It is hoped that the study will shed some new light on the research of translationof Chinese classic poetry and more scholars will pay attention to eco-translatology.

The Enlightenment and Study of Literary Translator based on Eco- translatology

Translator’s study is the focus of translation,especially focus of literary translation.The eco-translatology,the combination of ecology and translatology,enables the new development and prosperity of translation.Translator’s study,especially the literary translator’s study,based on the eco-translatology is vital to uncover the mystery of literary translation and cultivate literary translation talents.This paper first analyzes and summarizes research of translator’s study,then briefly introduces the eco-translatology,and finally researches the literary translator from the perspective of eco-translatology with the descriptive method and case study,exemplifies with famous translator Zhang Peiji.

Via analyzing the adoption of Eco-translatology from the linguistic,cultural and communicative dimensions, this paper intends to tentatively explore the micro strategy of Chinese-English movie titles translation.

The Translatology Process of the Word ‘Gaze’ in Chinese Context

With reference to the concept of ‘cultural studies’ and certain modern theories in translation studies,this essay makes a general analysis of the translation and introduction of the ‘gaze’ concept in China.On the basis of this analysis,it explores how this concept spread to China and why,this concept was explained and rewritten through translation and interpretation in the course of the spread;and what responses and reflections we should bear during the process.

On Subtitle Translation of Game of Thrones from the Perspective of Eco-translatology

HBO TV series–Game of Thrones has gone viral ever since its first release in 2011 and its soaring popularity among Chineseaudience has no doubt benefited from the"appropriate"E-C subtitles attached to it. This paper, through the analysis and discussion ofthe E-C subtitles of Game of Thrones from the perspective of Eco-translatology, demonstrates that the approach of Translation as Adap-tation and Selection(TAS) proves to be operational in subtitle translation, and gives further recommendations in the communicativetransformation of subtitle translation.

Researches on Translating Travel Writings in the Perspective of Eco-Translatology——Take Travels of a Pioneer of Commerce in Pigitail and Petticoats As an Example

Based on the main notion of Darwin's Evolution Theory that"survival of the fittest through natural selection",it takes"multi-dimensional alternate adaptation and adapted selection"as its translation principle and"multi-dimensional transformation"as its translation methods.In the following,some researches will be done on traveling writing translation from the perspective of linguistic-dimensional transformation,culture-dimensional transformation and Communicative-dimensional transformation,taking Travels of a Pioneer of Commerce in Pigitail and Petticoats as an example.

译介学视域下中医典籍中文化负载词的英译策略研究

由于中医典籍成书年代久远,其在翻译过程中往往存在着大量的文化对应空缺词汇,因此,中医典籍中的文化负载词翻译成了一个重要的环节,也是一个难点。为了使中医文化更好、更广泛、更有效地传播,译者必须针对现实情况采取相应的对策。基于译介学理论,从文化负载词的定义出发,立足文化视角,通过对《黄帝内经》《伤寒杂病论》和《金匮要略》等中医典籍中的文化负载词的识别和解读,提出了中医文化负载词在翻译过程中需要熟练运用语言维转换、文化维转换、交际维转换等转换方法,总结了中医典籍文化负载词可以使用直译、音译/音译和注释相结合、省译或意译的方法。目的是通过中医典籍文化负载词的界定和提出的翻译策略的同时,有助于为中医文化负载词英译研究提供新的翻译视角、拓宽研究思维,旨在为解读文化差异、探寻更加合理有效的文化交流路径和方法提供新的启发和切入点,对推动中医文化负载词英译研究及中医药文化对外传播进程的加快提供有价值的参考。

中央文献术语的“三维”特点及其英译研究

以中共中央编译局2015年和2016年发布的312条中央文献重要术语及其英译文为语料,运用生态翻译学理论分析其语言、文化和交际等“三维”特点及其英译。研究发现,语言层面主要使用短语术语和暗喻修辞格,文化层面彰显术语意义的相对单义性、交际层面凸显交际语义的精准性和严肃性等特点。对此主要运用“三维”兼顾的翻译方法,即直译、意译、译意、释义和解释性翻译等方法的综合运用。这对今后中央文献及其热词或关键词的翻译有一定的启迪作用。

生态翻译学“四生论”下的中国特色词翻译研究——以《习近平谈治国理政》(第四卷)外交篇为例

中国生态翻译学“四生论”立足于东方生态智慧,分为“尚生”“转生”“摄生”“化生”四种不同方法,是中国新时代翻译的代表理论。在数据和案例分析的基础上研究《习近平谈治国理政》第四卷外交篇(以下简称“外交篇”)4个主题的中国特色词翻译,发现“四生论”与中国特色词翻译的契合性:外交篇的翻译基调为“尚生”,并大量结合“摄生”以达到传递原语生态,“转生”和“化生”译出中国特色词的闪光点,升华文本生命。“四生论”能与中国特色词翻译相契合,传递源语生命,破除读者理解障碍,有利于构建新时代中国特色外交话语体系。

随着经济全球化和文化多元化的不断深入,民俗文化作为我们国家和民族独有的文化形式,其国际传播越来越受到重视。民俗文化的外宣翻译不仅是文化交流的桥梁,也是增强国家软实力的重要手段。生态翻译学理论,作为翻译学领域的重要理论之一,强调“翻译即生态平衡”和“翻译即文本移植”。基于此背景,该文以生态翻译学理论为理论基础,以《辽东满族民俗》为例,研究民俗文化的外宣翻译,从语言维、文化维、交际维三个维度进行探讨。以期通过对现有文献的综合分析和具体案例的实证研究,探讨民俗文化外宣的翻译策略,提升民俗文化的国际传播效果。

中国典籍外译热潮下的冷思考

近年来,中国在国际政治经济舞台上的地位不断提高,中国文化“走出去”的战略意义也日益凸显。中国典籍外译无疑是中国文化对外交流的一个重要窗口。但是,随着典籍外译规模的不断扩大,外译作品在海外目的市场频频遇冷以及中国文化对外交流实际效果大打折扣等问题,须引起学界及相关政府部门的重视。在研究相关文献的基础上,结合英译实践中的发现,从翻译和译介学的角度对中国典籍外译面临的挑战和应对之道进行分析和探索,以期对打破中国典籍外译遇冷和文化交流不畅的僵局有所启发。
