In contrast with B0-ˉB0, Bs-ˉBs mixing where the standard model(SM) contributions overwhelm that of the new physics beyond standard model(BSM), a measured relatively large D0-ˉD0mixing where the SM contribution is negligible, definitely implies the existence of the new physics BSM. It is natural to consider that the rare decays of D meson might be more sensitive to new physics, and the decay mode D0→μ+μ-could be an ideal area to search for new physics because it is a flavor changing process. In this work we look for a trace of the new physics BSM in the leptonic decays of D0. Concretely we discuss the contributions of unparticle or an extra gauge boson Z while imposing the constraints set by fitting the D0-ˉD0mixing data. We find that the long-distance SM effects for D0→lˉl still exceed those contributions of the BSM under consideration, but for a double-flavor changing process such as D0→μ±e, the new physics contribution would be significant. 展开更多

Prospects for rare and forbidden hyperon decays at BESⅢ

The study of hyperon decays at the Beijing Electron Spectrometer Ⅲ (BESⅢ) is proposed to investigate the events of J/φ decay into hyperon pairs, which provide a pristine experimental environment at the Beijing Electron-Positron Collider Ⅱ. About 10^6-10^8 hyperons, i.e., ∧, ∑, ∈, and Ω, will be produced in the J/φ and φ(2S) decays with the proposed data samples at BESⅢ. Based on these samples, the measurement sensitivity of the branching fractions of the hyperon decays is in the range of 10^-5-10^-8. In addition, with the known center-of-mass energy and "tag technique", rare decays and decays with invisible final states can be probed. 展开更多

General scan in flavor parameter space in models with vector quark doublets and an enhancement in the B→X_sγ process

In models with vector-like quark doublets, the mass matrices of up and down type quarks are related.Precise diagonalization of the mass matrices has become an obstacle in numerical studies. In this work we first propose a diagonalization method. As its application, in the Standard Model with one vector-like quark doublet we present the quark mass spectrum and Feynman rules for the calculation of B → Xsγ. We find that i) under the constraints of the CKM matrix measurements, the mass parameters in the bilinear term are constrained to a small value by the small deviation from unitarity; ii) compared with the fourth generation extension of the Standard Model, there is an enhancement to the B → Xsγ process in the contribution of vector-like quarks, resulting in a non-decoupling effect in such models. 展开更多

Over the last few years LHCb found some discrepancies in b → sl^+l^-FCNC transitions, including anomalies in the angular observables of B→K^*μ^+μ^-, particularly in P′5, in the low dimuon mass region. Recently... Over the last few years LHCb found some discrepancies in b → sl^+l^-FCNC transitions, including anomalies in the angular observables of B→K^*μ^+μ^-, particularly in P′5, in the low dimuon mass region. Recently,these anomalies have been confirmed by Belle, CMS and ATLAS. As direct evidence of physics beyond the Standard Model is absent so far, these anomalies are being interpreted as indirect hints of new physics. In this context, we study the implications of the family non-universal Z′ model for the angular observables P(1,2,3), P′(4,5,6) and newly proposed lepton flavor universality violation observables, Q(4,5), in the B → K^*(→Kπ)μ^+μ^-decay channel in the low dimuon mass region. To see the variation in the values of these observables from their Standard Model values, we have chosen different scenarios for the Z′ model. It is found that these angular observables are sensitive to the values of the parameters of the Z′ model. We have also found that with the present parametric space of the Z′ model,the P′5-anomaly could be accommodated. However, more statistics on the anomalies in the angular observables are helpful to reveal the status of the considered model and, in general, the nature of new physics. 展开更多

Flavor Changing Top Quark Decay and Bottom-Strange Production in the Littlest Higgs Model with T-parity

Flavor changing effects on the processes t → ch, e+e- → bs, e+e-→ bsh and pp → bs in the LHT model are investigated in this paper. We calculate the one-loop level contributions from the T-parity odd mirror fermion... Flavor changing effects on the processes t → ch, e+e- → bs, e+e-→ bsh and pp → bs in the LHT model are investigated in this paper. We calculate the one-loop level contributions from the T-parity odd mirror fermions and gauge bosons. The results show that the top quark rare decay t → ch in the LHT model can be significantly enhanced relative to that in the SM. The bs production at linear colliders in the LHT model can enhance the SM cross section a lot and reach 0.1 fb in some parameter space allowed in the experiment. But the heavy gauge boson and mirror fermion loops have small contribution to the processes pp → bs and e+e-→ bsh. So the LHT effect on e+e-→ bs might be detected at future linear colliders, while it is too small to be seen for the e+e-→ bsh and pp → bs processes at future linear colliders and LHC. 展开更多
