The Organizations’Psychological Environment Traits Modification When Adopting an Ethics and Compliance Program

Ethics and compliance programs have a direct linkage to key tenets of employee behaviors.The employee behaviors are building blocks of the organizations’psychological environment traits.They are characterized by role identity,self-awareness,motivation,and misconduct.It is crucial to unravel the diversity of the perspectives of the programs to design an appropriate framework of the relationship between ethics and compliance and organizational psychology.According to Weinstein(2019),“Compliance is a fundamental pillar of any corporate operation and culture,and it should be based upon the principles of transparency,impartiality,responsibility,integrity,professionalism and ethics”.While“Ethics goes beyond what the law requires.It involves doing the right thing and following both the spirit and not just the letter of the law”.The founding facets of effective ethics and compliance are culture,leaders,and risks management.Policies and procedures that integrate these factors reduce the risks of non-compliance.The organization psychological environment aligns with key characteristics of the workplace such as physical setting,culture,and job characteristics.Aspects such as noise,heat,and lighting measures may considerably impact concentration,thus affecting psychological well-being.According to Ruiz-Palomino,Martínez-Cañas,and Fontrodona(2013,p.173),ethical culture directly impacts an individual’s emotional and well-being,which characterizes organizational psychology.Culture and ethics influence perceived corporate support and social exchange,which trigger ethics and compliance.

Cognitive-emotional feasibility of the effect of visual quality of building form on promoting the sense of place attachment(Case study:Cultural iconic buildings of Iran’s contemporary architecture)

The present research studies the relationship between place attachment and the perception of form’s visual quality in fifteen outstanding contemporary Iranian architectural cultural buildings.This study puts forward the hypothesis that there is a correlation between the quality of building form and the sense of place attachment,in the sense that creating high visual quality through enhancing the quality of building form increases citizens’initial satisfaction with and subsequent attachment to the building.High visual quality influences people’s experience of the environment and improves the quality of life.Place attachment highlights how people,on a personal level,recreate a sense of place for themselves.The present study adopts the descriptive-analytical method as its theoretical framework and the survey as the empirical methodology.Questionnaires were developed using the Likert scale and distributed among experts and ordinary citizens.Data analysis using SPSS and the adoption of descriptive-analytical statistics,correlation analysis,and regression showed the relationship among the characteristics of indicators.The results show a positive correlation between form and place attachment mediated through visual quality,and they are causal conditions for one another.In addition,only some of the buildings under study evoke the same level of place attachment.

A Multinational Data Set of Game Players' Behaviors in a Virtual World and Environmental Perceptions

Video gaming has been rising rapidly to become one of the primary entertainment media,especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.Playing video games has been reported to associate with many psychological and behavioral traits.However,little is known about the connections between game players’behaviors in the virtual environment and environmental perceptions.Thus,the current data set offers valuable resources regarding environmental worldviews and behaviors in the virtual world of 640 Animal Crossing:New Horizons(ACNH)game players from 29 countries around the globe.The data set consists of six major categories:1)socio-demographic profile,2)COVID-19 concern,3)environmental perception,4)gameplaying habit,5)in-game behavior,and 6)game-playing feeling.By making this data set open,we aim to provide policymakers,game producers,and researchers with valuable resources for understanding the interactions between behaviors in the virtual world and environmental perceptions,which could help produce video games in compliance with the United Nations(UN)Sustainable Development Goals.

Integrating eye-movement analysis and the semantic differential method to analyze the visual effect of a traditional commercial block in Hefei, China

Eye-movement analysis was adopted to evaluate the visual perception of Chinese traditional commercial blocks,and the Chenghuangmiao block in Hefei,China,was selected as a typical case.Eye-movement data from 40 respondents viewing 14 sample pictures were recorded.The spatial elements of the sample pictures,including landmarks and commercial brands,were further extracted to analyze the visual characteristics of spatial elements and the factors that affect the respondents’perceptions of those elements.Then,the semantic differential method was used to analyze the relationship between visual preferences and psychological perceptions of spatial elements.Seventeen pairs of opposing adjectives were selected to score the intrinsic properties and visitors,feelings of spaces.The software SPSS 22.0 was used to analyze these data.Results showed that distinctive spatial elements,such as street corridors,Ma Tau Walls,and various landmarks,were the most visually attractive.In addition,the location of a given element within a picture was an important factor affecting eye movements.On this basis,strategies for improving spatial-visual effects are proposed.The strategies include emphasizing the visual characteristics of different spatial elements,considering the overall layout of spatial elements,and creating diversified spaces based on different spatial categories.

Explaining and evaluating the quality of“light”in religious environments and its effect on spirituality

The current study aimed to investigate the quality of the interior architecture of the religious spaces regarding inducing the sense of spirituality with an emphasis on light.Thus,the authors introduced the best option by simulating the light intensity of the interior environment of the Nasir Al-Mulk Mosque,Shiraz,in software and developing a visual standard questionnaire with a statistical population including the experts.This research was a field,and survey study and computational software were used to simulate the light intensity of the interior environment of the mosque in the first part.Then,the researcher-made visual questionnaire was developed.Also,this questionnaire was sent to the experts online due to the current situations due to the Covid-19 pandemic.The statistical population was selected using the purposive sampling method from the universities of Iran,Malaysia,India,and Turkey,whose expertise was architecture,environmental psychology,and sacred arts.
