Outbreak Information Delivery to Families with (Pre)School Children and Its Contribution

Background: Infection transmission among them occurs easily and sometimes causes outbreaks at facilities where children live in groups. Early response is necessary for infection control measures to avoid larger clusters. In Japan, (Nursery) School Absenteeism Surveillance System ((N)SASSy), which is a kind of school absenteeism surveillance, has activated since 2007 and covers about 60% of all schools and 40% of all nursery schools in 2017. Objective: The objective of the present paper is investigation and demonstration of how caregivers receive information related to infectious diseases in Japan and how (N)SASSy contributes health of children. Method: We randomly selected subjects with children by pre-fecture in October, 2017. The survey questionnaire asked background information and information about infectious diseases to maintain health in children. We regressed health concern variables on background information and information provision situation about community outbreaks using weighted logistic regression. Results: We received responses from 1172 people. Estimation results showed higher concern about a facility providing information about community outbreak. Caregivers whose children attend facilities provided about community outbreak or covered (N)SASSy significantly higher opportunity to arrange a schedule when a child has a high fever. Discussion: The obtained results demonstrated that activation in (N)SASSy affects the possibility of arranging a schedule when a child has a high fever. Background: The prevention of cardiovascular disease (CVD) can substantially contribute to reducing the mortality rate across countries. The level of interest in cholesterol among experts increases when the subjects are elderly and obese individuals. However, specialists do not recommend that children should receive the cholesterol test. The objective of this study was to investigate the distribution of cholesterol levels among the children of public school and their parents’ lifestyles that are associated with cholesterol levels, and to assess the need for and utility of cholesterol testing in school settings. Methods: The study investigated a group of 226 fourth-grade public school children aged between 9 and 10 years and guardians in Akitakatacity of Hiroshima Prefecture, Japan. Multiple regression analyses were performed with the logarithmic value of cholesterol levels as a response variable, awareness about lifestyles and health of children as an explanatory variable, and child’s sex and body mass index (BMI) as moderating variables. Using questionnaires about lifestyles, the step-down procedure was applied in multiple regression analyses to narrow down relevant lifestyle variables. Results: The percentage of children with the high total cholesterol (TC) value was about 15 and with low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol value was about 10. Children with low high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol value were 5%. Treatment was not required according to the comprehensive assessment. Cholesterol levels were associated with the situation of the children and their guardians as follows, guardian need to consider the food, and child has the correct knowledge about food like how to eat snacks. Conclusions: Children had poor cholesterol levels. From childhood, along with the parents, there is a need to learn about appropriate level of cholesterol for CVD prevention. 展开更多

Comparison Study of Art Therapy and Play Therapy in Reducing Anxiety on Pre-School Children Who Experience Hospitalization 被引量:1

At the pre-school children, the stress of the disease makes children become less able to cope with separation. As a result, many children show anxious behavior though more vague than toddler age children. Various ways have been conducted by nurses to treat anxiety in children, but the most effective types of the intervention have not be found. Types of intervention that can be done are art therapy and play therapy. This study aims to compare the effects of art therapy and play therapy in reducing anxiety on children who experience hospitalization. A quasi-experimental research design with pre-post test two group design is used. The sample was 23 children pre-school age for art therapy group and 25 children for play therapy with sampling techniques performed purposive sampling. Intervention of art therapy and play therapy each performed for 3 days with duration about 30 minutes. Anxiety levels before and after the intervention were measured by using the facial affective scale. The results show that there is a difference in anxiety between before and after the action in the art therapy group (p = 0.00) and that there are differences in anxiety before and after the action in the play therapy group (0.00). But statistical tests using Man Whitney U indicate that there is no difference in anxiety levels in pre-school children who do art therapy and play therapy (p = 0.26). So, it is concluded that the art therapy and the play therapy can reduce the level of anxiety on pre-school school children that experience hospitalization. Based on these conclusions, it is recommended that the art therapy and the play therapy can be used by nurses and the choice of the intervention should be submitted to the child. 展开更多

Purpose: The objective of the present study was to identify the type of experiences that parents and their children have with each other when late-school age children take on roles in family routines related to daily meals. Methods: A grounded theory approach was used. The participants were children in the 4th, 5th, and 6th grades of elementary school and their main caregivers. First, 10 parent and child dyads were interviewed using a semi-structured schedule. Next, online group interviews were conducted for 17 parent and child dyads to deductively confirm the categories. Results: The average age of the subjects was 41.9 years for parents and 10.4 years for children in parent-child interviews, and 41.1 years for parents and 9.6 years for children in group interviews. Six categories emerged with nineteen subcategories. Conclusions: Experiences mutually nurtured by parents and their children included experiences in which children used negotiation and conversation skills to consensually engage in family routines related to meals. It also included experiences that socialized the children in family life and fostered good communication. The six categories will be useful for healthcare professionals and school authorities in providing health guidance that addresses health functions of late school-age children and their families. 展开更多

Background: It is known that, for reasons of hygiene and/or anxiety, some first year primary school children actively choose to avoid going to the toilet whilst at school, while at the same time many young children’s primary care visits are due to urinary tract and bowel problems. By this age most children can recognise the bodily signals indicating the need for a toilet visit, and can independently perform the associated routines. Aim of this study was to describe the experience of healthy 5 to 6 years old when needing and using toilets whilst at pre-school. Methods: A qualitative descriptive method was used. Seventeen children aged 5 to 6 years were interviewed. Results: Nearly all used the toilet when the need arose, but there were times during the day when their freedom to use the toilet was restricted. Most children experienced periods of waiting outside the toilet and a long wait could result in a decision to not use it. On those occasions when help was needed, it was usually necessary to shout once or more in order to attract the teacher’s attention. Some children found the toilets clean and fresh while others found them dirty and smelly. Privacy during toilet visits was desirable among the children but queue outside the toilet was a cause of worry. Conclusion: The children were mostly able to use the toilet whilst at preschool, despite the challenges to their senses and integrity and occasionally issues with the teacher’s rules. The need for privacy often had to yield to the teacher’s need to control the children or even because toilet doors and/or locks were not adapted to the children’s requirements. 展开更多

目的:探讨功能锻炼衣在学龄前期上肢骨折患儿功能锻炼中的应用效果。方法:选取2022年1月—6月浙江省某三级甲等儿童医院骨科创伤中心收治的60例学龄前期上肢骨折患儿作为研究对象,按照住院号末位奇偶数随机分为试验组和对照组各30例。... 目的:探讨功能锻炼衣在学龄前期上肢骨折患儿功能锻炼中的应用效果。方法:选取2022年1月—6月浙江省某三级甲等儿童医院骨科创伤中心收治的60例学龄前期上肢骨折患儿作为研究对象,按照住院号末位奇偶数随机分为试验组和对照组各30例。试验组在术后第1天穿带卡通图案可拆卸计数球体,显示屏可计数、带播报器的印有卡通人物形象的衣服(功能锻炼衣)进行功能锻炼,每天3次,每次100下,为期3个月。对照组穿普通衣物在相同时间进行传统握力球进行功能锻炼。比较两组术后2个月肘关节、尺桡关节的关节活动度、术后2周生活自理能力得分、上肢骨折相关并发症情况及家长满意度情况。结果:试验组患儿关节活动度、日常生活自理能力得分、家长满意度均高于对照组;上肢骨折后术后的肿胀程度低于对照组,差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05)。结论:带卡通计数球,球体可计数可拆卸的功能锻炼衣能提高学龄前期上肢骨折患儿关节活动度、日常生活自理能力、家长满意度,减轻学龄前期上肢骨折患儿术后上肢的肿胀程度。 展开更多

时间匹配程度对学龄儿童通学出行方式的影响

改善学生与家长的通勤时间约束、优化或转变儿童通学出行方式是缓解拥堵、提升安全的有益选择。基于时间地理学理论,提出儿童通学时间与家长通勤时间的匹配程度测度方法,划分时间制度约束型、出行时间宽裕型和出行时间约束型三种时间匹... 改善学生与家长的通勤时间约束、优化或转变儿童通学出行方式是缓解拥堵、提升安全的有益选择。基于时间地理学理论,提出儿童通学时间与家长通勤时间的匹配程度测度方法,划分时间制度约束型、出行时间宽裕型和出行时间约束型三种时间匹配值类型。采用多项Logit模型分析父母不同时间匹配值类型对儿童通学出行方式的影响。结果表明,家长与儿童的时间匹配程度会影响儿童通学出行方式选择。在不同时间匹配值类型条件下,儿童通学出行方式与家长性别高度关联。上学出行中,母亲与儿童在时间制度约束下小汽车出行比例增加;放学出行中父亲受到时间制度约束反而会增加儿童步行通学出行的概率。因此,制定鼓励学生步行通学出行的政策时要重视时间制度与上下学时间情境的影响。 展开更多

目的:评估自制口腔科普视频对引导家长促进学龄前儿童口腔健康的临床效果,为探索更有效的口腔宣传教育新形式提供思路。方法:选择2022年7月—9月就诊于上海市徐汇区牙病防治所的104名3~6岁低龄儿童龋患儿,随机分为干预组(52名)和对照组... 目的:评估自制口腔科普视频对引导家长促进学龄前儿童口腔健康的临床效果,为探索更有效的口腔宣传教育新形式提供思路。方法:选择2022年7月—9月就诊于上海市徐汇区牙病防治所的104名3~6岁低龄儿童龋患儿,随机分为干预组(52名)和对照组(52名)。在入组时、入组1个月及6个月时,进行随访和口腔健康教育。对照组接受常规椅旁宣教,干预组在对照组基础上让家长观看自制儿童口腔科普视频。比较入组1个月及6个月时,2组儿童家长口腔健康知信行状况、儿童菌斑指数和龋失补牙面数。采用SPSS 26.0软件包对数据进行统计学分析。结果:入组1个月及6个月时,干预组家长口腔健康知信行问卷总分(86.445±7.156,85.694±5.880)显著高于对照组[82.571(77.286,88.142),81.853±7.482],干预组菌斑指数[2.014±0.403,1.895(1.250,2.100)]显著低于对照组[2.400(2.238,2.575),2.008±0.393],差异均有统计学意义(P<0.05)。干预组与对照组的龋失补牙面数无显著差异(P>0.05)。结论:自制口腔科普视频能改善学龄前儿童的口腔卫生状况,提高家长的口腔健康知信行水平,是一项较为有效的科普宣传新形式。 展开更多

以护士为主导的出院准备干预对学龄前反复喘息患儿症状控制的影响

目的探讨以护士为主导的出院准备干预对学龄前反复喘息患儿出院后症状控制的影响。方法以2020年10月—2023年3月收治的99例学龄前反复喘息患儿及其照护者为研究对象,随机分为对照组和干预组。对照组接受常规出院护理指导。干预组在按常... 目的探讨以护士为主导的出院准备干预对学龄前反复喘息患儿出院后症状控制的影响。方法以2020年10月—2023年3月收治的99例学龄前反复喘息患儿及其照护者为研究对象,随机分为对照组和干预组。对照组接受常规出院护理指导。干预组在按常规出院护理指导基础上,实施以护士为主导的出院准备干预。根据出院准备度-父母版量表评分、改良中文版儿童呼吸和哮喘控制测试(test for respiratory and asthma control in kids,TRACK)问卷评分以及患儿症状控制指标的变化情况,对2组的干预效果进行评估和比较。结果出院准备度总分及其疾病知识、自身状况、出院后应对、可获得的社会支持维度评分,干预组分别为195.28±5.23、74.52±1.72、63.22±1.64、25.18±2.09、32.36±3.71,对照组分别为177.82±7.98、69.84±6.22、57.22±5.33、22.39±2.83、28.37±3.95,干预组各项评分均显著高于对照组(P<0.01)。TRACK问卷评分,2组患儿出院日的评分无显著差异;出院后1、3、6个月随访时,干预组评分分别为80.60±6.52、85.60±5.61、88.10±5.28,对照组评分分别为78.47±6.71、83.47±5.23、83.88±5.52,干预组显著优于对照组(P<0.05)。在症状控制指标的喘息发作和因喘息就诊方面,干预组的表现优于对照组(P<0.001)。结论实施以护士为主导的出院准备干预,可提高学龄前反复喘息患儿照护者的出院准备度,有利于患儿喘息症状控制。 展开更多

叙事学视角下学前儿童戏曲教学的创新策略

目的 了解当地学龄前期儿童家长喂养现状,分析家长喂养行为与儿童体质指数(BMI)的相关性,为降低儿童肥胖率、改善学龄前期儿童饮食状况提供科学依据。方法 采用随机分层整班抽样方法,选取南通市有代表性的6所不同等级幼儿园共768名儿童... 目的 了解当地学龄前期儿童家长喂养现状,分析家长喂养行为与儿童体质指数(BMI)的相关性,为降低儿童肥胖率、改善学龄前期儿童饮食状况提供科学依据。方法 采用随机分层整班抽样方法,选取南通市有代表性的6所不同等级幼儿园共768名儿童作为研究对象,通过体格测量、儿童喂养问卷(CFQ)调查收集数据。结果 收回有效问卷756份,儿童消瘦、超重、肥胖检出率分别为8.3%(63人)、10.2%(77人)、15.7%(119人)。7个维度中,与喂养有关的父母责任分值,年级主效应差异有统计学意义,表现为小班、中班、大班依次递减(F=4.14,P<0.05)。超重、肥胖男童父母对孩子体重的感知、父母对孩子体重的担心分值均高于消瘦、正常男童,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。文化程度大专及以下的母亲逼迫进食得分明显高于文化程度本科及以上的母亲,差异有统计学意义(P<0.05)。家长喂养行为中,监督饮食与母亲体重正常组儿童的BMI呈负相关,逼迫进食与家庭收入10~20万组儿童的BMI呈负相关(P<0.05)。母亲文化程度、父母对孩子体重的感知与逼迫进食呈负相关,与喂养有关的父母的责任与限制饮食、逼迫进食、监督饮食均呈正相关(P<0.05)。结论 当地学龄前期儿童肥胖率较高,不同年级、性别儿童家长喂养相关的感知和态度有差异,喂养行为差异不大。父母喂养行为与儿童BMI有相关性,高水平监督饮食、低水平限制饮食及逼迫进食可能有助于预防和控制儿童超重和肥胖的发生。母亲文化程度、母亲自身营养状态、家庭收入、父母喂养的责任心对喂养行为的影响较大。 展开更多

The lack of population-level data on growth and development of children and adolescents in Ecuador, and the existence of previous data suggesting an alarming increase in the numbers of children presenting overweight or obesity justifies the present cohort study which includes all pupils of municipal schools of Quito aged 9 to 17 years. Follow-up will continue for a minimum of 7 years. This will allow determining the evolution of prevalence of these phenomena and their trends as well as other indices, both physiological and family-related customs, in order to plan appropriate preventive interventions. The present cross-sectional study includes 21 municipal schools, grouped into four health zones, each of which depends on a health centre, also municipal, and which are responsible for the health of pupils in these schools. Of the 6964 pupils studied, 18.7% suffer overweight and 7.9% obesity: 19.3% and 9.7% respectively in boys, compared to 18.2% and 5.4% in girls. The study also assesses family characteristics, degree of sedentarism and nutritional habits: 62.3% declared living in a nuclear family, and 60.5% declared their families to be in the “adolescent” life-cycle stage;91.9% of pupils were sedentary while 5.4% (CI95% 4.87 - 5.94) reported not eating breakfast every day. 展开更多
