An integrated fluid-thermal-structural analysis approach is presented. In this approach, the heat conduction in a solid is coupled with the heat convection in the viscous flow of the fluid resulting in the thermal stress in the solid. The fractional four-step finite element method and the streamline upwind Petrov-Galerkin (SUPG) method are used to analyze the viscous thermal flow in the fluid. Analyses of the heat transfer and the thermal stress in the solid axe performed by the Galerkin method. The second-order semi- implicit Crank-Nicolson scheme is used for the time integration. The resulting nonlinear equations are lineaxized to improve the computational efficiency. The integrated analysis method uses a three-node triangular element with equal-order interpolation functions for the fluid velocity components, the pressure, the temperature, and the solid displacements to simplify the overall finite element formulation. The main advantage of the present method is to consistently couple the heat transfer along the fluid-solid interface. Results of several tested problems show effectiveness of the present finite element method, which provides insight into the integrated fluid-thermal-structural interaction phenomena. 展开更多

This paper deals with the mode I crack problem of a cracked rubber sheet under plane stress condition using the delicate digital moiré technique. Through the four step phaseshifting method of automated fringe analysis, the displacement fields in the Cartesian coordinate system are given. By the coordinate-transform equation, the radial and circular displacement distributions in the polar coordinate system are obtained. The displacement isoline distributions and displacement vector distributions near the crack tip are discussed. The strain isoline distributions near the crack tip are also analyzed in this paper. Finally, the distribution rules for the mechanical fields near the crack tip are discussed with the sector division method. 展开更多

Design of a grating by a joint optimization method for a phase-shifting point diffraction interferometer

A grating is an important element of a phase-shifting point diffraction interferometer, and the grating constant and duty cycle have a great impact on the interferometer, so the design of a grating becomes significant. In order to measure the projection objective with a numerical aperture of 0.2, we present a joint optimization method of a pinhole and grating based on scalar diffraction and the finite difference time domain method. The grating constant and the film thickness are selected, and the duty cycle of the grating is optimized. The results show that in the grating processing the material chromium is adopted, the thickness is 200 nm, and the grating constant is 15 μm. When the duty cycle is 55%, the interference fringe contrast is the greatest. The feasibility of the design result is further verified by experiment. 展开更多

Since the wave equation of magnetoteiluric (MT)field is similar to the one of seismic , the migration techniques used in seismic can be applied to MT data . In this paper we make use of the principle of reflector mapping (i. e. U/D imaging principle ) to image MT data . That is, the MT wavefield observed on the surface of the earth can be resolved into upgoing and downgoing waves , the waves are extrapolated downward by the phase - shift method or the phase - shift plus interpolation (PSPI )method . Conductivity interfaces of the medium could be found by using the time coincidence of the upgoing and downgoing waves . Theoretical calculations show that the migration technique of MT data presented here is very effective . It can not only enhance the lateral resolution of MT data , but also obtain the visual image of subsurface interfaces . As compared with the conventional 2 - D inversion , this procedure is more simple in calculation and can be easily put into practice on a personal computer and is able to obtain the MT depth section , which is similar to seismic section . 展开更多

The successful application of new technologies such as remotely piloted aircraft systems,distributed electric propulsion systems,and automatic control systems on electric vertical take-off and landing(eVTOL)aircraft has prompted Urban Air Mobility(UAM)to be mentioned frequently.UAM is a newly raised transport mode of using eVTOL aircraft to transport people and cargo in urban areas,which is thought to share some of the traffic on the ground.One of the prerequisites for UAM to operate on a regular basis is that its demand can support the operating costs,so forecasting UAM demand is necessary.We conduct UAM demand forecasting based on the four-step method,focusing on improving the third-step modal split,and propose a demand forecasting model based on the logit model.The model combines a nested logit(NL)model with a multinomial logit(MNL)model to solve the problem of non-existent UAM sharing rates.We use Chengdu,China as an example,and focus on forecasting the UAM traffic demand in 2030 with the help of the four-step method.The results show that UAM is suitable for shared operation during the early stages.With a fully shared operation,the UAM share rate increases by 0.73%for every kilometer increase in distance.Moreover,UAM is more competitive than other modes for delivery distances exceeding 15 km.Finally,using the distributions of the share rate and traffic flow pattern from the simulation,we propose the routes that can be prioritized for UAM operations in Chengdu. 展开更多

In this paper,a new method combining focused ion beam(FIB)and scanning electron microscope(SEM)Moirétechnique for the measurement of residual stress at micro scale is proposed.The FIB is employed to introduce stress relief like the macro ring-core method and fabricate gratings with a frequency of 5000 lines/mm on the measured area of the sample surface.Three groups of gratings in different radial directions are manufactured in order to form a micro-scale strain rosette.After milling ring-core by FIB,the deformation incurred by relief of the stress will be recorded with the strain rosette.The displacement/strain field can be measured using SEM scanning Moiréwith random phase-shifting algorithm.In this study,the Nickel alloy GH4169 sample(which was processed by laser shock peening)is selected as a study object to determine its residual stress.The results showed that the components of the in-plane principal stresses were-359 MPa and-207 MPa,respectively,which show good agreement with the results obtained from the available literature. 展开更多

The wireless electric vehicle(EV) charging system is highly safe and flexible. To reduce the weight and cost of EVs, the wireless charging system, which simplifies the structure inside an EV and utilizes the transmitter-side control method, has become popular. This study investigates the transmitter-side control methods in a wireless EV charging system. First, a universal wireless charging system is introduced, and the function of its transfer power is derived. It is observed that the transfer power can be controlled by regulating either the phase-shift angle or the DC-link voltage. Further, the influence of the control variables is studied using numerical analysis. Additionally, the corresponding control methods, namely the phase-shift angle and the DC-link voltage control, are compared by calculation and simulation. It is found that:(1) the system efficiency is low with the phase-shift control method because of the converter switching loss;(2) the dynamic response is slow with the DC-link voltage control method because of the large inertia of the inductor and capacitor;(3) both the control methods have limitations in their adjustable power range. Therefore, a combined control method is proposed, with the advantages of high system efficiency, fast dynamic response, and wide adjustable power range. Finally, experiments are performed to verify the validity of the theoretical analysis and the effectiveness of the proposed method. This study provides a detailed and comprehensive analysis of the transmitter-side control methods in the wireless charging system, considering the sensitivity of parameters, converter losses, system efficiency,and dynamic performance, with the dead-time effect taken into consideration. Moreover, the proposed control method can be used to realize the optimal combination of the phase-shift angle and the DC-link voltage with good dynamic performance, and it is useful for the optimal operation of the wireless charging system. 展开更多
