Teaching Experiment in Engineering Mechanics Based on Simulation Technology:A Case Study

This paper explores the integration of simulation technology in Engineering Mechanics(EM)teaching in vocational colleges.A case study was conducted using the tensile test as an example,and digital resources,such as colored Mises stress nephograms,were obtained.These resources were integrated into the original curriculum to conduct teaching experiments.The results show that the use of digital resources significantly improved the quality of teaching in EM.The integration of simulation technology in EM teaching provides a promising direction for the improvement of vocational education and the cultivation of high-quality skilled talents.The development and application of more simulation-based teaching cases should be studied by scholars.

On Critical Thinking Skill Cultivation in EFL Teaching

Critical thinking has been recognized internationally as an essential skill for high-quality talents.This article analyzes what the experimental researches on cultivating critical thinking skills in EFL teaching have achieved and identifies the three weaknesses to be addressed in the future.Firstly,there are divergences among scholars on the concept and subskills of critical thinking.Secondly,the teaching modes and methods explored by the experimental researches are more personalized than systematic,which reduces their application and guidance value.Thirdly,the reliability and validity of the experiments need to be improved,and the cultivation practices tend to improve the critical thinking skills of some students,without considering the differences among students,especially the students with relatively poor language proficiency.

Application of Intravenous Indwelling Needle in Undergraduate's Pharmacology Teaching Experiment

In this study,an intravenous indwelling needle was placed in the central artery of rabbit ear for collecting blood.The results show that this method greatly improves the success rate of blood sampling and well controls the experimental time.The students'unanimous feedback was that the method is simple and easy to operate,which is of great help to the stability of the experimental results.

Survey and Analysis on Present Situation of Biological Experiment Teaching in Some Middle Schools in Yangjiang Area

Experimental teaching is an important part of biology teaching in middle school.In the form of questionnaire,this paper conducts a survey on some leading teachers of biology in the middle schools in the Yangjiang area about the biological experiment teaching in the implementation of the new curriculum,and analyzes the results of the survey.The problems and deficiencies in the implementation of biological experiment teaching in some middle schools in this area are found,and the relevant reform measures and suggestions are put forward in order to promote the better development of biological experiment teaching in middle schools.

A Teaching Experiment between Design Concept and Structural Behaviour： Full-Scale Constructions in a Second-Year Studio

Consciousness is the main quality one can ask architecture students. Consciousness means the ability to recognize that the design process is a ＂problem solving＂ activity and not an exercise of uncontrolled imagination. In architectural education, small structures are a common subject in American and European universities where the inductive teaching is practiced routinely. This teaching experiment is developed within a design studio course in the second year of an architecture degree course and regards design and construction of a small bridge l：l scale. The exercises focus on the role of structural behaviour within architectural design. The teaching method contributes to the perception of the great complexity of the design process, to the acquisition of an attitude of prudence in design choices and to attention to detail in the development of creativity.

Reform of Paleontology Experiment Teaching for Geology Majors

Due to the development of science and technology and the transformation of society’s demand for talents of geology majors,many changes have taken place in the arrangement of teaching hours and teaching content of paleontology experiment teaching.The paleontology experiment teaching of geology majors has problems such as unreasonable experiment design,no independent experiment arrangement,single teaching method,absence of experiment contents,etc.the article believes that the reform should be made in the following aspects:setting up independent experiment teaching arrangement,improvement of experiment teaching design,continuing to improve the laboratory hardware and software construction,reform of teaching methods.

Application of Functional Training in College Volleyball Teaching

Volleyball Teaching in Colleges and universities is faced with multiple challenges, such as the teaching content is simple, the training method is single, the students’ physical quality is poor, the physical condition of the physical condition is the guarantee of volleyball technology. This research is on body function training on volleyball teaching methods of this technology in the project, the function of training system into the volleyball technique teaching, through the method of experimental teaching method to verify the function of training to the technical level of the student volleyball has been effectively improved.

Discussion on the Teaching of Traditional Chinese Medicine (Acupuncture and Moxibustion) in Myanmar

Acupuncture has been popular in foreign countries in recent years,especially in the treatment of neck pain,lower back pain,and other neurological diseases.As a result,many countries have started to invite TCM teachers from China to train their medical workers in Traditional Chinese Medicine(Acupuncture).The teaching of Traditional Chinese Medicine(Acupuncture and Moxibustion)in Myanmar has been carried out for 2 years.Through the feedback from students in the teaching process,this paper analyzes and summarizes the problems in the hope of drawing on and developing the overseas teaching system of traditional Chinese medicine in the future.

A Teaching Experiment in Modelling through Scale Reduction Methods： A Bridge to Later Trigonometric Methods

In a teaching experiment, Japanese Grade 9 students investigated how to measure the height of an aerial balloon using different models involving angles and distances, and also to evaluate the models they developed. As novices to mathematical modelling, they needed to decide which of several possible models were both valid and practicable, and the errors in measurement that are likely to arise. Opportunities to construct and use paper models, as scale reductions of the real situation, and discussing their results in small groups were effective in moving forward the thinking of many students on the dimensions mentioned above. While students were less able to identify different sources of errors, many came to appreciate the need to learn trigonometric techniques that are more suitable in dealing with problems of this kind.

Research on the Cultivation of Innovative Talents in Software Engineering Based on the OBE Concept

Under the background of New Engineering,focusing on talent cultivation,this article explores the teaching reform and innovation of software engineering majors.Starting from the goal of cultivating software engineering talents in the context of New Engineering,the concept of outcome-based education is introduced to study and explore the construction of innovative talent training models for software engineering majors in universities.Through recent years’application practice,initial results have been achieved,which can provide feasible methods and ideas for the cultivation of innovative talents in other majors.

Computer Management of Quantitative Analysis Chemistry Experiment

The application of computer in the quantitative analysis chemistry experiment is a chemistry experiment teaching applications software, developed by Visual Basic （6.0）, based on the content of quantitative analysis chemistry experiment of chemistry major in higher institute. The Dynamism of Teachers＇ Identity： The Case of Iranian EFL Teachers

Recent conceptualizations of professional identity as an ongoing process of interpretation and re-interpretation of experiences demonstrate that it is dynamic and subject to an ongoing learning process. In effect, identity is essentially viewed as fluid, dynamic, recursive, and discursive process in which statements about actions are translated into statements about states, and vice versa. Having these standpoints in mind, the present paper aims at depicting the profile of English as a foreign language （EFL） teachers＇ professional identity. The second purpose of this study is to examine the relationships among the components of teachers＇ professional identity as measured by Kao and Lin＇s （2015） model comprising six latent factors of teachers＇ professional identity： self-expectation （SE）, teachers＇ duties （TD）, external influential factors （EF）, pedagogy （PE）, instructional skills and knowledge （SK）, and teachers＇ citizenship behavior （CB）. This study also sought to scrutinize the dynamics of teachers＇ identity in accordance with their teaching experience, gender, and educational level. For these purposes, 110 EFL teachers were chosen from different language institutes in Mashhad, a city in northeastern Iran. The results indicated that SE received the highest value and EF obtained the lowest mean score in our sample. The highest correlation was observed between SK and PE, followed by the relationship between TD and PE. The results indicated that there were significant correlations between teachers＇ teaching experience and all the teachers＇ identity components. It was also found that there were statistically significant differences between male and females in four components of identity as follows： TD, PE, SK, and CB. The results showed that there were variations in teacher identity with regards to their educational level.

A Little Experience in Teaching and Studying English

I learned in childhood to recite(withoutunderstanding)some classical literature,such as the Four Books and some chaptersof Zuo Zhuan,but apart from that I neverformally studied English or any other libe-ral arts subject.Therefore I can only dis-cuss this subject from a very limited experience.

Teaching and practice of pharmaceutical comprehensive study in China

Pharmaceutical comprehensive study(PCS) is a new system of experimental teaching in China, which integrates multidisciplinary pharmaceutical knowledge and covers the basic process of new drug discovery. To explore the feasibility of this experiment teaching system and mode, we developed PCS as an elective course. The PCS is designed with two sections: pharmaceutical comprehensive design(PCD) and pharmaceutical comprehensive experiment(PCE). The PCD section includes literature review, comprehensive project design and oral examination. PCE can be divided into four parts: synthesis, quantitative determination, pharmacodynamic evaluation, and formulation and quality determination. Course grade was determined by experimental performance, written report, literature review, new project design and oral examination. The learning interest, experimental ability, theoretical level and literature retrieval ability, team spirit and interpersonal skills have been all significantly improved among students taking this course. A survey was administered at the end of the semester to the enrolled students. The responses were reported as percentages, and the feedback was positive. The course was highly recommended by the teaching inspection committee. This new course plays an important role in developing students’ creativity and comprehensive ability. It could help students understand the focus and features of every secondary discipline, as well as establish scientific and reasonable knowledge system. Most students can better understand the process of drug research after this course.

An Analysis and Validation Toolkit to Support the Undergraduate Course of Computer Organization and Architecture

As an important part of the computer organization and architecture(COA)course,the experiment teaching is generally about the computer system design.Students use the hardware description languages(HDLs)tools to implement the computer system on the Field Programmable Gate Array(FPGA)based platform.However,the HDLs tools are made for expert hardware engineers and the computer system is a very complex hardware project.It is hard for students to implement their computer system design in the limited lab hours.How to help students get the design validation and find the failure root is important in COA experiment teaching.To this end,an analysis and validation toolkit which is special for COA experiment teaching is designed.For two main steps of FPGA-based hardware design,waveform simulation and on-board testing,two packages were implemented for them respectively.The comparison results of using and not using our toolkit show it improves the effectiveness of experiment teaching greatly.
