The emergence of endoscopy for the diagnosis of gastrointestinal diseases and the treatment of gastrointestinal diseases has brought great changes.The mere observation of anatomy with the imaging mode using modern endoscopy has played a significant role in this regard.However,increasing numbers of endoscopies have exposed additional deficiencies and defects such as anatomically similar diseases.Endoscopy can be used to examine lesions that are difficult to identify and diagnose.Early disease detection requires that substantive changes in biological function should be observed,but in the absence of marked morphological changes,endoscopic detection and diagnosis are difficult.Disease detection requires not only anatomic but also functional imaging to achieve a comprehensive interpretation and understanding.Therefore,we must ask if endoscopic examination can be integrated with both anatomic imaging and functional imaging.In recent years,as molecular biology and medical imaging technology have further developed,more functional imaging methods have emerged.This paper is a review of the literature related to endoscopic optical imaging methods in the hopes of initiating integration of functional imaging and anatomical imaging to yield a new and more effective type of endoscopy. 展开更多

Here we demonstrate the fabrication of nanometer-sized gaps by assembling single coreshell nanoparticles between metallic nanoelectrodes. Protein coated SiO2@Au coreshell nanopar- tides arc synthesized and positioned between fluorescent molecules-covered electrodes in a controllable way using dielectrophoretic trapping, forming nanogaps sandwiched between nanoparticle and manoelectrodes. Preliminary photoluminescence measurements show that enhanced molecular fluorescence could be detected from the fluorescent molecules inside the nanogaps. These results pave the way for realizing electrically driven molecular fluorescence based on nanogap electrodes. 展开更多

Enteropathy-associated T-cell lymphoma (EATL) is a rare peripheral T-cell lymphoma classified into 2 types, with or without celiac disease, based on histology. Type 2 EATL is less commonly associated with celiac disease, in which cells are characterized by being monomorphic and small- to medium-sized. Cells are characterized by CD8 and CD56 expression and c-MYC oncogene locus gain. We present an atypical case of type 2 EATL in the jejunum, with human T-lymphotropic virus-1 that was CD4- CDS+ CD56- CD30- CD25- TIA-I+ and granzyme B+ on immunohistological staining. It also displayed translocation of chromosome 8p24 (c-MYC), as de- termined by fluorescent/n situ hybridization. Mucosalspreading and intraepithelial invasion by lymphoma with villous atrophy were detected adjacent to the mucosal layer. The lymphoma may be derived from in- traepithelial CD8+ T cells, similar to celiac disease. 展开更多

Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) have been extensively studied since the first efficient device based on small molecular luminescent materials was reported by Tang. Organic electroluminescent material, one of the centerpieces of OLEDs, has been the focus of studies by many material scientists. To obtain high luminosity and to keep material costs low, a few remarkable design concepts have been developed. Aggregation-induced emission (AIE) materials were invented to overcome the common fluorescence-quenching problem, and cross-dipole stacking of fluorescent molecules was shown to be an effective method to get high solid-state luminescence. To exceed the limit of internal quantum efficiency of conventional fluorescent materials, phosphorescent materials were successfully applied in highly efficient electroluminescent devices. Most recently, delayed flu- orescent materials via reverse-intersystem crossing (RISC) from triplet to singlet and the "hot exciton" materials based on hy- bridized local and charge-transfer (HLCT) states were developed to he a new generation of low-cost luminescent materials as efficient as phosphorescent materials. In terms of the device-fabrication process, solution-processible small molecular lumi- nescent materials possess the advantages of high purity (vs. polymers) and low procession cost (vs. vacuum deposition), which are garnering them increasing attention. Herein, we review the progress of the development of small-molecule luminescent materials with different design concepts and features, and also briefly examine future development tendencies of luminescent materials. 展开更多

Fluorescence imaging has become an indispensable technique in cancer research because it can reveal informative molecular,cellular,anatomical,and func-tional insights.Development of advanced fluores-cent probes with superior sensitivity and biological selectivity for fluorescence imaging is thus impera-tive.To move forward in this direction,we developed an easy self-assembly method for fabricating apta-mer-anchored rubrene-loaded organic fluorescent nanoprobes.The aptamer-modified organic nanop-robes integrated the best features of the organic light-emitting materials and the aptamers,thus endowing them with excellent cell-targeting capabil-ity,high stability,and good biocompatibility.By using this general method,a variety of biocompatible and highly bright organic fluorescent nanoprobes based on novel organic light-emitting materials with specific recognition could be easily constructed for real-time biosensing and long-term biomedical imaging. 展开更多
