Previous literature showed mixed results about the impact of CEOs’financial literacy(CFL)on small and medium-sized enterprises’(SMEs)innovation.This relationship can be motivated by relevant variables,which are miss...Previous literature showed mixed results about the impact of CEOs’financial literacy(CFL)on small and medium-sized enterprises’(SMEs)innovation.This relationship can be motivated by relevant variables,which are missing in the previous literature and make a difference as mediators.In this sense,based on the theoretical framework related to upper echelon theory and resource-based view,this study focuses on the mediating effect of risk-taking attitude and management control systems(MCS)varia-bles.Empirical data from 310 SMEs gathered using a qualitative research questionnaire are analyzed using structural equation modeling methodology.Specifically,estimations are carried out considering the partial least square method.Findings show that MCS and managers’risk attitudes fully mediate the relationship between financial literacy(FL)and innovation.Between these two mediating variables,the implementation of MCS stands out because it also enables the mediating effect of CEOs’risk-taking in the CFL–technological innovation relationship.As the results do not support the significant direct relationship between FL and risk attitude,they confirm an indirect effect through MCS.Furthermore,based on the study findings,SMEs’directors and owners,business associations,and public authorities can improve SMEs’technological innovation by implementing training programs and policies to foster CFL.They can also acknowledge the interdependency between organizational factors and individual characteristics to enhance SMEs’technological innovation.展开更多

Micro and small enterprises (MSEs) are considered the most dynamic and flexible arrangement of activity. In the economy, the foundation and development of these features is important for the creation of the so-call...Micro and small enterprises (MSEs) are considered the most dynamic and flexible arrangement of activity. In the economy, the foundation and development of these features is important for the creation of the so-called "normal" economic environment. The main objective of this research is to present a research model of innovation in MSEs to analyse: first, the degree of innovation of MSEs, and second, how the innovation is handled by existing MSEs as a result of its business environment. The research made is based on a sample of 550 MSEs distributed over six cities across the Brazilian State of Piaui. The data were collected using the Innovation Radar application, which is owned by the SEBRAE Local Innovation Agents program. Statistical techniques of descriptive, exploratory, and inferential nature were used for corresponding data treatment and results validation. The results obtained suggest that MSEs have innovation capacity between the "Little Innovative" and "Occasional Innovative" range, and also that the average and the distribution of innovation levels are similar amongst MSEs analyzed.展开更多

This study is based on the Ability-Motivation-Opportunity(AMO)model.Through two sub-studies,it explores the influence of ability-enhancing,motivation-enhancing,and opportunity-enhancing strategic human resource manage...This study is based on the Ability-Motivation-Opportunity(AMO)model.Through two sub-studies,it explores the influence of ability-enhancing,motivation-enhancing,and opportunity-enhancing strategic human resource management(SHRM)in science and technology enterprises,on product innovation performance(PIP).It also reveals the dynamic evolution that influence from the perspective of the enterprise lifecycles.Sub-study 1 analyzes 441 questionnaires from managers of science and technology enterprises,using a qualitative comparative analysis method to determine the differences in the lifecycles of different enterprises.A qualitative comparative analysis of the questionnaires identifies the configurations of AMO SHRM,organizational emotional capability(OEC),and organizational human capital(OHC)that affect PIP at different lifecycles.Sub-study 2 empirically validates the dynamic capability path and resource-enhancing path of the impact of AMO SHRM on PIP using 444 questionnaires from managers of science and technology enterprises.The outcomes make the following revelations.(1)There are two possible configurations for product innovation during the startup stage,and opportunity-enhancing SHRM(OSHRM),OEC,and OHC are necessary conditions for impacting product innovation.There are three possible configurations for product innovation during the growth phase,and three possible configurations during the mature phase.(2)OSHRM in the startup stage affects product innovation through human capital,while ability-enhancing SHRM(ASHRM)and motivation-enhancing SHRM(MSHRM)do not significantly affect product innovation.ASHRM and OSHRM in the growth stage affect product innovation through OEC and OHC,while MSHRM has a significant impact on product innovation.AMO SHRM in the mature stage affects PIP through OEC and OHC.The study compares the impact of AMO SHRM on PIP from the perspectives of dynamic capability and resource-enhancing paths,and longitudinally analyzes the adaptability of the two paths in different stages of the enterprise life,providing reference for science and technology enterprise management practices.展开更多

文摘The notion of cultural entrepreneurship is the 21st century necessity to define new trends that develop due to changes in economic and social space of life.The researchers see culture as a link between economics,society,and tehnology development that could foster research in the field of creative economy.The evaluation of cultural entrepreneurship is very topical in small and micro-enterprises in Latvia,as the small and medium enterprises form the greatest part of economy.The research question is:How to evaluate management in cultural enterprises by determining the most important indicators for a cultural enterprises’s performance improvement?Managers with expierence of five years were invited for the focus-group discussion.Evaluation of cultural entrepreneurship includes art galleries,non-governmental theatres,and concert organizations.The analysises of the research results,related to particular stakeholders of cultural enterprises,reveal the role of the cultural enterprise’s stakeholders’engagement in evaluation of management,characterize the importance of the goals’analysis of each stakeholder’s engagement,and indicate the criteria for evaluating activities in cultural entrepreneurship.The evaluation of cultural entrepreneurship can be done by analysing the stakeholders’engagement in assessing the viability,growth,and influence of the enterprise.

文摘This study is based on the Ability-Motivation-Opportunity(AMO)model.Through two sub-studies,it explores the influence of ability-enhancing,motivation-enhancing,and opportunity-enhancing strategic human resource management(SHRM)in science and technology enterprises,on product innovation performance(PIP).It also reveals the dynamic evolution that influence from the perspective of the enterprise lifecycles.Sub-study 1 analyzes 441 questionnaires from managers of science and technology enterprises,using a qualitative comparative analysis method to determine the differences in the lifecycles of different enterprises.A qualitative comparative analysis of the questionnaires identifies the configurations of AMO SHRM,organizational emotional capability(OEC),and organizational human capital(OHC)that affect PIP at different lifecycles.Sub-study 2 empirically validates the dynamic capability path and resource-enhancing path of the impact of AMO SHRM on PIP using 444 questionnaires from managers of science and technology enterprises.The outcomes make the following revelations.(1)There are two possible configurations for product innovation during the startup stage,and opportunity-enhancing SHRM(OSHRM),OEC,and OHC are necessary conditions for impacting product innovation.There are three possible configurations for product innovation during the growth phase,and three possible configurations during the mature phase.(2)OSHRM in the startup stage affects product innovation through human capital,while ability-enhancing SHRM(ASHRM)and motivation-enhancing SHRM(MSHRM)do not significantly affect product innovation.ASHRM and OSHRM in the growth stage affect product innovation through OEC and OHC,while MSHRM has a significant impact on product innovation.AMO SHRM in the mature stage affects PIP through OEC and OHC.The study compares the impact of AMO SHRM on PIP from the perspectives of dynamic capability and resource-enhancing paths,and longitudinally analyzes the adaptability of the two paths in different stages of the enterprise life,providing reference for science and technology enterprise management practices.
文摘With the development of technology and people' s knowledge level, and the evolution of the economic model, human resources has become the most important resource in the development of enterprise and economy, its importance has been recognized by the society and more and more enterprises. How to make human resource management an important role and how to motivate staffs' spirit of dedication, has become an important task in the modem enterprise management. In this paper, by studying the function of enterprise culture construction and its relationship with human resource management, this article put forward a new model which enterprise human resource management should be equipped with under the new economic conditions.
