There are not environmental-unfriendly gases such as NOx, CO2 discharged in the whole combustion process. Combustion processes realizes zero emission through this technology. Fe2O3 is involved as oxygen carrier, is examined thermodynamically, and the thermodynamic data of the redox reactions are calculated. Using the criteria of minimizing the Gibbs free energy, the equilibrium composition was investigated. The equilibrium analysis shows that producing complete oxidized resultants must have high molar ratio of Fe2O3/CH4. If quantity of Fe2O3 is not sufficient, more partial oxidized products such as CO, H2, even C will be produced. 展开更多

The equilibrium compositions and thermodynamic properties(density,enthalpy,etc at constant pressure)of plasma of pure gases and mixtures under local thermodynamic nonequilibrium have been calculated in this paper.The homotopy Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm was proposed to accurately solve nonlinear equations with singular Jacobian matrices,and is constructed by the Saha equation and Guldberg-Waage equation combined with mass conservation,the electric neutrality principle and Dalton’s partial pressure law,to solve the problem of dependence on the initial value in the process of iteration calculation.In this research,the equations at a higher temperature were solved and used as the auxiliary equations,and the homotopy control parameters’sequence of the homotopy equations was selected by equal ratios.For auxiliary equations,the iterative initial value was obtained by assuming that there were only the highestvalence atomic cations and electrons at this temperature,and the plasma equilibrium composition distribution with the required accuracy was ultimately solved under the current conditions employing the Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm.The control parameter sequence was arranged according to the geometric sequence and the homotopy step was gradually shortened to ensure continuity of the homotopy process.Finally,the equilibrium composition and thermodynamic properties of pure N_(2),Mg(30%)-CO_(2)(70%)and Mg(40%)-CO(50%)-N_(2)(10%)mixture plasma at atmospheric pressure were calculated and the calculation process of some specified temperatures was shown and analyzed.The calculation accuracy of equilibrium composition is higher than other findings in the literature.The results for the thermodynamic properties are in good agreement with data reported by the literature. 展开更多

Using the method of moving asymptotes and finite element tools, an efficient technique has been developed to compute the composition profile by minimising the Gibbs free energy in self-assembled alloy quantum dot. In this paper, the composition of dome-shaped CexSi1-x/Si quantum dot is optimized, and the contribution of the different energy to equilibrium composition is discussed. This paper concerns the calculation of equilibrium composition of plasma mixture Air Fe<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>, SiO<sub>2</sub>, Al<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub> and CO in temperatures range 1000 K to 6000 K. We supposed that the plasma is at atmospheric pressure and at local thermodynamic equilibrium (ETL). In the Saharan zone, the aerosols are proven from desert dust and biomass fires. They are essentially composed of oxides of silicon, calcium, iron, aluminum and carbonaceous elements from biomass. Thus, air circuit breakers often operate in a polluted environment without specific protection. They can have abnormal behaviors and failures of cuts. We used Gibbs free energy minimization method to access the different numerical densities of chemical species as a function of temperature. These data are very important to calculate thermodynamic properties, transport coefficients and modeling electrical arc in circuit breakers. The results show that the dust brings many particles which have low dissociation and ionization energies. This leads to an increase in metallic elements and a strong increase in the numerical density of electrons which could have a detrimental effect during the current cut-off phase with the increase in the electrical conductivity of the plasma. 展开更多

Concentration profiles of carbon, Mn, Al and Si in the steels were also estimated under the lattice fixed frame of reference so as to understand the complex mechanical behavior of TRIP steels after different isothermal bainitic transformation treatments. The effect of Si and Mn on transformation induced plasticity (TRIP) was discussed according to thermodynamic and kinetic analyses. Thermodynamic and kinetic study on TRIP (transformation induced plasticity) steels, cemented carbides and mold steel for plastics were carried out in order to design modern advanced materials. With the sublattice model, equilibrium compositions of ferrite and austenite phases in TRIP steels, as well as volume fraction of austenite at inter-critical temperatures for different time were calculated. Concentration profiles of carbon, manganese, aluminum and silicon in the steels were also estimated in the lattice fixed frame of reference. The effect of Si and Mn on TRIP was discussed according to thermodynamic and kinetic analyses. In order to understand and produce the graded nanophase structure of cemented carbides, miscellaneous phases in the M-Co-C (M= Ti, Ta, Nh) systems and Co-V-C system were modeled. Solution parameters and thermodynamic: properties were listed in detail. The improvement of machining behavior of prehardened mould steel for plastics was obtained by computer-aided composition design. The results showed that the matrix composition of large-section prehardened mould steel for plastic markedly influences the precipitation of non-metallic inclusion and the composition control by the aid of Thermo-Calc software package minimizes the amount of detrimental oxide inclusion. In addition, the modification of calcium was optimized in composition design. 展开更多

In order to confirm the eutectic composition, eutectic temperature and phases of Al-rich Al-RE(La, Ce, Pr, Nd) binary systems, the eutectic Al-RE alloys with the controversial compositions were investigated. The scanning electron microscopy/energy dispersive spectroscopy(SEM/EDS), differential scanning calorimetric(DSC) and cooling curve tests analysis indicated that a similar eutectic composition(~12 wt.% RE) on the Al-rich region was observed in the Al-La, Al-Ce, Al-Pr and Al-Nd alloys, and the eutectic structure of the alloys was consisted of α-Al and α-Al11RE3 phases by combining with X-ray diffraction(XRD) tests. In addition, the eutectic temperatures determined by DSC and cooling curve tests were very close and around 645 oC. 展开更多
