The phenomenon of aphasia in Chinese culture is serious.The existing English teaching materials emphasize too much Western culture education and lack traditional Chinese cultural elements.Therefore,this paper takes th...The phenomenon of aphasia in Chinese culture is serious.The existing English teaching materials emphasize too much Western culture education and lack traditional Chinese cultural elements.Therefore,this paper takes the Guangdong Maritime Silk Road as an example to study the specific application of traditional Chinese culture in cross-cultural English education.This paper first summarizes the significance of cross-cultural integration into college English education and then points out the serious phenomenon of Chinese cultural aphasia.Next,the paper focuses on English education,using English textbooks as a starting point to explore and integrate strategies related to excellent traditional Chinese culture from the Guangdong Maritime Silk Road.By integrating traditional Chinese culture into business English classes(with the Guangdong Maritime Silk Road as an example),the study explores the influence of such cultural integration on students’cross-cultural communication skills,cultural identity,and learning effects.The results showed that the P value of the experimental group and the control group was<0.05,that is,cultural integration had a positive effect on improving the effect of cross-cultural English education.The overall scores and cultural confidence of the experimental group are higher than those of the control group,which proves that cross-cultural teaching has a positive effect on the improvement of students’scores.展开更多

In the first period (1904-1949), English education was conducted separately in g...In the present paper, a comparison is made of the three formats in the history of EECU (English education in China's universities). In the first period (1904-1949), English education was conducted separately in government-managed educational institutions and in institutions sponsored by church-related organizations; English education was well-knit with both general education and specialty education; and self-motivating learning was encouraged. In the second period (1950-1966), almost everything was tinted with a shady color of politics: A halt was addressed drastically to EEC (English education in China) in 1952. In the gradual recovery that started four years later, the second format was sawed and hammered, showing the following features: All non-government-mamaged institutions vanished from the stage; English was taught solely as a language or a system of verbal parts, almost deprived of all cultural loading. The third period (1978 onwards) has witnessed a barrier-free and rapid development of over three decades, resulting in the unprecedented pervasion of EECU. Yet in the third tbrmat, learners' efforts have turned wholly test-oriented, degenerating into the saddening disintegrity of learning as a process into isolated charges to the target of a test at a time; the ignorant reduction of the learning methods to "Vocabulary Booklets Plus Collections of Test Papers". In addition, the national medium and long-term educational reform and development plan (2010 - 2020) also proposed the strategic requirements to improve the quality of the higher education and the level of the internationalization, to promote the comprehensive development of the students. Because of this, the national big colleges and universities are carrying out the reform of the university English teaching in different degrees, and have achieved certain results. But today, in terms of the direction of the educational reform of the university English, the academic circles are still unable to reach an agreement. For example, to set the university courses in English, some scholars believe that because the English levels of the high school graduates enhance unceasingly, the courses with the language teaching as the main contents cannot meet the needs of the students, which need to be reduced or even eliminated, and should be replaced by the bilingual teaching with the liberal education as the contents. 文摘Higher vocational English education major is an important channel to train teaching staff for primary and secondary schools of China and professional skill is one of essential factors which forms the training goal of higher vocational English education.In view of this, this article summarizes the current status of practice teaching of higher vocational English education which aims to explore a set of teaching ideas, teaching modes and teaching theories that suit professional skills training practice of higher vocational education, so as to find some effective teaching methods for professional skill training practice to meet the social requirements for the graduates and pave the way for their future employment.

文摘As a programmatic document to guide the reform of educational assessment,the“General Plan for Deepening the Reform of Educational Assessment in the New Era”clearly points out the requirement for exploring value-added assessment[1].In the process of exploring,Tennessee Value-Added Assessment System(TVAAS),which was implemented in Tennessee,United States in 1992,has a certain referential significance to the practice of assessment reform in primary English education[2].This study aims to build a value-added assessment model in line with China’s learning conditions by using big data and carry out pilot experiments in order to promote the development of educational assessment in primary schools.
文摘Whether children should learn English as early as possible has been a controversial topic, and one of the focal point is the credibility of the critical period hypothesis.Does critical period hypothesis really exist?How does child's age factor influence English acquisition?Analyzing the problems existing in the early English education based on the critical period hypothesis theory, secondly, investigating child's characteristics and psychological characteristics based on a case study.The research results show that learning English is not the sooner the better; the emphasis is how to ensure the quality.We should Specify children's English education market, and providence environment of language acquisition, attach great importance to the interest, and give full play to children in different stages of learning advantage.Parents and society should correctly treat the early English education, reduce misunderstanding and promote the healthy development of children's English education.
