上海自近代开埠以来,基于经济和社会变革的巨大刺激,涌现出一批代表当时国内最新潮流、最高技术、最前沿设计思想的经典建筑,尤其以外滩建筑群最为典型。本文以上海外滩和平饭店南楼为例,讨论其被断定为不同风格的理由,并从设计思想、装饰细部、建筑材料等方面分析得“文艺复兴”风格的判定,随后对室内环境设计的特征与演变做出探究,从建筑本体视角切入,以期厘清和平饭店南楼的建造技术水平与建筑风格演变。
