Three new records of lycopsids and ferns from Vietnam

Three new records from Vietnam,Phlegmariurus guangdongensis Ching,Adiantum longzhouensis A.H.Wang,F.G.Wang&F.W.Xing,and Lepisorus bicolor Ching,are reported.The identification characteristics,information of specimen,and geographical distribution of the species are described.The discovery of new records not only enriches the study of plant diversity in Vietnam,but also provides important information for biodiversity conservation and botanical research in the region.The voucher specimens are kept in the Herbarium of Kunming Institute of Botany,Chinese Academy of Sciences(KUN),Herbarium of Institute of Botany,Chinese Academy of Sciences(PE)and Herbarium of Guangxi Forestry Research Institute(GXFI).

A New Species and Two New Records of Megaselia Rondani (Diptera: Phoridae) from China

A new Megaselia species： Megaselia angustirostris Fang ＆ Liu, sp. nov., is described and illustrated and two species of the genus, M. nigra （Meigen） and M. albicaudata （Wood）, are reported for the first time from China. The type specimens are deposited in College of Biological and Environmental Engineering, Shenyang University.

New species and new records of diatoms from Xiamen Harbour

In planktonic diatom samples collected from Xiamen Harbour, Xiamen,Fujian,China from January 1983 to December 1984, two species and varieties are new to science and three species are recorded for the first time in China. New species is Tropidoneis constricta Li,Cheng et Chin sp. nov. ,new variety is Fragilaria longissima v. protenta Li,Cheng et Chin var. nov. ,new recorded species are FragUaria heidenii Ostrup.F.oceanica Cleve and Thalassiosira punctigera Hasle.

One new species and two new records of free-living marine nematodes from the Huanghai Sea

One new species of free-living marine nematode of the genus Curvolaimus, Curvolaimus filiformis sp. nov. from the Huanghai Sea is described and illustrated. This new species is characterized by the buccal cavity teeth, large amphids and two ventral seta at the conical part of tail. Meanwhile, two new records of genus Halalaimus, Halalaimus longicaudatus and H. isaitshikovi are fast reported in China. Types are deposited in the College of Marine Life Sciences, Ocean University of China.

Taxonomy notes on Vandeae(Orchidaceae)from China:Five new species and two new records

Five new species(Gastrochilus yei,Gastrochilus minimus,Luisia simaoensis,Taeniophyllum xizangense,Tuberolabium subulatum)and two newly recorded species(Cleisostoma tricornutum,Luisia inconspicua)of Vandeae(Orchidaceae)from China are described and illustrated.Gastrochilus yei is similar to G.affinis and G.nepalensis,but differs from them by having an epichile not lobed,the apex of the hypochile not bilobed,and a tine on the apex of the leaf.Gastrochilus minimus is similar to G.acinacifolius,but can be distinguished from the latter by having a flabellate epichile that is densely hirsute on the adaxial surface and an inconspicuous central cushion;in addition,the hypochile of G.minimus has a keel that extends to the apex of the epichile.Taeniophyllum xizangense is similar to T.stella and T.radiatum,but it is distinguished from them by having much bigger flowers,inflorescences densely covered with short-bristly hairs,papillae on the external surface of sepals,and bigger triangular-ovate viscidium.Luisia simaoensis is similar to L magniflora and L ramosii,but can be easily distinguished from them by having lateral sepals longer than dorsal sepals and petals,lip with irregular and waved margins,and lip with bilobed apex.Luisia inconspicua is moved from Gastrochilus to Luisia based on phylogenetic analyses of plastid matK sequence data.Tuberolabium subulatum is similar to T.camosum,but it can be easily distinguished from the latter by having an inflorescence much shorter than the leaves,yellow sepals and petals,and many small papillae outside the lip lobes.

Three new records of Lumbrineridae Schmarda,1861(Annelida:Polychaeta)species in China

Three species of Lumbrineridae, Helmutnerisflabellicola （Fage, 1936）, Lurnbrinerides dayi Perkins, 1979, and Ninoe japonica Imajima ＆ Higuchi, 1975, are reported from the material collected between 1959 and 1994 from the Yellow Sea, East China Sea, and South China Sea. These species are not previously recorded from Chinese waters. Systematic descriptions and morphological illustrations of the species are provided in this paper.

Five New Records of Free-living Marine Nematodes in the Yellow Sea

Five species of free-living marine nematodes are redescribed and illustrated as new records in the Yellow Sea of China. These species include one monhysterid, Campylaimus gerlachi in the family Diplopeltidae and four enoplids species, Oxystomina elongata, Oxystomina elegans, Halalaimus lutarus and Halalaimus wodjanizkii in the family Oxystominidae. Ecological and taxonomic remarks are provided and discussed in comparison with the original description. The key to all known species of the genus Campylaimus is given. Our findings have offerred the taxonomic information of nematodes to the benthic ecology and biodiversity studies of the Yellow Sea.

Morphological studies of six free-living spirotrichean ciliates (Protozoa： Ciliophora) with three new records from the coastal South China Sea

The living morphology and infraciliature of six spirotrichous ciliates collected from the coastal South China Sea were investigated using live observation and protargol impregnation. These are Euplotes woodruffi Gaw, 1939, Hemigastrostyla enigmatica （Dragesco and Dragesco-Kerneis, 1986） Song and Wilbert, 1997, Neourostylopsis flavicana （Wang et al., 2011） Chen et al., 2013, Protogastrostyla pulchra （Perejaslawzewa, 1886） Gong et al., 2007, Pseudoamphisiella alveolata （Kahl, 1932） Song and Warren, 2000, and PseudokahlieUa marina （Foissner et al., 1982） Berger et al., 1985. Among these, Protogastrostyla pulchra, Pseudoamphisiella alveolata and PseudokahlieUa marina are reported from the South China Sea for the first time, which manifest obvious differences apart from other Chinese populations. As new contribution, the detailed description of isolates from mangrove habitat of E. woodruffi and 1t. enigmatica, and aquaculture pond isolate of N.flavicana, are present.

Four New Records of Assassin Bugs (Hemiptera: Reduviidae: Harpactorinae) from Iran

Four harpactorine species of assassin bugs, Coronus contrarius Reuter, Rhynocoris annulatus （Linnaeus）, Rhynocoris rubrogularis （Horvath）, and Vachiria deserta （Becker）, are newly recorded from Iran.

Three New Records of Gastropoda(Mollusca) from the Nansha Islands,China

The Nansha Islands, China, have extremely high marine biodiversity and hundreds of mollusks have been reported there. Benthos resources investigations of the intertidal and subtidal zone around the Nansha Islands have been continuously performed for decades, and recently, dozens of new species and new records of mollusks have been reported from this area. This paper dealt with three new record species of the Gastropoda from Chinese waters: Cerithium salebrosum Sowerby II, 1855, Vexillum militare(Reeve, 1845) and Vexillum bizonale(Dautzenberg et Bouge, 1923), respectively belonging to three families: Cerithiidae Fleming, 1822, and Costellariidae Mac Donald, 1860. All specimens were collected from the Nansha Islands during the benthos resources investigations on the intertidal zone of islands and reefs in the South China Sea in recent years. Diagnosis and geographic descriptions of both genus and species, illustrations of each species were given in this contribution, and discussion of taxonomy, identification features and faunal characteristics were presented. All examined specimens were deposited in the Marine Biodiversity Collections of South China Sea, Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Four new records of caridean shrimp (Crustacea： Decapoda： Caridea) from the East China Sea and South China Sea

Four species of caridean shrimps collected from the East China Sea and South China Sea represent new records for the Chinese waters： Lysmata kempi Chace, 1997; Lysmata lipkei Okuno and Fiedler, 2010; Chlorocurtisjactans （Nobili, 1904） and Rhynchocinetes conspiciocellus Okuno and Takeda, 1992. The diagnostic characters and illustrations of these four species are presented, with remarks on their taxonomy. The identification keys of these species from Chinese waters are provided.

A new species of Zanclognatha Lederer and three new records of the families Erebidae and Noctuidae(Lepidoptera,Noctuoidea)from Korea,with notes on larval feeding habits

A new species of Zanclognatha Lederer,1857 of the family Erebidae,Z.querciella sp.n.,one species of Family Erebidea,Asota egens(Walker,1854)and two species of Family Noctuidae:Meganephria retinea Gyulai and Ronkay,1999 and Amphipyra subrigua Bremer and Grey,1853,are reported for the first time from Korea.In addition,larval feeding habits with their host plants for three species are newly recognized from Korea.Illustration of adults,larvae for Zanclognatha querciella and Meganephria retinea,and the genitalia of male or female for all species are provided.

Two new records of Pyramidellidae(Gastropoda,Heterobranchia)from China seas

This paper reports two species of the family Pyramidellidae (Gastropoda, Heterobranchia), Otopleura nitida (A. Adams, 1854) and Rugadentia manzakiana (Yokoyama, 1922). The former was from the South China Sea and the latter was from the Yellow Sea and East China Sea. The study was based on the collections deposited in the Marine Biological Museum, Chinese Academy of Sciences. This is for the first time that these species have been recorded in China seas. In the current contribution, we describe and illustrate these two species, and compare them with similar species.

Three new records of deep-water goniasterids (Echinodermata:Asteroidea:Goniasteridae) from China seas

In this paper,three deep-water species of the family Goniasteridae,Ceramaster misakiensis(Goto,1914),Nymphaster arthrocnemis Fisher,1913 and Pontioceramus grandis Fisher,1911,are recorded for the first time from Chinese waters based on collections deposited in the Marine Biological Museum,Chinese Academy of Sciences.The specimens examined were collected during the period 1956 to 1978 from the East China and South China Seas at depths of 184 to 472 m.Diagnosis,detailed figures,and the geographic distributions are provided.A revised list of Goniasteridae recorded from Chinese waters is proposed.

Four new records of fish species （Cypriniformes： Nemacheilidae, Balitoridae; Characiformes： Prochilodontidae） and corrections of two misidentified fish species （Tetraodontiformes： Tetraodontidae; Beloniformes： Belonidae） in Yunnan, China

In this study, six fish species of five families are reported for the first time from Yunnan Province, China. The nemacheilid Schistura arnplizona Kottelat, 2000 is reported from the Luosuojiang River and Nanlahe River subbasins, Mekong basin; the prochilodontid Prochilodus lineatus （Valenciennes, 1837）, the balitorid Vanmanenia serrilineata Kottelat, 2000, and the tetraodontid Monotrete turgidus Kottelat, 2000, from Nanlahe River subbasin, Mekong basin; the balitorid Beaz^fortia daon （Mai, 1978）, and the belonid Xenentodon canciloides （Bleeker, 1854）, both, from Black River subbasin, Red River basin. The freshwater puffer M. turgidus and the needlefish ,E canciloides have been previously misidentified as Tettraodon leiurus （Bleeker, 1950） and Tylosurus strongylurus （van Hasselt, 1823）, respectively.

Five new records of Xanthidae(Crustacea:Brachyura)from Hainan Island,China

Five new records of the family Xanthidae are reported from China:Hypocolpus haanii Rathbun,1909,Neoliomera variolosa(A.Milne-Edwards,1873),Leptodius australis Ward,1936,L.davaoensis Ward,1941,and Xanthias joanneae Mendoza,2013.The specimens were collected from Hainan Island and deposited in the Marine Biological Museum,Chinese Academy of Sciences.Diagnosis based on observation,photographs,line drawings,and some taxonomic discussions are provided.

Six Thallus Surface Types of Coralline Algae with Descriptions of Two New Records of Amphiroa beauvoisii and Neogoniolithon setchellii in Sanya reef,China

Coralline algae are globally distributed calcifying species and play critical ecological roles to marine ecosystems by contributing significantly to their structural complexity and diversity.Thallus surface types of historical samples in Sanya coral reef reserve were studied based on the scanning electron microscope(SEM)method.Our results show six thallus surface types within the study area:Corallina-type,Jania-type,Leptophytum-type,Phymatolithon-type,Pneophyllum-type,and Spongites-type.The Phymatolithon-type is the dominant surface type in Sanya reefs.Two new record species in the region are described:Amphiroa beauvoisii and Neogoniolithon setchellii.Although thallus surface types provide useful diagnostics characters for distinguishing coralline algae at tribe or subfamily level,species identification needs to refer to the reproductive features.This is the first surface study of coralline algae in the South China Sea.This result provides the baseline data needed for the monitoring and management of reef-building organisms of coral reef in China.

Notes on jumping spiders from Xizang:three new species and two new records in China(Araneae,Salticidae)

Three new species of jumping spiders from the Xizang region,China are described:Evarcha darthvaderi Yu&Zhang,sp.nov.(♂♀),Orcevia qogyigyacani Yu&Zhang,sp.nov.(♀),Synagelides yadong Ni,Yu&Zhang,sp.nov.(♀).Two species are newly recorded in China:Phlegra prasanna Caleb&Mathai,2015 and Ptocasius urbanii(Żabka,1981),and the female of P.prasanna is described for the first time.

TWO NEW SPECIES AND TWO NEW RECORDS OF THE GENUS ETHMIA HUBNER (LEPIDOPTERA: OECOPHORIDAE) FROM CHINA

The present paper deals with two new ethmid moths from China: Ethmia damaoshanae sp.nov. and Ethmia jingdongensis sp.nov. Another two species Ethmia dodecea (Haworth) and Ethmia ultima Sattler are reported for the first time from the country. The genitalia of the new species are figured.

New records of Pentatomidae(Hemiptera:Heteroptera) from China

Three genera, Cuspicona Dallas, Hermolaus Distant and Oncinoproctus Breddin, and six species （Cuspicona antica Vollenhoven, Hermolaus typicus Distant, Menida atkinsoni Distant, Oncinoproctus griseolus Breddin, Paterculus aberrans Distant, and Rolstoniellus malacanicus （Yang）） of Pentatomidae are reported from China for the first time. Both dorsal and ventral habitus and genital illustrations of each species are provided. All specimens studied were from Institute of Entomology, Nankai University, Tianjin, China （NKUM） except Cuspicona antica Vollenhoven, 1868 whose involved species are kept at the Institute of Zoology, Chinese Academy of Sciences （IZCAS）.
