The Quantum-based Avian Navigation Optimizer Algorithm (QANA) is a recent metaheuristic algorithm inspired by the navigation behavior of migratory birds. Different experimental results show that QANA is a competitive and applicable algorithm in different optimization fields. However, it suffers from shortcomings such as low solution quality and premature convergence when tackling some complex problems. Therefore, instead of proposing a new algorithm to solve these weaknesses, we use the advantages of the bonobo optimizer to improve global search capability and mitigate premature convergence of the original QANA. The effectiveness of the proposed Hybrid Quantum-based Avian Navigation Optimizer Algorithm (HQANA) is assessed on 29 test functions of the CEC 2018 benchmark test suite with different dimensions, 30, 50, and 100. The results are then statistically investigated by the Friedman test and compared with the results of eight well-known optimization algorithms, including PSO, KH, GWO, WOA, CSA, HOA, BO, and QANA. This optimization technique modifies the base algorithm (DMO) in three simple but effective ways. First, the alpha selection in IDMO differs from the DMO, where evaluating the probability value of each fitness is just a computational overhead and contributes nothing to the quality of the alpha or other group members. The fittest dwarf mongoose is selected as the alpha, and a new operator ω is introduced, which controls the alpha movement, thereby enhancing the exploration ability and exploitability of the IDMO. Second, the scout group movements are modified by randomization to introduce diversity in the search process and explore unvisited areas. Finally, the babysitter's exchange criterium is modified such that once the criterium is met, the babysitters that are exchanged interact with the dwarf mongoose exchanging them to gain information about food sources and sleeping mounds, which could result in better-fitted mongooses instead of initializing them afresh as done in DMO, then the counter is reset to zero. The proposed IDMO was used to solve the classical and CEC 2020 benchmark functions and 12 continuous/discrete engineering optimization problems. The performance of the IDMO, using different performance metrics and statistical analysis, is compared with the DMO and eight other existing algorithms. In most cases, the results show that solutions achieved by the IDMO are better than those obtained by the existing algorithms.展开更多

We can say that single-physics CFD has been suffciently matured in the practical point of view. The main target of existing CFD software is single-phase flows such as water and air. However, many multi-physics problems exist in engineering. Most of them consist of flow and other physics, and the interactions between different physics are very important. Obviously, multi-physics phenomena are critical in devel- oping machines and processes. A multi-physics phenomenon seems to be very complex, and it is so difficult to be predicted by adding other physics to flow phenomenon. Therefore, multi-physics CFD techniques are still under research and development. This would be caused from the facts that processing speed of current computers is not fast enough for conducting a multi-physics simulation, and furthermore physical models except for flow physics have not been suitably established. Therefore, in near future, we have to develop various physical models and ef- ficient CFD techniques, in order to success multi-physics simulations in engineering. In the present paper, I will describe the present states of multi-physics CFD simulations, and then show some numerical results such as ice accretion and electro-chemical machining process of a three-dimensional compressor blade which were obtained in my laboratory. Multi-physics CFD simulations would be a key technology in near future.展开更多

文摘Pathfinder algorithm(PFA)is a swarm intelligent optimization algorithm inspired by the collective activity behavior of swarm animals, imitating the leader in the population to guide followers in finding the best food source. This algorithm has the characteristics of a simple structure and high performance. However,PFA faces challenges such as insufficient population diversity and susceptibility to local optima due to its inability to effectively balance the exploration and exploitation capabilities. This paper proposes an Ameliorated Pathfinder Algorithm called APFA to solve complex engineering optimization problems.Firstly,a guidance mechanism based on multiple elite individuals is presented to enhance the global search capability of the algorithm.Secondly,to improve the exploration efficiency of the algorithm, the Logistic chaos mapping is introduced to help the algorithm find more high-quality potential solutions while avoiding the worst solutions.Thirdly,a comprehensive following strategy is designed to avoid the algorithm falling into local optima and further improve the convergence speed. These three strategies achieve an effective balance between exploration and exploitation overall, thus improving the optimization performance of the algorithm. In performance evaluation,APFA is validated by the CEC2022 benchmark test set and five engineering optimization problems, and compared with the state-of-the-art metaheuristic algorithms. The numerical experimental results demonstrated the superiority of APFA.
文摘This paper proposes a modified version of the Dwarf Mongoose Optimization Algorithm (IDMO) for constrained engineering design problems. In most cases, the results show that solutions achieved by the IDMO are better than those obtained by the existing algorithms.
文摘Farmland Fertility Algorithm(FFA)is a recent nature-inspired metaheuristic algorithm for solving optimization problems.Nevertheless,FFA has some drawbacks:slow convergence and imbalance of diversification(exploration)and intensification(exploitation). An adaptive mechanism in every algorithm can achieve a proper balance between exploration and exploitation. The literature shows that chaotic maps are incorporated into metaheuristic algorithms to eliminate these drawbacks. Therefore,in this paper, twelve chaotic maps have been embedded into FFA to find the best numbers of prospectors to increase the exploitation of the best promising solutions.Furthermore, the Quasi-Oppositional-Based Learning(QOBL)mechanism enhances the exploration speed and convergence rate;we name a CQFFA algorithm. The improvements have been made in line with the weaknesses of the FFA algorithm because the FFA algorithm has fallen into the optimal local trap in solving some complex problems or does not have sufficient ability in the intensification component. The results obtained show that the proposed CQFFA model has been significantly improved. It is applied to twenty-three widely-used test functions and compared with similar state-of-the-art algorithms statistically and visually. Also, the CQFFA algorithm has evaluated six real-world engineering problems. The experimental results showed that the CQFFA algorithm outperforms other competitor algorithms.
文摘The geological features of three types of tropical volcanic rock and soil distributed along Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway(HSR),including pozzolanic clayey soil, mud shale and deep soft soil, are studied through field and laboratory tests. The paper analyzes the mechanism and causes of engineering geological problems caused by tropical volcanic rock and soil and puts forward measures to control subgrade slope instability by rationally determining project type, making side slope stability control and strengthening waterproofing and drainage. The“zero front slope”tunneling technology at the portal, the simplified excavation method of double-side wall heading and the cross brace construction method of arch protection within the semi-open cut row pile frame in the“mountainside”eccentrically loaded soft soil stratum are adopted to control the instability of tunnel side and front slopes, foundation pits and working faces;CFG or pipe piles shall be used to reinforce soft and expansive foundation or replacement measures shall be taken, and the scheme of blind ditch+double-layer water sealing in ballastless track section shall be put forward to prevent arching deformation of foundation;the treatment measures of CFG pile, pipe pile and vacuum combined piled preloading are adopted to improve the bearing capacity of foundation in deep soft soil section and solve the problems of settlement control and uneven settlement. These engineering countermeasures have been applied during the construction of Jakarta-Bandung HSR and achieved good results.

文摘Broken coal and rock(BCR)are an important component medium of the caving zone in the goaf(or gob),as well as the main filling material of fault fracture zone and collapse column. The compaction seepage characteristics of BCR directly affect the safe and efficient mining of coal mines. Thus, numerous laboratory studies have focused on the compaction seepage characteristics of BCR.This paper first outlines the engineering problems involved in the BCR during coal mining including the air leakage, the spontaneous combustion, the gas drainage, and the un-derground reservoirs in the goaf.Water inrush related to tectonics such as faults and collapse columns and surface subsidence related to coal gangue filling and mining also involve the compaction seepage characteristics of BCR.Based on the field problems of BCR,many attempts have been made to mimic field environments in laboratory tests. The experimental equipment(cavity size and shape, acoustic emission,CT,etc.)and experimental design for the BCR were firstly reviewed. The main objects of laboratory analysis can be divided into compression tests and seepage test.During the compaction test, the main research focuses on the bearing deformation characteristics(stress-strain curve),pore evolution characteristics, and re-crushing characteristics of BCR.The seepage test mainly uses gas or water as the main medium to study the evolution characteristics of permeability under different compaction stress conditions. In the laboratory tests, factors such as the type of coal and rock mass, particle size, particle shape, water pressure, temperature, and stress path are usually considered. The lateral compression test of BCR can be divided into three stages, including the self-adjustment stage, the broken stage, and the elastic stage or stable stage. At each stage, stress, deformation, porosity, energy, particle size and breakage rate all have their own characteristics.Seepage test regarding the water permeability experiment of BCR is actually belong to variable mass seepage. While the experimental test still focuses on the influence of stress on the pore structure of BCR in terms of gas permeability. Finally, future laboratory tests focus on the BCR related coal mining including scaling up,long term loading and water immersion, mining stress path matching were discussed.
文摘Nowadays Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) software is adopted as a design and analysis tool in a great number of engineering fields. Multi-physics CFD simulations would be a key technology in near future.
文摘The Whale Optimization Algorithm(WOA)is a swarm intelligence metaheuristic inspired by the bubble-net hunting tactic of humpback whales. In spite of its popularity due to simplicity, ease of implementation, and a limited number of parameters,WOA’s search strategy can adversely affect the convergence and equilibrium between exploration and exploitation in complex problems. To address this limitation,we propose a new algorithm called Multi-trial Vector-based Whale Optimization Algorithm(MTV-WOA)that incorporates a Balancing Strategy-based Trial-vector Producer(BS_TVP),a Local Strategy-based Trial-vector Producer(LS_TVP),and a Global Strategy-based Trial-vector Producer(GS_TVP)to address real-world optimization problems of varied degrees of difficulty.MTV-WOA has the potential to enhance exploitation and exploration, reduce the probability of being stranded in local optima, and preserve the equilibrium between exploration and exploitation. For the purpose of evaluating the proposed algorithm's performance,it is compared to eight metaheuristic algorithms utilizing CEC 2018 test functions.Moreover,MTV-WOA is compared with well-stablished,recent,and WOA variant algorithms. The experimental results demonstrate that MTV-WOA surpasses comparative algorithms in terms of the accuracy of the solutions and convergence rate.Additionally,we conducted the Friedman test to assess the gained results statistically and observed that MTV-WOA significantly outperforms comparative algorithms. Finally,we solved five engineering design problems to demonstrate the practicality of MTV-WOA.The results indicate that the proposed MTV-WOA can efficiently address the complexities of engineering challenges and provide superior solutions that are superior to those of other algorithms.
文摘While many metaheuristic optimization algorithms strive to address optimization challenges, they often grapple with the delicate balance between exploration and exploitation, leading to issues such as premature convergence, sensitivity to parameter settings, and difficulty in maintaining population diversity. In response to these challenges, this study introduces the Chase,Pounce, and Escape(CPE)algorithm, drawing inspiration from predator-prey dynamics.Unlike traditional optimization approaches, the CPE algorithm divides the population into two groups, each independently exploring the search space to efficiently navigate complex problem domains and avoid local optima.By incorporating a unique search mechanism that integrates both the average of the best solution and the current solution, the CPE algorithm demonstrates superior convergence properties.Additionally, the inclusion of a pouncing process facilitates rapid movement towards optimal solutions.Through comprehensive evaluations across various optimization scenarios, including standard test functions,Congress on Evolutionary Computation(CEC)-2017 benchmarks, and real-world engineering challenges, the effectiveness of the CPE algorithm is demonstrated. Results consistently highlight the algorithm’s performance, surpassing that of other well-known optimization techniques, and achieving remarkable outcomes in terms of mean, best, and standard deviation values across different problem domains, underscoring its robustness and versatility.
