Application of the Concept of“Endowing the Old with the New”in Urban Renewal

The renewal of ancient cities is an important part of the urban renewal work in China.However,there are few studies on the general historical ancient cities at the county level in China,and there is no guidance on the renewal path.Through the practice of the renewal design project of Suining County,Xuzhou City,it makes an exploratory study on the renewal concept and mode.It first interprets the connotation and implementation path of the renewal concept of“endowing the old with the new”.Based on the texture analysis of the ancient city of Suining,it finally determines the design theme that tracing the historical context of the ancient city.Using the renewal techniques such as“extraction-transformationactivation”,through the renewal strategies such as“building new space,shaping new landscape,inheriting new culture and pregnant with new environment”,it realizes the regeneration of urban historical context and meets the needs of residents'modern life,so as to provide reference and guidance for the renovation of general historical ancient cities at the county level in China.

Cognitive malingering assessed using event-related potential P300 evoked by the old-new task in the oddball paradigm

The P300, an endogenous subcomponent of the event-related potential, is thought to reflect cognitive processes. The event-related potential evoked by the old-new memory recognition task in the oddball paradigm is suitable for examining the neural processes involved in malingered neurocognitive deficits. Forty-four undergraduates were randomly assigned to a simulated malingering group and a truth-telling group, Another 22 patients with head injudes were enrolled as a control group. All participants completed the old-new memory recognition task in the oddball paradigm. The mean P300 amplitude of the simulated malingering group was significantly reduced compared with the truth-telling group （P 〈 0.01）, but was increased compared with the control group （P〈 0.01）. These results revealed that the P300, evoked by the old-new memory recognition task of the oddball paradigm, may be a helpful indicator for determining cognitive malingering.

This paper uses the panel data of 17 cities in Shandong Province from 2003 to 2018 to construct a panel model to empirically study the impact of foreign direct investment(FDI)on the industrial structure.The results show that two-way investment,financial industry development,and policy variables have significant roles in promoting the advancement of the industrial structure in the province.In the future implementation of the“Going Global”strategy in Shandong Province,the cooperation between two-way investment and the financial industry should be strengthened,the level of regional financial development should be improved,and the impact of two-way investment on the optimization and upgrading of the industrial structure should be reinforced.

An Understanding of Old and New Buildings in Chinese National Parks with Reference to Mount Emei

This paper presents an investigation on attitudes towards old and new buildings in Mount Emei that is a significant cultural national park in China. Questionnaires and interviews were employed to collect data from those whose careers and lives are affected, and were affected, by the buildings. The investigation reveals that people show significantly different attitudes towards the two types of buildings and place more value on old buildings. People particularise their liking for old buildings associated with traditional values, aesthetic quality and conformity to surroundings whereas indicates their disliking for new ones with changed values from tradition to modernity, unsound administrative management and poor respect for surroundings. It is concluded that traditional ideology tends to be well expressed by the old buildings but poorly by new ones. It is accordingly suggested that ideology should be taken more into account in new building projects in Mount Emei.

Arginine (2-amino-5-guanidino pentanoic acid) was shown in 1895 by Hedin to be present in the proteins of horn. Metabolic nitrogen balance studies, conducted in 1957 by Rose in human adults and in 1959 by Snyderman and coworkers in young infants, revealed that a dietary source of this amino acid was not an obligatory requirement for growth and maintenance of nitrogen homeostasis in healthy individuals. Research on the Necessity of Building National-level Grape and Cherry Germplasm Resources Bank in Shandong Province

At present,the grape and cherry industries in Shandong are in the leading position in China and have driven the development of related high-end manufacturing industries such as wine,brandy,preserved fruit processing,fruit juice processing and health products. Therefore,vigorously developing the grape and cherry industries in Shandong Province and carrying out development and innovation are important parts of Shandong Province in responding to the strategy of national new and old kinetic energy conversion. However,currently the germplasm resources preserved in the fruit tree resources banks in China are only 45% of those in the US and 27. 2% of those in the EU. Moreover,the development of fruit trees resources banks in Shandong is relatively backward in China,and there is still no banks related with grape and cherry germplasm resources in Shandong. Therefore,importance can be attached to the agriculture,forestry,and animal husbandry to build germplasm resources banks for grape and cherry industries in Shandong Province. Building the national-level grape and cherry germplasm resources bank in Shandong Province can also promote the utilization of wild and farm germplasm resources in the future; advance the research on the genes related to disease resistance,stress resistance and quality of grapes and cherries; push forward the construction and development of cherry and grape mutants banks.
