Human communication system includes two parts, one is language communication system and the other is nonverbal communication system. Some researches show that in human's daily communication, 93% information is transmitted by nonverbal communication, among which, 55% information is transmitted by facial, gesture and so on; 38% information is transmitted by tone. So nonverbal communication is the main part of body language. English is a tool for communication.English teaching aims are to nurture the students’ability to use this language.This ability is mainly reflected by their spoken ability.So the training of spoken-English-Expression ability is obviously impor tant.This article discusses spoken English teaching methods from two aspects.The first aspect consists of the students’interest in speaking English out,making good use of the artistic methods to correct students’mistakes and comparing the culture between China and Western countries.The main point in this aspect is reflected on classroom-teaching,it contains using concrete objects to enrich teaching content;using body language to stimulate the students interest.The second aspect is to make the students have the positive attitude towards by establishing a harmonious teacher-student relationship.Spoken-English teaching is of value in the whole English teaching procedure.Through using this methods,the teachers can improve the ability of English expression arouse the students’enthusiasm,in the meanwhile,the teachers can transmit the knowledge to the students in a relaxed atmo sphere.Therefore,it is advantageous to improve students’English ability. 展开更多

英语新闻主要是用以报道事实和传递信息要求新闻语言必须准确、简洁、生动、平实,然而,模糊语言作为英语新闻语言的一种存在形式和表达方式发挥着精确语言不可替代的作用。在弄清模糊语言基本原理的基础上,以China Daily为语料分别从模... 英语新闻主要是用以报道事实和传递信息要求新闻语言必须准确、简洁、生动、平实,然而,模糊语言作为英语新闻语言的一种存在形式和表达方式发挥着精确语言不可替代的作用。在弄清模糊语言基本原理的基础上,以China Daily为语料分别从模糊语言在英语新闻报道中标题、导语以及主体三方面探索英语新闻中模糊语言的运用,去挖掘英语新闻模糊语言存在的原因。结果表明模糊词在英语报刊中频繁出现而且标题的模糊性最强,导语次之,新闻主体最后,而且只要模糊语言运用得当,非但不会影响报道的准确性,还会与精确语言相互补充、共同作用,获得绝佳效果。建议将模糊语言正确得体地运用在英语新闻写作中,使其在新闻报道中发挥重大作用。 展开更多

Familiarity in Chinese and English Idiom Comprehension: An Event Related Potential Study from Chinese English Learners 被引量:2

Idioms have attracted great attention over recent decades. Nevertheless, controversies still remain in regard of the most plausible cognition mechanism for idiom comprehension, especially concerning non-Indo-European languages and second/foreign language users. Event Related Potential (ERP) experiments on proficient English learners whose native language was Mandarin Chinese were conducted to test the influences of idioms' familiarity on both Chinese and English (as foreign language) idiom comprehension. Data including accuracy rates, reaction time, and latency and peak amplitudes of N400 were recorded and analyzed, indicating that familiarity might play a significant role in idiom comprehension in both native and foreign languages. Further, idioms, should they have similar familiarity levels, may be easier to process in the native language (Chinese) than in the foreign language (English). 展开更多
