Mechanical properties and wear resistance of the ...The Fe40Mn40Cr10Co10/TiC (volume fraction of TiC, 10%) composites were synthesized in combination of ball milling and spark plasma sintering (SPS) in the present work. Mechanical properties and wear resistance of the Fe40Mn40Cr10Co10/TiC composites were individually investigated. It was found that TiC particles homogenously distributed in the Fe40Mn40Cr10Co10/TiC composite after being sintered at 1373 K for 15 min. Meanwhile, grain refinement was observed in the as-sintered composite. Compared with the pure Fe40Mn40Cr10Co10 medium entropy alloy (MEA) matrix grain, addition of 10% TiC particles resulted in an increase in the compressive strength from 1.571 to 2.174 GPa, and the hardness from HV 320 to HV 872. Wear resistance results demonstrated that the friction coefficient, wear depth and width of the composite decreased in comparison with the Fe40Mn40Cr10Co10 MEA matrix. Excellent mechanical properties and wear resistance could offer the Fe40Mn40Cr10Co10/TiC composite a very promising candidate for engineering applications.展开更多

The temperature range was 900–1150℃ and t...Hot compression tests were performed to investigate the hot deformation behavior of Fe–27.34Mn–8.63Al–1.03C lightweight steel and optimize the hot workability parameters. The temperature range was 900–1150℃ and the strain rate range was 0.01–5 s^(-1)on a Gleeble-3800 thermal simulator machine. The results showed that the flow stress increased with decreasing deformation temperature and increasing strain rate. According to the constitutive equation, the activation energy of hot deformation was 422.88 kJ·mol^(-1). The relationship between the critical stress and peak stress of the tested steel was established, and a dynamic recrystallization kinetic model was thus obtained. Based on this model, the effects of strain rate and deformation temperature on the volume fraction of dynamically recrystallized grains were explored. The microstructural examination and processing map results revealed that the tested steel exhibited a good hot workability at deformation temperatures of 1010–1100℃ and strain rate of 0.01 s^(-1).展开更多

A proper addition of Mn to Fe-C alloys could delay the isothermal transformation and change remarkably the TTT-curves to bay-like shape.The concentration of Mn at the α/γ interphase boundary and thir partition betwe...A proper addition of Mn to Fe-C alloys could delay the isothermal transformation and change remarkably the TTT-curves to bay-like shape.The concentration of Mn at the α/γ interphase boundary and thir partition between α- and γ- phase were measured by STEM/TEM-EDAX.The results show that the partition of Mn diminishes gradually as the reaction temperature decreases.There exists a certain temperature range with the strong- est Mn concentration spike at the interphase although no Mn partition is found between austenite and ferrite,and this temperature range is correspondent with the bay-temperature on TTT curves of the alloys.It is thus suggests that the change of TTT-curve configuration is due to the partition of alloy elements.The bay-like shape is attributed to the solute drag ef- fect and the solute drag-like effect caused by the enrichment of Mn at the α/γ interphase.展开更多
