Tabletop integral imaging display with a more realistic and immersive experience has always been a hot spot in three-dimensional imaging technology,widely used in biomedical imaging and visualization to enhance medical diagnosis.However,the traditional structural characteristics of integral imaging display inevitably introduce the flipping effect outside the effective viewing angle.Here,a full-parallax tabletop integral imaging display without the flipping effect based on space-multiplexed voxel screen and compound lens array is demonstrated,and two holographic functional screens with different parameters are optically designed and fabricated.To eliminate the flipping effect in the reconstruction process,the space-multiplexed voxel screen consisting of a projector array and the holographic functional screen is presented to constrain light beams passing through the corresponding lens.To greatly promote imaging quality within the viewing area,the aspherical structure of the compound lens is optimized to balance the aberrations.It cooperates with the holographic functional screen to modulate the light field spatial distribution.Compared with the simulation results,the distortion rate of the imaging display is reduced to less than 9%from more than 30%.In the experiment,the floating high-quality reconstructed three-dimensional image without the flipping effect can be observed with the correct 3D perception at 96°×96°viewing angle,where 44,100 viewpoints are employed. 展开更多

However, CFP cannot he used in a system with many users like in a group environment system. A transmutation of CFP named T-CFP is proposed in this paper. The precondition of T-CFP is the system's user trusts the system center and center's cheating is meaningless at the same time. The significant difference between CFP and T-CFP is that CFP supports only two users while T-CFP can support many users to exchange special information. The security and efficiency of T-CFP are discussed with a detailed example on T-CFP utilization is demonstrated in this paper. 展开更多

The synthesis,structure,and properties of pyrene-based conformationally adaptive macrocycles are described.This new type of conformationally adaptive macrocycle was constructed through Perkin reaction,followed by imidization.By changing the condensation partner as the linking unit,a family of conjugated macrocycles with different sizes of the cavity was synthesized,which provide a simple and modular synthetic strategy towards the conformationally adaptive macrocycles.Furthermore,the macrocycles provide two well-defined conformations through flipping pyrene subunit,which were unambiguously determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.The conformational interconversion barrier was determined by density functional theory(DFT)calculations.This new macrocycle also demonstrated unique properties,such as vapochromic behavior and aggregation emission enhancement effect.Furthermore,we have also investigated the effect of the linker on the shape and photophysical properties of the resulting macrocyclic products. 展开更多

Magnetite Fe304 (ferrite) has attracted considerable interest for its exceptional physical properties: It is predicted to be a semimetallic ferromagnetic with a high Curie temperature, it displays a metal-insulator transition, and has potential oxide-electronics applications. Here, we fabricate a high-magnetization (〉 1 Tesla) high-resistance (-0.1 Ωcm) sub-nanostructured (grain size 〈 3 nm) Fe304 film via grain-size control and nano-engineering. We report a new phenomenon of spin- flipping of the valence-spin tetrahedral FeB* in the sub-nanostructured Fe304 film, which produces the high magnetization. Using soft X-ray magnetic circular dichroism and soft X-ray absorption, both at the Fe L3,2- and O K-edges, and supported by first-principles and charge-transfer multiple calculations, we observe an anomalous enhancement of double exchange, accompanied by a suppression of the superexchange interactions because of the spin-flipping mechanism via oxygen at the grain boundaries. Our result may open avenues for developing spin- manipulated giant magnetic Fe304-based compounds via nano-grain size control. 展开更多

Examining Electrostatic Influences on Base-Flipping:A Comparison of TIP3P and GB Solvent Models

Recently,it was demonstrated that implicit solvent models were capable of generating stable B-form DNA structures.Specifically,generalized Born(GB)implicit solvent models have improved regarding the solvation of conformational sampling of DNA[1,2].Here,we examine the performance of the GBSW and GBMV models in CHARMM for characterizing base flipping free energy profiles of undamaged and damaged DNA bases.Umbrella sampling of the base flipping process was performed for the bases cytosine,uracil and xanthine.The umbrella sampling simulations were carried-out with both explicit(TIP3P)and implicit(GB)solvent in order to establish the impact of the solvent model on base flipping.Overall,base flipping potential of mean force(PMF)profiles generated with GB solvent resulted in a greater free energy difference of flipping than profiles generated with TIP3P.One of the significant differences between implicit and explicit solvent models is the approximation of solute-solvent interactions in implicit solvent models.We calculated electrostatic interaction energies between explicit water molecules and the base targeted for flipping.These interaction energies were calculated over the base flipping reaction coordinate to illustrate the stabilizing effect of the explicit water molecules on the flipped-out state.It is known that nucleic base pair hydrogen bonds also influenced the free energy of flipping since these favorable interactions must be broken in order for a base to flip-out of the helix.The Watson-Crick base pair hydrogen bond fractions were calculated over the umbrella sampling simulation windows in order to determine the effect of base pair interactions on the base flipping free energy.It is shown that interaction energies between the flipping base and explicit water molecules are responsible for the lower base flipping free energy difference in the explicit solvent PMF profiles. 展开更多

Objective:To explore the application effect of flipped classroom combined with case-based learning teaching methods in pharmacoeconomics teaching.Methods:The students majoring in clinical pharmacy in 2019 were selected as the study subjects,and the cost-effectiveness analysis of different dosage forms of Yinzhihuang in the treatment of neonatal jaundice was selected as the teaching case.The flipped classroom combined with case-based learning teaching method was used to carry out theoretical teaching to the students.After the course,questionnaires were distributed through the Sojump platform to evaluate the teaching effect.Results:The results of the questionnaire showed that 85.71%of the students believed that the flipped classroom combined with case-based learning teaching method was helpful in mobilizing the learning enthusiasm and initiative,and improving the comprehensive application ability of the knowledge of pharmacoeconomics.92.86%of the students think that it is conducive to the understanding and memorization of learning content,as well as the cultivation of teamwork,communication,etc.Conclusion:Flipped classroom combined with case-based learning teaching method can improve students’knowledge mastery,thinking skills,and practical application skills,as well as optimize and improve teachers’teaching levels. 展开更多

Thermodynamic Insights of Base Flipping in TNA Duplex: Force Fields, Salt Concentrations, and Free-Energy Simulation Methods

Threofuranosyl nucleic acid(TNA)is an analogue of DNA with a shift in the internucleotide linkages from the wild-type 5’-to-3’direction to 3’-to-2.’This alteration leads to higher chemical stability,less reactive groups,and lower conformational flexibility.Experimental observations indicate that these characteristic changes are attributable to a minimal perturbation of the interaction network,but the thermodynamic stability of the duplex remains unaltered in the TNA mutation.We applied the equilibrium and nonequilibrium free-energy simulations employing three popular assisted model building with energy refinement(AMBER)force fields for nucleotides to investigate this mutation-dependent behavior in the base flipping from T(DNA)residue to the T-to-TFT mutation(TNA)computationally.The force fields were performed similarly,as described in the base-paired state.However,after exploring the high-energy regions with free-energy simulations,we observed that these three force fields behaved differently.Previous reports conclude that the net-neutral and excess-salt simulations provided similar results.Nonetheless,our free-energy simulation indicated that the presence of excess salt affected the thermodynamic stability.The free-energy barrier along the base-flipping pathway was generally elevated upon the addition of excess salts,but the relative height of the free-energy barriers in DNA and TNA duplexes did not change significantly.This phenomenon emphasizes the importance of adding sufficient salts in the simulation scheme to reproduce the experimental condition. 展开更多

AIM:To evaluate the flipped classroom model for teaching horizontal strabismus didactics in an ophthalmology residency program in China as part of a visiting professorship from the United States.METHODS:Residents from an ophthalmology residency program in China were invited to participate in flipped classroom sessions taught by an experienced American ophthalmology faculty in 2018.Residents were instructed to watch a pre-class video lecture prior to the in-class-casebased activity.Content tests(5 Ophthalmic Knowledge Assessment Program style questions)and surveys were administered before and after the classroom sessions(100%response rate).These results were compared to that of an American cohort who were taught the same content.RESULTS:The Chinese cohort of 12 residents preferred the flipped classroom to the traditional classroom at higher rates than the American cohort of 40 residents(92%vs 55%,P=0.04)and felt that all ophthalmology topics would be appropriate for the flipped classroom teaching style(P-values between 0.008 and<0.001).In both Chinese and American cohorts,we found that the exotropia curriculum saw a small but significant improvement in performance following the flipped classroom session(P=0.025 for Chinese residents;P=0.001 for US residents),whereas scores in both groups for the esotropia course did not significantly improve.CONCLUSION:This is the first study to evaluate the flipped classroom model implemented by a visiting ophthalmology professor in a global outreach setting.The flipped classroom sessions are viewed favorably by the Chinese residents relative to the US cohort with a modest impact on knowledge.Decreased in-person interpreter requirement and increased student engagement make this model valuable in cross-cultural visiting professorship settings.Finally,the flipped classroom may lend itself well to a virtual format to prevent the transmission of COVID-19,although such a format requires further study. 展开更多

The revolutionary online application ChatGPT has brought immense concerns to the education field.Foreign language teachers being some of those most reliant on writing assessments were among the most anxious,exacerbated by the extensive media coverage about the much-fantasized functionality of the chatbot.Hence,the article starts by elucidating the mechanisms,functions and common misconceptions about ChatGPT.Issues and risks associated with its usage are discussed,followed by an in-depth discussion of how the chatbot can be harnessed by learners and teachers.It is argued that ChatGPT offers major opportunities for teachers and education institutes to improve second/foreign language teaching and assessments,which similarly provided researchers with an array of research opportunities,especially towards a more personalized learning experience. 展开更多
