It was found that the changes in the DNA structure due to Fe(Ⅱ) EDTA breaking DNA result in the increasing of a reduction peak current of DNA on HMDE, indicating that the electrochemical methods are hopeful to be used as an auxiliary means for probing changes in the DNA structure. Furthermore, the standard rate constant of the surface reaction k s was determined as 0.59 s -1 .
