Introduction to the New Editorial Board Member of Journal of Landscape Research Gao Xiaoshu

Cao Xiaoshu is a professor of the School of Geography and Planning as well as the deputy director of the Center for Urban and Regional Studies of Sun Yat-Sen University. He is also the deputy head and secretary-general of the Urbanization Working Group of the Chinese National Committee for the International Human Dimensions Programme on the Global Environmental Change (CNC-IHDP), the member of the Professional Committee for Historical Geography of the Geographical Society of China (GSC), and the member of the Academic Committee of China Land Science Society (CLSS). Prof. Cao also serves as the editorial board member of various influential publications such as Scientia Geographica Sinica , Historical Geography, Human Geography, Economic Geography, Tropical Geography , Areal Research and Development, and Land Economics.

Dr. CHEN Yan is a professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at Northwestern University, USA. He is also an adjunct professor in the College of Computer Science at Zhejiang University, China. He got his PhD in Computer Science at University of California at Berkeley, USA in 2003. His research interests include network security, measurement and diagnosis for large scale networks and distributed systems. He won the Department of Energy （DoE） Early CAREER award in 2005, the Department of Defense （DoD） Young Investigator Award in 2007, and the Best Paper nomination in ACM SIGCOMM 2010.Based on the Google Scholar, his papers have been cited for over 9000 times and his h-index is 40.

Xiaodong Wang （S＇98-M＇98-SM＇04-F＇08） received the PhD degree in Electrical Engineering from Princeton University. He is a professor of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University in New York. Dr. Wang＇ s research interests fall in the general areas of computing, signal processing and communications, and he has published extensively in these areas. Among his publications is a book entitled “Wireless Communication Systems： Advanced Techniques for Signal Reception”, published by Prentice Hall in 2003. Kun Yang received his PhD from the Department of Electronic ＆ Electrical Engineering of University College London （UCL）, UK. His MSc and BSc were in Computer Networks and Computer Science respectively, both from Jilin University, China. He is currently a Chair Professor in the School of Computer Science ＆ Electronic Engineering, University of Essex, UK, and the Head of the Network Convergence Laboratory （NCL） in Essex. Before joining Essex at 2003 he worked at UCL as a Research Fellow on several EU projects such as FAIN, etc. His main research interests include wireless networks/communications, fixed mobile convergence, future Internet technology （such as network virtualization） and cloud computing/networking.
