Objective:To study the behavioral effects of semi purified fraction prepared from the stem bark of Erythrina velutina on mice.Methods:Three chloroformic fractions(CA) at 50 or 100 mg/kg(CA1,CA2 and CA3) were tested in two behavioral tests;plus maze and open field.Results:In the plus maze test,it was observed a decrease in the number of entries in the closed arms(NECA) CA2 at both doses as compared to the control group.In the open field test,CA2 and CA3 fractions decreased the number of squares crossed and the time of permanence on the bar,increased the number of falls at both doses in the rota rod test.The CA2 fraction decreased the NECA,but this data did not characterize an anxiolytic effect.It was the consequence from decrease of locomotor activity(LA) observed in the open field test,that the decrease of LA and rearing,the number of falls and the decrease in time of permanence on the bar in rota rod test were observed after treatment with CA2 and CA3 at both doses,suggesting sedative effect.Conclusion:The present work demonstrated that CA2 and CA3 fractions have impairing effect on LA and motor coordination. 展开更多

Aqueous Extract of Erythrina senegalensis Exhibits Dose-Dependent Hepatoprotective Activity on Paracetamol-Induced Liver Damage in Wistar Rats

Erythrina senegalensis is utilized in the treatment of liver diseases in folklore medicine in most of northern Nigeria, but sufficient pharmacological-based and peer-reviewed scientific literature is not available to authenticate its use in the treatment of liver ailments. This research is aimed at assessing the hepatoprotective effects of Erythrina senegalensis against paracetamol-induced (PCM-induced) hepatotoxicity in wistar albino rats. This was evaluated by estimating the activities of alanine aminotransferase (ALT), aspartate aminotransferase (AST) and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) as compared with the control group. The extract was concentrated and then desired concentrations of extracts were made by dissolving in normal saline. Four different doses of aqueous extracts Erythrina senegalensis (200, 300, 400 and 500 mg/kg) were administered orally for 6 consecutive days after the 72 hrs administration of paracetamol (1500 mg/kg) per body weight. Paracetamol significantly induced oxidative stress in the liver, ultimately leading to increased serum levels of liver enzyme markers like alanine aminotransferase, aspartate aminotransferase and alkaline phosphatase. Administration of the extracts showed significant (p 0.05) and dose-dependent hepatoprotective activity resulting in decrease in the activity of ALT, AST and ALP. These data revealed that Erythrina senegalensis aqueous extracts possess significant hepatoprotective activity against PCM-induced toxicity attributable to its constituent phytochemicals. The mechanism of hepatoprotection seems to be through the modulation of antioxidant enzyme systems. 展开更多

多效唑和乙烯利对西克刺桐花芽分化及成花基因表达的影响

【目的】探讨多效唑(paclobutrazol,PAC)和乙烯利(ethephon,ETH)对西克刺桐(Erythrina sykesii)碳氮代谢、内源激素及成花相关基因表达的影响,为刺桐属植物花期调控提供理论依据。【方法】以8年生的西克刺桐为材料,在花芽生理分化期进... 【目的】探讨多效唑(paclobutrazol,PAC)和乙烯利(ethephon,ETH)对西克刺桐(Erythrina sykesii)碳氮代谢、内源激素及成花相关基因表达的影响,为刺桐属植物花期调控提供理论依据。【方法】以8年生的西克刺桐为材料,在花芽生理分化期进行多效唑(PAC)600 mg·L^(-1)、乙烯利(ETH)50 mg·L^(-1)以及二者共同喷施处理,以清水为对照(CK),每个处理均喷施3次。检测顶芽不同花芽生理分化期的碳氮代谢物质含量、内源激素水平和成花相关基因表达量,并调查统计盛花期西克刺桐花序大小、数量和枝条成花率。【结果】西克刺桐叶面喷施多效唑和乙烯利后,随着花芽生理分化进程推进,顶芽的可溶性糖和全碳含量逐渐上升,而可溶性蛋白和全氮含量逐渐下降,导致碳氮比(C/N)升高;其中,PAC+ETH处理与PAC和ETH处理均存在显著差异,在生理分化末期PAC+ETH处理的C/N比值达到最大值。顶芽的内源激素含量也随着生理分化进程而变化,玉米素核苷(zeatin riboside,ZR)和脱落酸(abscisic acid,ABA)含量逐渐上升,而赤霉素(gibberellic acid,GA3)和吲哚乙酸(indole-3-acetic acid,IAA)含量逐渐下降;引起ABA/IAA、ABA/GA3、ZR/IAA、ZR/GA3比值逐渐升高;PAC+ETH处理的激素比值与PAC和ETH处理间均存在显著差异,在生理分化末期PAC+ETH处理的ABA/IAA、ABA/GA3、ZR/IAA、ZR/GA3比值均达到最大值,分别比对照提高317.49%、185.34%、310.58%、180.62%。成花促进基因FT在生理分化中期开始表达且表达量逐渐上调,SOC1、AP1、SVP和LFY基因在生理分化末期才明显表达;成花抑制基因TFL1在生理分化前期就开始表达且表达量逐渐下调。多效唑和乙烯利处理均能促进西克刺桐花芽分化进程和成花诱导,其中600 mg·L^(-1)PAC+50 mg·L^(-1)ETH处理的植株开花期提前12 d,枝条成花率达36.46%,植株总花期达55 d。【结论】西克刺桐花芽生理分化期喷施多效唑和乙烯利有利于提高碳氮代谢物质含量,调节内源激素水平和成花相关基因表达,有效促进西克刺桐花芽分化。 展开更多

为探讨褪黑素对盐胁迫下念珠刺桐生理机制的影响,以念珠刺桐幼苗为材料,进行盐胁迫(100 mmol/L NaCl)下叶片喷施外源褪黑素(0,50,100,150,200μmol/L)处理,研究外源褪黑素对盐胁迫下念珠刺桐生长、光合效率及抗氧化作用的影响.结果表明... 为探讨褪黑素对盐胁迫下念珠刺桐生理机制的影响,以念珠刺桐幼苗为材料,进行盐胁迫(100 mmol/L NaCl)下叶片喷施外源褪黑素(0,50,100,150,200μmol/L)处理,研究外源褪黑素对盐胁迫下念珠刺桐生长、光合效率及抗氧化作用的影响.结果表明,盐胁迫会显著抑制念珠刺桐的生长,降低渗透调节和抗氧化能力,以及光合作用.而在盐胁迫下通过叶片喷施100μmol/L褪黑素能够显著促进植株生长,提高可溶性糖和可溶性蛋白含量,减少电解质外渗,降低丙二醛含量,促进叶片中SOD、POD、CAT和APX活性的提高;提高叶绿素和类胡萝卜素含量,促进光合效率的提高;但高浓度(150,200μmol/L)外源褪黑素反而会产生一定程度的氧化胁迫和渗透胁迫.因此,100μmol/L外源褪黑素处理能较好地缓解盐胁迫下念珠刺桐的渗透胁迫、氧化胁迫和光合效能,有利于促进念珠刺桐生长. 展开更多

为研究刺桐姬小蜂在刺桐叶片上产卵危害及虫瘿分布特点,调查了鸡冠刺桐Erythrina cristagalli L.叶片上刺桐姬小蜂Quadrastichus erythrinae Kim虫瘿的数量和空间分布规律.结果表明,叶片上虫瘿主要分布于近叶柄处主脉两侧中下部区... 为研究刺桐姬小蜂在刺桐叶片上产卵危害及虫瘿分布特点,调查了鸡冠刺桐Erythrina cristagalli L.叶片上刺桐姬小蜂Quadrastichus erythrinae Kim虫瘿的数量和空间分布规律.结果表明,叶片上虫瘿主要分布于近叶柄处主脉两侧中下部区域,单个和2个虫瘿团的形式出现频次高于50%,以1—15个虫瘿团形式出现的虫瘿数量是相近的;鸡冠刺桐叶片上刺桐姬小蜂虫瘿呈聚集分布,且聚集程度较强,其分布形式符合负二项分布,分布的基本成分为个体群,且个体群大小随着虫瘿密度的变化呈幂方程形式增大,平均为10.9个;虫瘿聚集程度具有密度依赖性,即随着虫瘿密度增大,聚集强度也增大.虫瘿由均匀型格局向聚集型格局相互转化过程中聚集临界密度为每叶22.8个. 展开更多

依据刺桐不同品系叶片的形态和解剖特征,结合其对刺桐姬小蜂(Quadrastichu erythrinae)的抗性表现,探讨二者的相互关系,对于揭示植食性昆虫与寄主植物的相互关系,选育抗虫刺桐品系并推广种植具有重要意义。研究结果表明:刺桐高感品系的... 依据刺桐不同品系叶片的形态和解剖特征,结合其对刺桐姬小蜂(Quadrastichu erythrinae)的抗性表现,探讨二者的相互关系,对于揭示植食性昆虫与寄主植物的相互关系,选育抗虫刺桐品系并推广种植具有重要意义。研究结果表明:刺桐高感品系的叶片形状、厚度与高抗和中抗品系存在显著差异,可作为抗性鉴定的依据之一。从叶表微观形态来看,高抗品系上表皮不存在气孔器,上、下表皮的表皮细胞形状、大小均匀一致,排列致密,细胞间隙很小,表面密被霜状蜡质层保护,不利于刺桐姬小蜂侵入和产卵的构造;从叶片横切面结构上看,高感刺桐品系的栅栏组织、海绵组织、维管束鞘、上下表皮显著薄于高抗品系,且各内部组织细胞体积较大、排列疏松,不能有效抵御刺桐姬小蜂侵入与危害。同时,刺桐东方变种(Erythrina variegate var orientalis)HA1是高感品系,应禁止调运和引种;本地刺桐(E.variegate)HA2具有很强的抗虫性,宜于推广种植。 展开更多
