To estimate the impact of crop rotation on the pathotype and genetic structure of Phythophthora sojae in fields, 372 isolates of P. sojae were obtained from long-term localisation experimental fields in Heilongjiang Province of China. The hypocotyl inoculation method was used to characterize the virulence of P. sojae on 13 differential cultivars, and the amplified fragment length polymorphism(AFLP) technique was used to analyze difference in the genetic structure of P. sojae. The results indicated that an abundant diversity of genetic structures and pathotypes of P. sojae, a more uniform distribution of pathotypes and less dominance of pathotypes occurred in corn-soybean and wheat-soybean rotation fields than in a continuous soybean mono-cropping field. These findings suggested that P. sojae did not easily become the dominant race in rotation fields, which maintain disease resistance in soybean varieties. Therefore, the results of this study suggested that Phytophthora stem and root rot of soybeans could be effectively controlled by rotating soybeans with non-host crops of corn and wheat. 展开更多

We review the principle of topological interlocking and analyze the properties of the mortarless structures whose design is based on this principle. We concentrate on structures built of osteomorphic blocks-the blocks possessing specially engineered contact surfaces allowing assembling various 2D and 3D structures. These structures are easy to build and can be made demountable. They are flexible, resistant to macroscopic fractures and tolerant to missing blocks. The blocks are kept in place without keys or connectors that are the weakest elements of the conventional interlocking structures. The overall structural integrity of these structures depends on the force imposed by peripheral constraint. The peripheral constraint can be provided in various ways:by an external flame or features of site topography, intemal prestressed cables/tendons,or self-weight and is a necessary auxiliary element of the structure. The constraining force also determines the degree of delamination developing between the blocks due to bending and thus controls the overall flexibility of the structure thus becoming a new design parameter. 展开更多

The cereals and their products, which have been easily infected by fungi and contaminated with mycotoxins, are serious threat to both human and animals alike. And yet, detection of these unknown fungal infection and mycotoxins contaminates remains a great challenge. In this work,a holistic approach based on multiple characteristic structure fragments scans and high-resolution mass spectrometry(HRMS)was proposed for discovering unknown structural analogues of mycotoxins. The structural similarity of the same class of compounds provides a direction for the discovery and identification of unknown structural analogues of mycotoxins. The following steps were carried out:the fragmentation pathways of four types of mycotoxins were elucidated through comprehensive fragment analysis.By the combination of fragmentation pathways, the multiple characteristic structure fragments were screened out, with the common fragments were obtained by Veen diagram. Finally multiple characteristic structure fragments scans were carried out to find the unknown structural analogues of mycotoxins. The approach, first proposed by us,was proved to be effective in discovering and identifying 5 structural analogues of mycotoxins in real samples. It was proved to be a simple, fast and accurate method for early detection of fungal infection and mycotoxin contaminants, even for trace amounts of chemicals in complex matrix, and is of great significance to prevent hazardous substances infection from the food supply chains worldwide. 展开更多
