Growth process of the NaY zeolite membranes was investigated by fluoride-containing precursor synthesis gel.Compared with the fluoride-free precursor synthesis gel,the irregular NaY zeolite crystals were dissolved into amorphous by the fluoride-containing precursor synthesis gel initially,the amorphous contained the Y-type zeolite characteristic bands by the IR characterization.The fine square NaY zeolite crystals arose from the amorphous,which were accumulated and gradually grew into a dense NaY zeolite layer on the support surface after 6.5 h.Because the excessive NaY zeolites were dissolved by the strong alkaline and fluoride-containing precursor synthesis gel,there was plenty of amorphous on NaY zeolites layer for prolonging the crystallization time.The assynthesized NaY zeolite membranes had a good separation performance and repeatability for separation of 10 wt%methanol(MeOH)/methyl methacrylate(MMA) mixture by pervaporation,the flux and separation factor were(1.27 ± 0.07) kg·M^(-2)·h^(-1) and(4900 ± 1500) at 323 K,respectively.Besides,the NaY zeolite membranes were applied to separate the other short chain alcohol from the various alcohol/organic ester and alcohol/organic ether mixtures,the NaY zeolite membranes showed high short chain alcohol perm-selectivity. 展开更多

Synthesis and Anti-Tumor Activities of Fluoride-Containing Gossypol Derivatives Compounds

We report herein the design and synthesis of a series of novel fluoride-containing gossypol derivatives by the condensation reaction of gossypol with fluoride-containing aromatic amine. These fluoride-containing gossypol derivatives were characterized by IR, 1H-NMR and high resolution mass spectral data, then screened as antitumor agents against three human cancer cell lines (HeLa, A-549 and BGC-823) and a normal cell line (VEC) in vitro by using MTT cell proliferation assays. Results revealed that compounds 3a, 3c and 3f exhibited superior anticancer activity against HeLa, compounds 3b,3c, 3e and 3f exhibited superior anticancer activity against A-549, compounds 3b, 3c and 3f exhibited superior anticancer activity against BGC-823 compared to gossypol. In particular, fluorine substituent at the para positions of the phenyl ring showed remarkable inhibitory effects on HeLa?(3c: IC50 = 14.2 μM, 3f:?IC50 = 8.34 μM), A-549(3c: IC50 = 6.32 μM, 3f: IC50 = 9.76 μM) and BGC-823 cells?(3c: IC50 = 8.62 μM, 3f: IC50 = 4.36 μM). Furthermore, all the compounds 3a-3f exhibited lessened cytotoxicity against VEC compared to gossypol. 展开更多

Fluoride removal by traditional precipitation generates huge amounts of a water-rich sludge with low quality, which has no commercial or industrial value. The present study evaluated the feasibility of recovering fluoride as low water content cryolite from industrial fluoride-containing wastewater. A novel pilot-scale reaction-separation integrated reactor was designed. The results showed that the seed retention time in the reactor was prolonged to strengthen the induced crystallization process. The particle size of cryolite increased with increasing seed retention time, which decreased the water content. The recovery rate of cryolite was above 75% under an influent fluoride concentration of 3500 mg/L, a reaction temperature of 50°C, and an influent flow of 40 L/hr. The cryolite products that precipitated from the reactor were small in volume, large in particle size, low in water content, high in crystal purity, and recyclable. 展开更多

Bioactive glasses(BGs)are promising bone substitute materials.However,under certain circumstances BGs such as the well-known 45S5 Bioglass®(composition in wt%:45.0 SiO2,24.5 Na2O,24.5 CaO,6.0 P2O5)act cytotoxic due to a strong increase in pH caused by a burst release of sodium ions.A potential alternative is a sodiumreduced fluoride-containing BG belonging to the CaO–MgO–SiO2 system,namely BG1d-BG(composition in wt%:46.1 SiO2,28.7 CaO,8.8 MgO,6.2 P2O5,5.7 CaF2,4.5 Na2O),that has already been evaluated in-vitro,in-vivo and in preliminary clinical trials.Before further application,however,BG1d-BG should be compared to the benchmark amongst BGs,the 45S5 Bioglass®composition,to classify its effect on cell viability,proliferation and osteogenic differentiation of human mesenchymal stem cells(MSCs).Therefore,in this study,the biocompatibility and osteogenic potential of both BGs were investigated in an indirect and direct culture setting to assess the effect of the ionic dissolution products and the BGs’physical presence on the cells.The results indicated an advantage of BG1d-BG over 45S5 Bioglass®regarding cell viability and proliferation.Both BGs induced an earlier onset of osteogenic differentiation and accelerated the expression of late osteoblast marker genes compared to the control group.In conclusion,BG1d-BG is an attractive candidate for further experimental investigation.The basic mechanisms behind the different impact on cell behavior should be assessed in further detail,e.g.by further alteration of the BG compositions. 展开更多

The rapid development of the fluorinated pesticide industry has produced a large amount of fluorine-containing hazardous waste, especially inorganic fluoride-containing waste(IFCW). A two-step process, including extraction and recovery, was developed to recover fluorine as synthetic cryolite from IFCW produced by the pesticide industry. The optimum conditions for extraction were found to be a temperature of 75℃, an initial p H(p Hi) of 12, a4-hr incubation time and a liquid-to-solid ratio of 40 m L/g; these conditions resulted in a fluorine extraction ratio of 99.0%. The effects of p H and the F/Al molar ratio on fluorine recovery and the compositional, mineralogical and morphological characteristics of the cryolite products were investigated. Field-emission scanning electron microscopy of recovered precipitates showed changes in morphology with the F/Al molar ratio. Coupling Fourier transform and infrared spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction indicated that the formation of Al F3-6was restricted as increasing p H. Both the amount of fluorine recovered and the quality of the cryolite were optimized at initial p H = 3 and a F/Al molar ratio 5.75. This study proposed a reliable and environmentally friendly method for the treatment of fluoridecontaining wastes, which could be suitable for industrial applications. 展开更多

We introduced fluorine into hydroxyl-terminated block copolyether so as to prepare polyurethane adhesive with better performance.Fluorine-containing epoxy compounds(FO)was synthesized by one-step method from 2,2,3,3-tetrafluoro-1-propanol(TFP)and epichlorohydrin(ECH).Then,a novel hydroxyl-terminated block fluorinated copolyether(FPO-PTHF-FPO)was prepared by cationic ring-opening polymerization of fluorinated epoxy compound(FO)with polytetrahydrofuran(PTHF)as the macromolecular initiator and boron trifluoride diethyl ether(BF_(3)·OEt_(2))as the catalyst.The structure and properties of hydroxyl-terminated block fluorinated copolyether were characterized by FTIR,^(1)HNMR,GPC,DSC,TGA,and viscosity-temperature curve analysis.In comparison with polytetrahydrofuran(PTHF),hydroxyl-terminated block fluorinated copolyether(FPO-PTHF-FPO)has lower viscosity and only one lower glass transition temperature(-66.6℃)on DSC curve.In addition,hydroxyl-terminated block fluorinated copolyether(FPO-PTHF-FPO)begins to decompose at 187.2℃and is completely decomposed until 431.6℃,which indicates that it has a good thermal stability. 展开更多
