There is a long history of studying and making use of ductile cast iron in China.Over the years,the foundrymen in China have carried out a lot of valuable research and development work for measuring parameters and con...There is a long history of studying and making use of ductile cast iron in China.Over the years,the foundrymen in China have carried out a lot of valuable research and development work for measuring parameters and controlling the quality in ductile cast iron production.Many methods,such as rapid metallographic phase,thermal analysis,eutectic expansion ratio,surface tension measurement,melt electrical resistivity,oxygen and sulfur activity measurement,ultrasonic measurement and sound frequency measurement,have been used and have played important roles in Chinese casting production in the past.These methods can be generally classified as liquid testing and solid testing according to the sample state.Based on the analysis of the present situation of these methods applied in the Chinese metal casting industry,the authors consider that there are two difficult technical problems to be currently solved in monitoring ductile iron quality.One is to seek an effective method for quickly evaluating the nodularizing result through on-the-spot sample analysis before the liquid iron is poured into the mould.The other is to find a nondestructive method for accurately identifying casting quality before castings are delivered.展开更多
To compensate for the shortcomings of quasi-static law in anti-fatigue analysis of foundry crane metal structures,the fatigue life evaluation method of foundry crane metal structure considering load dynamic response a...To compensate for the shortcomings of quasi-static law in anti-fatigue analysis of foundry crane metal structures,the fatigue life evaluation method of foundry crane metal structure considering load dynamic response and crack closure effect is proposed.In line with the theory of mechanical vibration,a dynamic model of crane structure during the working cycle is constructed,and dynamic coefficients under diverse actions are analysed.Calculation models of the internal force dynamic change process of dangerous cross-sections and a simulation model of first principal stress-time history are established by using the steel structure design criteria,which is utilised to extract the change of first principal stress of danger points over time.Then,the double-parameter stress spectrum is obtained by the rain flow counting method.The fatigue life calculation formula is corrected by introducing a crack closure parameter that can be calculated by the stress ratio and the effective stress ratio.Under the finite element model imported into Msc.Patran,crack propagation analysis is performed by the growth method in the fatigue integration module Msc.Fatigue.Taking the metal structure of a 100/40t-28.5m foundry crane with track offset as an example,the accuracy of calculation results and the feasibility and applicability of the proposed method are verified by theoretical calculation and finite element simulation,which provide a theoretical basis for improvement of the fatigue resistance design of foundry cranes.展开更多

The discipline of foundry at Shenyang University of Technology (SUT) was founded in 1952, and began to enroll postgraduate students in 1979. And in 1981, the discipline was qualified to confer master’s degree, which ...The discipline of foundry at Shenyang University of Technology (SUT) was founded in 1952, and began to enroll postgraduate students in 1979. And in 1981, the discipline was qualified to confer master’s degree, which was one of the first majors who had the right in China. And in 1984, she was granted as the key discipline by the former Chinese Ministry of Machinery Industry. In 1998, according to the new Catalogue for Undergraduate Specialties issued by the Ministry of Education, the discipline of foundry was adjusted to be involved by the new generalized discipline of Materials Processing Engineering. The new discipline was granted as one of the key disciplines of Liaoning province, and was qualified to have the right of conferring doctor’s degree the same year. The discipline of foundry at SUT has a very strong staff of teaching and scientific research. At present, there are 23 staff members, including 1 academician (dual employment), 5 doctoral supervisors, 10 professors, 4 associate professors, 3 lecturers, 1 senior research engineer,展开更多

This study aims to remove the metals(inorganic and heavy metals) in waste foundry sand(WFS)via chemical washing method. Washed waste foundry sand(WWFS) samples were obtained by using triptych washing successively with...This study aims to remove the metals(inorganic and heavy metals) in waste foundry sand(WFS)via chemical washing method. Washed waste foundry sand(WWFS) samples were obtained by using triptych washing successively with 5 M HCl, 5 M H_2SO_4 and 5 M NaOH solutions. Analysis on functional groups,micropores, heavy metals,and inorganic components of WFS and WWFS was carried out by using FT-IR, SEM and XRF. Results show that the concentration values of some inorganic components such as Ca, Fe, Mg, S were decreased, and the maximum removal percentage of these inorganic components are 47%, 19%, 32%, and 8%,respectively. The concentration values for each of the heavy metals of WWFS are below of limit values given in App-3 List of Regulation on General Principles of Waste Management. The removal percentages of Pb, As and Zn elements are 100%, 71%, and 40%, respectively. The findings of this research suggest that WWFS can be used in more applications due to its ability to remove heavy metals and some other inorganic components.展开更多
