Reference values for these energies provide a benchmark for the validation of new software to calculate such potentials. In addition, basic atomic-scale electronic properties such as the (first) ionization energy provide a simple check on the approximation used in the calculation method. We present a comparison of the total energies and ionization energies of atoms Z = 1 - 92 calculated in density functional theory with several levels of exchange-correlation functional and the Hartree-Fock method, comparing ionization energies to experiment. We also investigate the role of relativistic treatment on these energies.展开更多

In order ...It is explicitly shown how the Schwarzschild Black Hole Entropy (in all dimensions) emerges from truly point mass sources at r=0due to a non-vanishing scalar curvature involving the Dirac delta distribution. In order to achieve this, one is required to extend the domain of r to negative values −∞≤r≤+∞. It is the density and anisotropic pressure components associated with the point mass delta function source at the origin r=0which furnish the Schwarzschild black hole entropy in all dimensions D≥4after evaluating the Euclidean Einstein-Hilbert action. Two of the most salient results are i) that the observed spacetime dimension D=4is precisely singled out from all the other dimensions when the strong and weak energy conditions are met, and ii) the point mass source described in this work is not the result of a spherically symmetric gravitational collapse of a star as described by the Oppenheimer-Snyder model because we are not neglecting the pressure. As usual, it is required to take the inverse Hawking temperature βHas the length of the circle Sβ1obtained from a compactification of the Euclidean time in thermal field theory which results after a Wick rotation, it=τ, to imaginary time. This approach can be generalized to the Reissner-Nordstrom and Kerr-Newman metrics. The physical implications of this finding warrant further investigation since it suggests a profound connection between the notion of gravitational entropy and spacetime singularities.展开更多

The results indicate that the small/large BH phase transition that is similar to the van der Waals(vdW) liquid/gas phase transition always exists for any spacetime dimensions. Interestingly, we then find that this BH system exhibits a more complex phase structure in 6-dimensional case that is missed in other dimensions.Specifically, it shows for D = 6 that we observed the small/intermediate/large BH phase transitions in a specific parameter region with the triple point naturally appeared. Moreover, when the magnetic charge turned off, we still observed the small/intermediate/large BH phase transitions and triple point only in 6-dimensional spacetime, which is consistent with the previous results. However, for the dyonic Ad S BHs with quasitopological electromagnetism in Einstein–Born–Infeld(EBI) gravity, the novel phase structure composed of two separate coexistence curves observed by Li et al. [Phys. Rev. D105 104048(2022)] disappeared in EGB gravity. This implies that this novel phase structure is closely related to gravity theories, and seems to have nothing to do with the effect of quasitopological electromagnetism. In addition, it is also true that the critical exponents calculated near the critical points possess identical values as mean field theory. Finally, we conclude that these findings shall provide some deep insights into the intriguing thermodynamic properties of the dyonic Ad S BHs with quasitopological electromagnetism in EGB gravity.展开更多

文摘Density functional theory(DFT)has been established as a powerful research tool for heterogeneous catalysis research in obtaining key thermodynamic and/or kinetic parameters like adsorption energies, enthalpies of reaction, activation barriers, and rate constants.Understanding of density functional exchangecorrelation approximations is essential to reveal the mechanism and performance of a catalyst. In the present work,we reported the influence of six exchange-correlation density functionals, including PBE,RPBE,BEEF+vdW,optB86b+vdW,SCAN,and SCAN+rVV10,on the adsorption energies, reaction energies and activation barriers of carbon hydrogenation and carbon-carbon couplings during the formation of methane and ethane over Ru(0001)and Ru(1011)surfaces.We found the calculated reaction energies are strongly dependent on exchange-correlation density functionals due to the difference in coordination number between reactants and products on surfaces. The deviation of the calculated elementary reaction energies can be accumulated to a large value for chemical reaction involving multiple steps and vary considerably with different exchange-correlation density functionals calculations. The different exchange-correlation density functionals are found to influence considerably the selectivity of Ru(0001)surface for methane, ethylene, and ethane formation determined by the adsorption energies of intermediates involved. However, the influence on the barriers of the elementary surface reactions and the structural sensitivity of Ru(0001)and Ru(1011)are modest. Our work highlights the limitation of exchange-correlation density functionals on computational catalysis and the importance of choosing a proper exchange-correlation density functional in correctly evaluating the activity and selectivity of a catalyst.

文摘Vibration quality is a vital indicator for assessing the progress of modern equipment. The dynamic vibration absorber(DVA)based on the acoustic black hole(ABH)feature is a new passive control method that manipulates waves. It offers efficient energy focalization and broad-spectrum vibration suppression, making it highly promising for applications in large equipment such as aircraft, trains, and ships.Despite previous advancements in ABH-DVA development, certain challenges remain, particularly in ensuring effective coupling with host structures during control. To address these issues, this study proposes a partitioned ABH-featured dynamic vibration absorber(PABH-DVA)with partitions in the radial direction of the disc.By employing a plate as the host structure, simulations and experiments were conducted, demonstrating that the PABH-DVA outperforms the original symmetric ABH-DVA in terms of damping performance. The study also calculated and compared the coupling coefficients of the two ABH-DVAs to uncover the mechanism behind the enhanced damping.Simulation results revealed that the PABH-DVA exhibits more coupled modes, occasionally with lower coupling coefficients than the symmetric ABH-DVA.The influence of frequency ratio and modal mass was further analyzed to explain the reasons behind the PABH-DVA's superior damping performance.Additionally, the study discussed the impact of the number of slits and their orientation. This research further explains the coupling mechanism between the ABH-DVA and the controlled structure, and provides new ideas for the further application of ABH in engineering.
文摘Calculation of total energies of the electronic ground states of atoms forms the basis for the frozen-core pseudopotentials used in atomistic calculations of much larger scale. We also investigate the role of relativistic treatment on these energies.

文摘●AIM:To introduce the macular hole(MH)hydromassage technique as a potentially beneficial approach for the treatment of large or persistent MH.●METHODS:This retrospective observational case series comprised 16 consecutive patients(17 eyes)diagnosed with MH.Inclusion criteria involved a hole aperture diameter larger than 600μm or the presence of an unclosed MH larger than 600μm following the previous vitrectomy.Standard MH repair procedures were administered in all cases, involving the manipulation and aspiration of the hole margin through the application of water flow with a soft-tip flute needle.A comprehensive assessment was conducted for each case before and after surgery, and optical coherence tomography(OCT)images were captured at every follow-up point.●RESULTS:The mean preoperative aperture diameter was 747±156μm(range 611-1180μm),with a mean base diameter of 1390±435μm(range 578-2220μm).Following surgery, all cases achieved complete anatomical closure of MH,with 13 cases(76.5%)exhibiting type 1 closure and 4 cases(23.5%)demonstrating type 2 closure. No significant differences were observed in the preoperative OCT variables between the two closure types.Eyes with type 1 closure showed a significantly improved visual acuity(0.70±0.10,range 0.50-0.80)compared to those with type 2 closure(0.90±0.12,range 0.80-1.00,P=0.014).●CONCLUSION:The MH hydromassage technique demonstrates promising results, achieving acceptable closure rates in cases of large or persistent MH.This technique may serve as an effective adjunctive maneuver during challenging MH surgery.
文摘Using the synchronous coordinates, the creation of a Schwarzschild black hole immersed in a de Sitter spacetime can be viewed as a coherent creation of a collection of timelike geodesics. The previously supposed conical singularities do not exist at the horizons of the constrained instanton.Instead, the unavoidable irregularity is presented as a nonvanishing second fundamental form elsewhere at the quantum transition 3-surface.The same arguments can be applied to charged, topological,or higher dimensional black hole cases.
文摘The nozzle inner-flow characteristic of the“spray G”injector was studied by the computational fluid dynamics(CFD)simulation, and the sensitivity of cycle fuel mass to the conicity and entrance radius of the nozzle hole were analyzed. Results show that the inner conicity of nozzle hole inhibits the development of cavitation phenomena, and increases the injection rate. While the outer conicity of nozzle hole promotes the diffusion of cavita-tion,leading to reductions of the liquid volume fraction of the nozzle outlet and the local flow resistance of the nozzle hole. The sensitivity of cycle fuel mass to inner-cone nozzle hole is stronger than that of the outer-cone noz-zle,especially at the smaller hole conicity. The increase of injection pressure enhances the sensitivity of the injection characteristics to the nozzle hole structure,in which inner-cone nozzle has higher sensitivity coefficient than the outer-cone nozzle hole. However, the increase of injection pressure aggravates the offset of liquid jet to the nozzle axis of the outer-cone nozzle hole. With the increase of the inner conicity of nozzle, the sensitivity of the injection characteristics to the entrance radius of the hole decreases. With the increase of the outer conicity of nozzle hole, the sensitivity of the injection characteristics to the entrance radius of the hole increases.

文摘Magnetic holes are magnetic depression structures that exist widely in many plasma environments. The magnetic holes with durations of>1 s in the solar wind at Mercury’s orbit have drawn much attention, but the properties of the magnetic holes with shorter durations are still unclear. Here,we investigate the magnetic holes with durations of 0.1-100 s in the upstream region of Mercury’s bow shock based on observations by the MESSENGER(MErcury Surface,Space ENvironment,GEochemistry, and Ranging)spacecraft. They can be divided into two groups according to the distribution of their duration:small-duration magnetic holes(SDMHs,<0.6 s)and large-duration magnetic holes(LDMHs,>0.6 s).The duration of each group approximately obeys a log-normal distribution with a median of~0.25 s and 3 s,respectively.Approximately 1.7%(32.6%)of the SDMHs(LDMHs)reduce the magnetic field strength by more than 50%.For both groups, some structures have a linear or quasi-linear polarization, whereas others have an elliptical polarization. The magnetic hole events in both groups tend to have a higher rate of occurrence when the interplanetary magnetic field strength is weaker.Their occurrence rates are also affected by Mercury’s foreshock, which can increase(decrease)the occurrence rate of the SDMHs(LDMHs).This finding suggests that Mercury’s foreshock might be one source of the SDMHs and that the foreshock can destroy some LDMHs.These observations suggest that a new group of magnetic holes with durations of<0.6 s exist in the upstream region of Mercury’s bow shock.

文摘We examine thermodynamic phase transition(PT)of the charged Gauss-Bonnet Ad S black hole(BH)by utilizing the shadow radius. In this system,we rescale the corresponding Gauss-Bonnet coefficientαby a factor of 1/(D-4),and ensure thatαis positive to avoid any singularity problems. The equation derived for the shadow radius indicates that it increases as the event horizon radius increases, making it an independent variable for determining BH temperature.By investigating the PT curve in relation to shadows,we can observe that the shadow radius can be used as an alternative to the event horizon radius in explaining the phenomenon of BH PT.Furthermore, the results indicate that an increase in the parameterαcorresponds to a decrease in the temperature of the BH.By utilizing the relationship between the temperature and the shadow radius,it is possible to obtain the thermal profile of the Gauss-Bonnet AdS BH.It is evident that there is an N-type variation in temperature for pressures P<P_(c).Additionally,as the parameterαincreases, the region covered by shadow expands while the temperature decreases. The utilization of BH shadows as a probe holds immense significance in gaining a deeper understanding of BH thermodynamic behavior.

文摘During the mining process of impact-prone coal seams, drilling pressure relief can reduce the impact propensity of the coal seam, but it also reduces the integrity and strength of the coal mass at the side of the roadway. Therefore, studying the mechanical properties and energy evolution rules of coal samples containing holes and filled structures has certain practical significance for achieving coordinated control of coal mine rockburst disasters and the stability of roadway surrounding rocks. To achieve this aim, seven types of burst-prone coal samples were prepared and subject to uniaxial compression experiments with the aid of a TAW-3000 electro-hydraulic servo testing machine.Besides, the stress–strain curves, acoustic emission signals,DIC strain fields and other data were collected during the experiments.Furthermore, the failure modes and energy evolutions of samples with varying drilled hole sizes and filling materials were analyzed. The results show that the indexes related to burst propensity of the drilled coal samples decline to some extent compared with those of the intact one,and the decline is positively corelated to the diameter of the drilled hole. After hole filling, the strain concentration degree around the drilled hole is lowered to a certain degree, and polyurethane filling has a more remarkable effect than cement filling.Meanwhile, hole filling can enhance the strength and deformation resistance of coal.Hole drilling can accelerate the release of accumulated elastic strain energy, turning the acoustic emission events from low-frequency and high-energy ones to high-frequency and low-energy ones, whereas hole filling can reduce the intensity of energy release. The experimental results and theoretical derivation demonstrate that hole filling promotes coal deformability and strength mainly by weakening stress concentration surrounding the drilled holes. Moreover, the fillings can achieve a better filling effect if their elastic modulus and Poisson’s ratio are closer to those of the coal body.

文摘Relationship between the hole concentration at room temperature and the Mg doping concentration in p-GaN grown by MOCVD after sufficient annealing was studied in this paper.Different annealing conditions were applied to obtain sufficient activation for p-GaN samples with different Mg doping ranges.Hole concentration, resistivity and mobility were characterized by room-temperature Hall measurements. The Mg doping concentration and the residual impurities such as H,C,O and Si were measured by secondary ion mass spectroscopy, confirming negligible compensations by the impurities. The hole concentration, resistivity and mobility data are presented as a function of Mg concentration, and are compared with literature data. The appropriate curve relating the Mg doping concentration to the hole concentration is derived using a charge neutrality equation and the ionized-acceptor-density[N-(A)^(-)](cm^(−3))dependent ionization energy of Mg acceptor was determined asE_(A)^(Mg)=184−2.66×10^(−5)×[N_(A)^(-)]1/3 meV.
文摘It is explicitly shown how the Schwarzschild Black Hole Entropy (in all dimensions) emerges from truly point mass sources at r=0due to a non-vanishing scalar curvature involving the Dirac delta distribution. The physical implications of this finding warrant further investigation since it suggests a profound connection between the notion of gravitational entropy and spacetime singularities.

文摘By considering the negative cosmological constant Λ as a thermodynamic pressure, we study the thermodynamics and phase transitions of the D-dimensional dyonic Ad S black holes(BHs) with quasitopological electromagnetism in Einstein–Gauss–Bonnet(EGB) gravity. Finally, we conclude that these findings shall provide some deep insights into the intriguing thermodynamic properties of the dyonic Ad S BHs with quasitopological electromagnetism in EGB gravity.

文摘In order to study and analyze the stability of engineering rock mass under non-uniform triaxial stress and obtain the evolution mechanism of the whole process of fracture,a series of conventional triaxial compression tests and three-dimensional numerical simulation tests were carried out on hollow granite specimens with different diameters. The bearing capacity of hollow cylindrical specimen is analyzed based on elasticity. The results show that:1)Under low confining pressure, the tensile strain near the hole of the hollow cylindrical specimen is obvious, and the specimen deformation near the hole is significant. At the initial stage of loading, the compressive stress and compressive strain of the specimen are widely distributed. With the progress of loading, the number of microelements subjected to tensile strain gradually increases, and even spreads throughout the specimen;2)Under conventional triaxial compression, the cracking position of hollow cylinder specimens is concentrated in the upper and lower parts, and the final fracture mode is generally compressive shear failure. The final fracture mode of complete specimen is generally tensile fracture.Under high confining pressure, the tensile cracks of the sample are concentrated in the upper and lower parts and are not connected, while the cracks of the upper and lower parts of the intact sample will expand and connect to form a fracture surface;3)In addition, the tensile crack widths of intact and hollow cylindrical specimens under low confining pressure are larger than those under high confining pressure.

文摘(Ga,Fe)Sb is a promising magnetic semiconductor(MS)for spintronic applications because its Curie temperature(T_(C))is above 300 K when the Fe concentration is higher than 20%.However,the anisotropy constant Ku of(Ga,Fe)Sb is below 7.6×10^(3)erg/cm^(3)when Fe concentration is lower than 30%,which is one order of magnitude lower than that of(Ga,Mn)As.To address this issue,we grew Ga_(1-x-y)Fe_(x)Ni_(y)Sb films with almost the same x(≈24%)and different y to characterize their magnetic and electrical transport properties. We found that the magnetic anisotropy of Ga_(0.76-y)Fe_(0.24)Ni_(y)Sb can be enhanced by increasing y,in which Ku is negligible at y=1.7%but increases to 3.8×10^(5)erg/cm^(3)at y=6.1%(T_(C)=354 K).In addition, the hole mobility(μ)of Ga_(1-x-y)Fe_(x)Ni_(y)Sb reaches 31.3 cm^(2)/(V∙s)at x=23.7%,y=1.7%(T_(C)=319 K),which is much higher than the mobility of Ga_(1-x)Fe_(x)Sb at x=25.2%(μ=6.2 cm^(2)/(V∙s)).Our results provide useful information for enhancing the magnetic anisotropy and hole mobility of(Ga,Fe)Sb by using Ni co-doping.

文摘We study thermodynamics of charged AdS black hole surrounded by quintessence in a new formalism which is called the restricted phase space thermodynamics. This context is based on Visser’s holographic thermodynamics with a fixed antide Sitter radius and a variable Newton constant. The conjugate variables, central charge C and the chemical potential m,are introduced as a new pair of thermodynamic variables. We find that the iso-e-charge T-S curve becomes non-monotonic when Q<Q_(c).Correspondingly,the F-T curve exhibits a swallow tail structure. This behavior is considered as a van der Waals-like phase transition. As the value of b related to the energy density of Kiselev’s fluid becomes larger, the critical temperature T_(c)will decrease. Thus, the van derWaals-like phase transition will occur at lower temperature. There is always a non-quilibrium transition from a small unstable black hole to a large stable black hole state in the isocoltage T-S process. There exist a maximum and a Hawking-Page phase transition points in theμ-C plane. As the value of b related to Kiselev’s fluid becomes larger, the Hawking-Page phase transition will occur at lower temperature in the isovoltageμ-T process. For other values of the state parameterω,there also exists van der Waals-like phase transition.

文摘We calculate the thermodynamic quantities in the quantum corrected Reissner-Nordstr?m-AdS(RN-AdS)black hole, and examine their quantum corrections.By analyzing the mass and heat capacity,we give the critical state and the remnant state, respectively, and discuss their consistency. Then,we investigate the quantum tunneling from the event horizon of massless scalar particle by using the null geodesic method, and charged massive boson W^(±)and fermions by using the Hamilton-Jacob method. It is shown that the same Hawking temperature can be obtained from these tunneling processes of different particles and methods.Next,by using the generalized uncertainty principle(GUP),we study the quantum corrections to the tunneling and the temperature. Then the logarithmic correction to the black hole entropy is obtained.
