Some publications used the "earth-ionosphere" mode in modeling the electromagnetic(EM) fields with the offset up to a thousand kilometer, and such EM fields still have a signal/noise ratio of 10-20 dB. This means that a new EM method with fixed source is feasible, but in their calculation, the displacement in air was neglected. In this work, some three-layer modeling results were presented to illustrate the basic EM fields' characteristics in the near, far and waveguide areas under "earth-ionosphere" mode, and a standard is given to distinguish the boundary of near, far and waveguide areas. Due to the influence of the ionosphere and displacement current in the air, the "earth-ionosphere" mode EM fields have an extra waveguide zone, where the fields' behavior is very different from that of the far field zone.展开更多

The HEMT with only a gate FP is optimized, and breakdown voltage VBR is saturated at 1085 V for gate–drain spacing LGD ≥ 8 μm. On the basis of the HEMT with a gate FP, a drain FP is added with LGD=10 μm. For the length of the drain FP LDF ≤ 2 μm, VBR is almost kept at 1085 V, showing no degradation. When LDF exceeds 2 μm, VBR decreases obviously as LDF increases. Moreover, the larger the LDF, the larger the decrease of VBR. It is concluded that the distance between the gate edge and the drain FP edge should be larger than a certain value to prevent the drain FP from affecting the forward blocking voltage and the value should be equal to the LGD at which VBR begins to saturate in the first structure. The electric field and potential distribution are simulated and analyzed to account for the decrease of VBR.展开更多

All the system coefficients and the objective performance functional are allowed to be random, possibly non-Markovian. Malliavin calculus is employed to derive a maximum principle for the optimal control of such a system where the adjoint process is explicitly expressed.展开更多

And also we developed explicitly the complete unified expressions for the calculation of gravity anomalies, gravity gradient, and magnetic anomalies due to the homogeneous polyhedron. Furthermore, we deduced new analytical expressions for computing vertical gradients of gravity anomalies due to a finite rectangular prism by applying the newly obtained expressions for gravity gradient tensors due to a polyhedral target body. Comparison with forward calculation of models shows the correctness of these new expressions. It will reduce forward calculation time of gravity-magnetic anomalies and improve computational efficiency by applying our unified expressions for joint forward modeling of gravity-magnetic anomalies due to homogeneous polyhedral bodies.展开更多

The paper adopts 2D finite element method as the magnetotelluric forward method and calculates the total field by primary field (also named background field) plus secondary field. We can?get more accurate forward result through the finite element method and we can get the result effected by the dense degree of grid slightly by the total field. But the method is not effective?enough when the model is divided into relative big grid. When the frequency changes, program solves relevant equation separately. According to the feature of the algorithm, we apply MPI parallel method in the algorithm. Every process solves relevant equation. The account of frequency?that a process needs to solve in parallel computation is less than the account that the process?needs to solve in serial algorithm. We can see that the forward result is the same with the serial algorithm and proves the correctness of algorithm. We do statistics about the efficiency of the parallel algorithm. When the account of processes is from 2 to 8, the speedup is from 1.63 to 2.64. It proves the effectiveness of the parallel algorithm.展开更多

Inelastic displacement ratios (IDRs) for ground motions impacted by these nearfield effects are evaluated and comprehensively compared to far-field ground motions. In addition, the inelastic displacement responses to hanging wall and footwall ground motions are compared. It is concluded that the inelastic displacement response is significantly affected in the short period range by hanging wall and in the long period range by footwall. Although high peak ground acceleration was observed at hanging wall stations, the IDRs for structures on hanging wall sites are only larger than footwall sites in the very long period range. Forward directivity effects result in larger IDRs for periods longer than about 0.5s. Adopting statistical relationships for IDRs established using far-field ground motions may lead to either overestimation or underestimation in the seismic evaluation of existing structures located in near-field regions, depending on their fundamental vibration periods.展开更多

The MAT-CI is expected to acquire high quality image and embraces a wide application. Its principle is to put the conductive sample in the Static Magnetic Field(SMF) and inject a time-varying current, during which the SMF and the current interact and generate the Lorentz Force that inspire ultrasonic signal received by the ultrasonic transducers positioned around the sample. And then according to related reconstruction algorithm and ultrasonic signal, electrical conductivity image is obtained. In this paper, a forward problem mathematical model of the MAT-CI has been set up to deduce the theoretical equation of the electromagnetic field and solve the sound source distribution by Green’s function. Secondly, a sound field restoration by Wiener filtering and reconstruction of current density by time-rotating method have deduced the Laplace’s equation that caters to the current density to further acquire the electrical conductivity distribution image of the sample through iteration method. In the end, double-loop coils experiments have been conducted to verify its feasibility.展开更多
