The analysis presented here provides insight into the dynamic response of the "Dualistie" structure rock slope. By investigating the principle of energy distribution, it is shown that the effect of a joint plays a significant role in slope stability analysis. A dynamic reflection and transmission model (RTM) for the "Dualistic" structure rock slope and explicit dynamic equations are established to analyze the dynamic response of a slope, based on the theory of elastic mechanics and the principle of seismic wave propagation. The theoretical simulation solutions show that the dynamic response of the "Dualistic" structure rock slope (soft-hard) model is greater than that of the "Dualistic" strueture rock slope (hard-soft) model, especially in the slope crest. The magnifying effect of rigid foundation on the dynamic response is more obvious than that of soft foundation. With the amplitude increasing, the cracks could be found in the right slope (soft-hard) crest. The crest failure is firstly observed in the right slope (soft-hard) during the experimental process. The reliability of theoretical model is also investigated by experiment analysis. The conclusions derived in this paper could also be used in future evaluations of Multi-layer rock slopes.展开更多

Capitals raised by enterprise from different ways constitute the capital sum. Because of changing enterprise operation, the capital structure is also various and it cannot be in a fixed proportion. Therefore, we need to optimize the capital structure of state-owned enterprises so as to reach the rational resources allocation and make the national economy develop soundly and rapidly. How to optimize it? This is a big problem that we have to face. Debt-to-equity swap at the moment is only the transition for correcting capital structure of state-owned enterprises. (CLFG) and China TCL Holdings Co. Ltd. (TCL). For this study, research data were obtained from in-depth interviews of more than 20 government officials in E R. China and Vietnam, and managers and staff of those two enterprises. Results indicate that the organisational structures of the two enterprises are still vertical but complex, although moderate changes made to them post the nationwide economic reform of China. Consequently, decision making process follows a "top-down" model, sometimes, with insufficient grassroots information. Findings are discussed in the light of political, social and cultural milieu, and implications are drawn for the management of Chinese multinational enterprises operating in overseas markets. Both CLFG and China TCL are structured on task specialisations. However, departmentalisation in TCL's overseas division in head office is not only based on products, but also on geographical regions of markets. The organisational structure of TCL in Vietnam is less complex than the international division, but it is more centralised. Decision making at TCL combines more traditional Chinese business philosophy with modern western organisational characteristics. TCL has a strong western influence in its management style. However, some traditional characteristics such as "hero" leadership influence and political influence are involved with decision making at TCL. Amongst others, the transitional economy, social culture, poor management system and political sensitivity have been major elements influencing decision making. In the case of CLFG. some decisions have been made before proper information has been gathered and analysed.展开更多

In this paper, the authors present an analytical approach through the Structuration Theory: How a university can assess its culture for the purposes of design and development of the ERPs. The authors extend the Structuration Theory by integrating it with the Activity Theory to provide the means of evaluating the activities that the system is to perform. The modified Orlikowski model is applied to depict the relationship between institutional properties, human agents, and technology in the university setup and how this offers a more inclusive approach to ERP systems development and implementation.展开更多

This paper seeks to identify the reasons behind such a stellar performance by conducting an empirical study on the top 500 Taiwan Residents businesses in the database. The results suggest that: (1) the larger the investment into China, the better the business performances; (2) the higher the ownership by Taiwan Residents firms for the outward investments to China, the better the business performances; (3) compared to investments in IT, technology and machinery, the outward investments from Taiwan to China achieve better returns in commodity, energy, and mining; (4) compared to investments in Eastern, Central, and Western China, the investments in Chinese municipalities generate better returns.展开更多

This paper gives an empirical analysis on the relationship among ownership concentration, insider shareholding and firm performance in nearly one thousand Chinese privately-run enterprises. The results show: the ownership concentration ratio and the percentage of insider shareholding are 'inverse U--shaped' related to finn performance, respectively, the debt-to-asset ratio is negative related to finn performance, the firm size is positive related to firm performance.展开更多

This study aims to analyze the formation mechanism, action mechanism, and evolution mechanism about the business model from the perspective of structure, and designs the enterprise business model architecture and forms a system, besides, explores approaches and strategies about enterprise carrying out business model innovation, and does beneficial bedding in order to use and improve the theoretical system in the process of the enterprise management practice. The significance of this study is to provide analytical methods and tools for the business model questions in the enterprise management practice. This paper firstly defined the connotation of enterprise business model and summarized the seven characteristics of the corporate business model. On the basis of outlining the enterprise business model design theory, the structural design of the corporate business model is mainly discussed. This paper designed the structure of the business model on modular perspective, proposed four constituent units and nine elements of enterprise business model structure system. Through the design of the enterprise business model structure and analysis of the elements that constitute structure, provide the basis for the transformation of innovative enterprise business model, or both enterprise business models, avoid the lack of elements of the enterprise business model structure and lead to business failure. Finally, the paper concludes with the five core strategies for the implementation of the enterprise business model design.展开更多

The results are then adjusted by experts. 20 categories of risk factors that are totally 49 factors were found. Based on the risk factors during the SAP Business One implementation, questionnaire was used to study the key risk factors of SAP Business One implementation. Results illustrate ten key risk factors, these are risk of senior managers leadership, risk of project management, risk of process improvement, risk of implementation team organization, risk of process analysis, risk of based data, risk of personnel coordination, risk of change management, risk of secondary development, and risk of data import. Focus on the key risks of SAP Business One implementation, the interpretative structural modeling approach is used to study the relationship between these factors and establish a seven-level hierarchical structure. The study illustrates that the structure is olive-like, in which the risk of data import is on the top, and the risk of senior managers is on the bottom. They are the most important risk factors.展开更多

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) solutions ensure all the organizational, operational, and procedural structures interconnection, which can be both an advantage and a disadvantage, knowing that inefficiency within one structure will lead to inefficiency in others. The originality of the approach consists in the unitary analysis of all processes which shipbuilding involves (design;evaluation of ship construction possibilities;contracting of works;contracting of supply of materials and equipment;presentation of inspections for the completed works reception;delivery of the ship into operation). The systemic approach is a notable contribution by highlighting the input and output quantities for the analyzed processes. Also, where it was found relevant, the diagrams highlight the owners of the process and show the interconnectivity of the functional departments within a shipyard. Although it is obviously the expression of in-depth knowledge of the peculiarities of Romanian shipyards, the authors hope that the work can support any shipyard that may be interested in knowing these structures (as a logical scheme mandatory to design a custom ERP software system).展开更多
