The knitting industry CAD/CAM system's development needs a solution of computer representation of the designed objects.One of them is a transformation of knitting rows and stitches form knitting pattern and its automatic analysis is to control data from the knitting design data.A method of the pattern CAD system including the analyzing and the compiling of the pattern data was developed in this paper.By rasterizing the pattern map,the drafted pattern could be compiled into knitting row data and stitches.The storage format of knitting rows data and stitches data could be defined by analyzing the motion of computerized fiat knitting machine.By reassembling the control data,it could be analyzed into the execute data of the controller in computerized flat knitting machine.This method mainly focused on the weak areas of multi-needle-bed technology and fully-fashioned knitting technology in inland and could be applied to most of control systems in the master-slave mode.The knitting row data and pattern row data in a " *.ptn" format file were integrated.Giving a corresponding analytic calculation process of control data and realizing independent development of the upper machine and the lower machine,the final knitting control data not only have low computation and transmission cost but also have fast transfer speeds. 展开更多

Due to the complexity of the structures, their modeling and simulation needs to be solved in three-dimensional (3D) CAD developments. In this paper, 3D loop geometrical models of weft knitted fancy structures, including tuck stitch, jacquard stitch, transfer stitch and fleecy stitch, were developed based on an improved model of plain loop, and their central axes as some 3D space curves were achieved by using Non-Uniform Rational B-Splines (NURBS). The 3D visual simulation programme was written in C++ programming language using OpenGL, which was a function library of 3D graphics. Some examples of weft knitted fancy fabrics were generated and practical application of 3D simulation was discussed. 展开更多

This study investigated the elastic elongation and elastic recovery of the elastic warp knitted fabric made of polyethylene terephthalate( PET) and polybutylene terephthalate( PBT)filament. The effect of knitting parameter on the elasticity of PBT /PET warp knitted fabric was analyzed. The increase of drawing density( from 16 to 26 courses per centimeter( CPC)) on machine resulted in the decrease of elongation at the weft direction. But,the elongation at the warp direction fluctuated as drawing density increasing. The yarn run-in speed influenced the elongation of PET /PBT warp knitted fabric as well. When the yarn run-in speed of GB1( front bar) was kept a constant,the increase of GB2( back bar) yarn run-in speed caused the gradual enhancement of the elastic elongation at the warp direction,but the different trends of the elastic elongation at the weft direction. When yarn run-in speed of GB2 was kept a constant,the increase of GB1 yarn run-in speed enlarged the elastic warp elongation from 104.16 to 124.97 mm,while the weft elongation decreased from 110.34 to 98.03 mm.Eventually yarn run-in speeds of GB1 and GB2 were retained at1 360 and 1 170 mm / rack respectively under 20 CPC drawing density. It could not only balance the two directions of elongation but also reach the highest elongation at both directions( 126. 32 and115.88 mm) under 100 N tension. These results provide a better understanding of characteristics of PET / PBT warp knitted fabric,and its elastic elongation and recovery behavior for development and effective applications. 展开更多

A flexible electronic shogging system was presented based on rotary type servo motor,which aimed to improve the dynamic response of the shogging drive and decrease the impact of the guide bar during the higher speed running of warp-knitting machine.In this system,the speed control mode,faster response servo motor,no-flat modified trapezoid motion law,and its electronic cam were chosen;the realization standard and method were also introduced in details.The speed response curves of loaded motor indicated that the system could satisfy the technology requirements of high-speed warpknitting machine which run at the speed of 1000 r/min in the experiments,and the vibration curves showed that the guide bar had weaker mechanical impact and higher dynamic response characteristics.The results indicated that the flexible electronic shogging system designed following the previous step was successful,and the design principle of the electronic shogging was testified validly. 展开更多

By means of orthogonal test and variance analysis, it is known that the feeding tension is the significant factor influencing the yarn appearance and the ground yarn tension should be larger than the face yarn tension. Three different kinds of notch involving single edge notch ( SEN), double edge notch ( DEN ) and central notch ( CEN ) were preset in flexible warp knitting metal mesh, and the tensile properties of notch samples were tested. Three kinds of notch samples' sensitivity were investigated through different notch lengths. Then failure process and tensile properties were contrasted and analyzed between intact and notch samples. Experiment and analysis results showed that positive Poisson's ratio effect gave rise to obvious waist binding and special inverted triangle loading area. All samples were sensitive to three kinds of notches. And notch sensitivity was closely related to notch form and notch length. The notch procession obviously deteriorated the mechanical properties of flexible warp knitting metal mesh. Sample with different notch lengths and breakage locations determined different tensile strengths that sample could bear. The fitting function of waist binding track satisfied the parabolic equation. 展开更多

According to the method of immersion, the technical characteristics of metal paste performance and influence factors of sinter process were discussed. The pore morphology and compressibility of copper foam were detected simultaneously, and the structural property of copper foam prepared by the process of once-infiltrating was compared with the one of copper foam prepared by the process of twice-infiltrating. The results show that pH value of metal paste has a large influence on rheological properties of slurry. By twice-infiltrating process, the microstructure of copper foam was altered. In case of the porosity dropping indistinctly, the compression stress of copper foam platform was raised from 0.5 MPa to 1 Mpa which was of great significance to improve the energy absorption capacity of the material. 展开更多

The main focus of the study was to see the pilling behavior from various percentages of polyester fiber blend ratio as well as the different pilling cycles on blended fabrics. The cotton, polyester, and elastane prepared the study fabrics. These fabrics are (90% Cotton/5% Polyester/5% Elastane, 90% Cotton/6% Polyester/4% Elastane, 90% Cotton/7% Polyester/3% Elastane, 90% Cotton/8% Polyester/2% Elastane, and 90% Cotton/9% Polyester/1% Elastane, 85% Cotton/10% Polyester/5% Elastane, 85% Cotton/11% Polyester/4% Elastane, 85% Cotton/12% Polyester/3% Elastane, 85% Cotton/13% Polyester/2% Elastane, and 85% Cotton/ 14% Polyester/1% Elastane, 80% Cotton/15% Polyester/5% Elastane, 80% Cotton/16% Polyester/4% Elastane, 80% Cotton/17% Polyester/3% Elastane, 80% Cotton/18% Polyester/2% Elastane, and 80% Cotton/19% Polyester/1% Elastane). The selected polyester blend ratios were 5%, 6%, 7%, 8%, 9%, 10%, 11%, 12%, 13%, 14%, 15%, 16%, 17%, 18% and 19% respectively. The study used the Martindale pilling tester with 2000, 5000, and 7000 cycles, respectively. The evaluation followed the ISO 12945-2:2000. The study findings are that the polyester fiber blend ratio did not influence the pilling grade on blended fabrics for pilling cycles 2000, and the pilling grade remained constant at 4 - 5. The pilling grade started to deteriorate in pilling cycle 5000 for the fabrics 85%C/10%P/5%E, 85%C/11%P/4%E, 85%C/12%P/3%E, 85%C/ 13%P/2%E, 85%C/14%P/1%E showed the pilling grade 4, and the fabrics made from 80%C/15%P/5%E, 80%C/16%P/4%E, 80%C/17%P/3%E, 80%C/ 18%P/2%E, 80%C/19%P/1%E showed the pilling grade 4, 3, 3, 3, and 3 respectively. For the pilling cycles 7000, the pilling grade further deteriorated for the fabrics 80%C/15%P/5%E, 80%C/16%P/4%E, 80%C/17%P/3%E, 80%C/ 18%P/2%E, 80%C/19%P/1%E showed the pilling grade 3, 3, 2, 2, and 2 respectively. The study finds the dominance of polyester fiber throughout the experiment.
