Energy transfer in LaOBr:Tb_(0.0075),Gd_x(x<0.30)was investigated via excitation spectra, emission spectra, fluorescence decay function and X-ray diffraction.Effective energy transfer from Gd to Tb was found. With excitation of λ=275nm,no Gd^(3+)but only Tb^(3+)emission has been observed, and the integrated intensity of Tb^(3+)emission increases with increasing Gd content up to~5.5 times(in the sample of x=0.30)compared to that of the sample without Gd.The existense of Gd in the sample slows down the Tb^(3+)flourescence decay, and most likely the electric dipole-dipole interaction dominates the energy transfer process. 展开更多

DNA has the genetic information storage and transmission capacity according to the sequential order of the monomer and creates a central role in the chemical evolution by copying itself with the proliferation feature. Watson-Crick base pairs define two base pairs with hydrogen bonds. If metal coordination bonds replace hydrogen bonds more stable alternative metallo-DNA sequence can be established. If the replication feature can be obtained for the metallo-DNA, this will greatly benefit the creation of DNA computer keys. In this study, a new type of benzimidazole based metallo-DNA sensors consisting of a connector unit that unsaturated azinil bridge linked to Watson-Crick base pairs with Ni2+, Hg2+, Zn2+, Ag+, Pt2+, Pd2+ metal cations and a benzimidazole has been designed. Absorption and emission spectrum of the newly designed aqua medium based fluorophore and their metallo-DNA sensors with selected cations have been theoretically investigated by using DFT method. The logic gates of selected possible sensors which response in the visible region have also been examined in detail in acidic and water phase. As a result of calculated absorption-emission spectrum data show that T-Hg-A-Bnz, A-Ni-T-Bnz, C-Pt-G-Bnz, C-Ni-C-Bnz complexes produce OR gate. T-Zn-T-Bnz and G-Pt-C-Bnz results demonstrated XOR and AND logic gate, respectively. 展开更多

Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) has become an important tool both for defining initial chromosomal abnormalities within a disease process, and for monitoring response to therapy as well as minimal residual disease. We report the results of interphase FISH (iFISH) analysis of 92 patients. We have used five different FISH probes to detect common cytogenetic rearrangements associated with hematological malignancies. A total of 83 patients were screened for BCR/ABL gene rearrangements. Displayed iFISH patterns of BCR/ABL gene rearrangements in 37.3% of patients (31/83) ranged between 10% to 98%. In addition, while 3 patients and one patient with AML showed t(15;17) (12.5%) and inv(16;16) (8.3%) respectively, t(8;21) was not found. Furthermore, secondary chromosomal aberrations (6.5% of all cases) were clearly non random in the present study. The diagnosis of BCR/ABL gene rearrangements are likely become an important tool for the monitoring of therapies in patients with CML. Atypical patterns also may have clinical prognostic implications. Further studies in larger groups of patients are needed in order to elucidate the role of AML1/ETO, PML/RARA, CBFB and p53, and to identify the specific chromosomal regions and interacting genes involved in this process. 展开更多

It is well known that zinc ions play an indispensable role in the structure and function of a large number of biological process and relevant bio-macromolecules. When some cancers occurred, the relevant concentration of zinc ions considerably decreased. Since cancer cells have a completely different redox homeostasis from normal cells, in this contribution, we have explored the possibility of bio-imaging or labeling of cancer cells through the in situ biosynthesized zinc nanoclusters by cancerous cells. The results demonstrate that we can readily realize the in vivo fluorescent bio-imaging of cancer cells through the in situ biosynthesis of the biocompatible zinc nanoclusters from cancerous cells (i.e., Hela cervical carcinoma cell line and others) when target cells cultured with micromolar zinc gluconate solutions. 展开更多
