In twin-roll strip casting process,transport phenomena of fluid in the molten pool directly affect the process stability and the quality of products.In order to elucidate the fundamental transport phenomena in twin-ro...In twin-roll strip casting process,transport phenomena of fluid in the molten pool directly affect the process stability and the quality of products.In order to elucidate the fundamental transport phenomena in twin-roll casting,a commercial software called ProCAST was employed to simulate the transient fluid flow and level profile behaviors during the early stage of the process in this study.The coupled set of governing differential equations for mass,momentum and energy balance were solved with the finite element method and the transient free surface problem was treated with a volume of fluids(VOF) approach.The effect of different delivery systems configuration on flow pattern,level profile in the pool was studied and analyzed in this paper. The new wedge metal delivery systems have been optimized for the twin-roll strip caster.It was shown that new type metal delivery systems had a preferable effect on the uniform distribution of fluid and level fluctuation in the pool.The simulation results also provide a valuable basis for the optimization of delivery system and process parameters during the initial pouring stage.展开更多
The objective of the study was to investigate the effects of dietary energy levels and sources on the blood metabolites,hormone secretion and the composition of follicular fluid in gilts.Fifty-four gilts with initial ...The objective of the study was to investigate the effects of dietary energy levels and sources on the blood metabolites,hormone secretion and the composition of follicular fluid in gilts.Fifty-four gilts with initial body weight of(59±4.2) kg were randomly allotted to six treatments.Treatments were low, normal,and high energy feeding levels,which were 87.5%,100%and 112.5%of recommendatory energy requirements by NRC(1998),respectively,and dietary energy sources(starch or fat).Blood samples and follicular fluids were collected on D18 and D19 of the second estrous cycle.The results showed that plasma concentrations of triglycerides and total cholesterol were higher in the fat group than that in the starch group(P【0.05),but those of glucose were similar between the two energy sources(P】0.05);dietary energy level exerted no effect on blood metabolites concentration(P】0.05).Gilts fed the high energy diet had a higher area under curve of plasma insulin(Insulin AUC),insulin-like growth factor-Ⅰ(IGF-Ⅰ) and leptin than did gilts fed the lower energy diet(P【0.05),but there was no significant difference between fat versus starch(P】0.05).Luteinizing hormone(LH) pulses were higher in gilts fed high energy rather than that in low energy diets(P】0.05),plasma concentration of estradiol(E<sub>2</sub>) was higher in the fat group than that in the starch group(P【0.05).The number of large follicles(diameter≥4 mm) and concentrations of IGF-Ⅰand E<sub>2</sub> in follicular fluid were increasing significant as the level of energy increased(P【0.05),but the numbers of large follicles and follicular fluid composition were not affected by the source of dietary energy(P】0.05).The results indicate that gilts fed high energy diets had elevated plasma concentrations of metabolic hormones,IGF-Ⅰand LH secretion,and increased follicular fluid concentrations of IGF-Ⅰ,E<sub>2</sub> and numbers of large follicles;gilts fed the dietary fat had a higher plasma concentration of cholesterol and E<sub>2</sub>.展开更多

For multi-dimensional and mul...In the paper, the numerical simulation of interface problems for multiple material fluids is studied. The level set function is designed to capture the location of the material interface. For multi-dimensional and multi-material fluids, the modified ghost fluid method needs a Riemann solution to renew the variable states near the interface. Here we present a new convenient and effective algorithm for solving the Riemann problem in the normal direction. The extrapolated variables are populated by Taylor series expansions in the direction. The anti-diffusive high order WENO difference scheme with the limiter is adopted for the numerical simulation. Finally we implement a series of numerical experiments of multi-material flows. The obtained results are satisfying, compared to those by other methods.展开更多

Level set equations were used to capture the interfaces, and flow field was obtained by upwind TVD scheme to solve 2D Eulerian equations. The boundary conditions at interface of two fluids are determined by Ghost fluid method (GFM). The distributions of fluid parameters, such as pressure and density, were got at different time steps. The results show that the method presented in this paper can track the density discontinuity perfectly. Superior to previous results, the density discontinuity remains sharper. Also, the mixing of fluids can be greatly enhanced by setting disturbances along the initial fluid interfaces.展开更多

If combined with other impending precursors, the location of the events may be predicted to a certain degree.展开更多
