Moench] is a high-yielding, nutrient-use efficient, and drought tolerant crop that can be cultivated on over 80 per cent of the world’s agricultural land. However, a number of biotic and abiotic factors are limiting grain yield increase. Diseases (leaf and grain) are considered as one of the major biotic factors hindering sorghum productivity in the highland and intermediate altitude sorghum growing areas of Ethiopia. In addition, the yield performance of crop varieties is highly influenced by genotype × environment (G × E) interaction which is the major focus of researchers while generating improved varieties. In Ethiopia, high yielding and stable varieties that withstand biotic stress in the highland areas are limited. In line with this, the yield performance of 21 sorghum genotypes and one standard check were evaluated across 14 environments with the objectives of estimating magnitude G × E interaction for grain yield and to identify high yielder and stable genotypes across environments. The experiment was laid out using Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications in all environments. The combined analysis of variance across environments revealed highly significant differences among environments, genotypes and G × E interactions of grain yield suggesting further analysis of the G × E interaction. The results of the combined AMMI analysis of variance indicated that the total variation in grain yield was attributed to environments effects 71.21%, genotypes effects 4.52% and G × E interactions effects 24.27% indicating the major sources of variation. Genotypes 2006AN7010 and 2006AN7011 were high yielder and they were stable across environments and one variety has been released for commercial production and can be used as parental lines for genetic improvement in the sorghum improvement program. In general, this research study revealed the importance of evaluating sorghum genotypes for their yield and stability across diverse highland areas of Ethiopia before releasing for commercial production.展开更多

The interaction of hDaxx with Ad12 E1B 55kD was studied using yeast two-hybrid assay. Results: hDaxx bounded directly to Ad12 E1B 55kD in vivo and in vitro. hDaxx interacted with full length Ad12 E1B 55kD. Conclusion: Transcriptional regulator hDaxx directly binds to and interacts with Ad12 E1B 55kD.展开更多

By using the immunoprecipitation method, the interactions among Rb, p16, E2F1, HDAC1 proteins in gallbladder carcinoma cell line (Mz-ChA-1) were studied. It was found that there were Rb and E2F1 proteins in the precipitates with anti-HDAC1, and there were HDAC1 and E2F1 proteins in the precipitate with anti-Rb. It was concluded that there are specific interactions among Rb, HDAC1 and E2F1 proteins in gallbladder carcinoma, indicating the existence of the direct Rb/E2F1/HDAC1 signal transduction pathway. There is no direct relationship between p16 proteins with Rb, HDAC1, and E2F1 proteins.展开更多

Then the load of the power grid will rapidly increase in a short term, and a series of effects will bring to the power grid operation, management, production and planning. With the large-scale penetration of electric vehicles and distributed energy gradually increased, if they can be effectively controlled and regulated, they can play the roles of load shifting, stabling intermittent renewable energy sources, providing emergency power supply and so on. Otherwise they may have a negative impact, which calls for a good interaction of electric vehicles and power grid. Analyzed the status of the current study on the interaction between the electric vehicles and the power grid, this paper builds the material basis, information architecture and the corresponding control method for the interaction from the aspect of the energy and information exchanging, and then discusses the key issues, which makes a useful exploration for the further research.展开更多

By means of improved ligand-field theory, R1, R2, R'3, R'2, and R'1 lines, U band, ground-state zero-field-splitting (GSZFS), and ground-state g factors of ruby and/or GSGG: Cr3+ as well as thermal shifts of GSZFS, R1 line and R2 line of ruby have been calculated. The results are in very good agreement with the experimental data. Moreover, it is found that the value of cubic-field parameter given by traditional ligand-field theory is inappropriately large. For thermal shifts of GSZFS, R1 line and R2 line of ruby, several conclusions have also been obtained.展开更多

Clear Shubnikov-de Haas oscil- lations were resolved at relatively low magnetic field around 4 T, revealing a quasi-2D Fermi surface. We observed a development of quantized plateaus in Hall resistance (Rxy) at high pulsed fields up to 60 T. Due to the strong 2D confine- ment and layered properties of the samples, we interpreted the observation as bulk quantum Hall effect that is contributed by the parallel 2D conduction channels. Moreover, the spin degeneracy was lifted leading to Landau level splitting. The presence of anisotropic g factor and the formation of the oscillation beating pattern reveal a strong spin-orbit interaction in the SrMnSb2 system.展开更多

Genotyping of the ApoC-Ⅲ3238C】G was performed by polymerase chain reaction and restriction fragment length polymorphism combined with gel electrophoresis, and then confirmed by direct sequencing.Interactions of the ApoC-Ⅲ3238C】G genotype and alcohol consumption was assessed by using a cross-product term between genotypes and the afore-mentioned factor. Results Serum total cholesterol(TC), TG,high-density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),ApoA-I and ApoB levels were higher in drinkers than in nondrinkers (P【0.05-0.001).There was no significant difference in the genotypic and allelic frequencies between the two groups. Serum TG levels in nondrinkers were higher in CG genotype than in CC genotype(P【0,01).Serum TC,TG,low-density lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C) and ApoB levels in drinkers were higher in GG genotype than in CC or CG genotype(P【0.01 for all).Serum HDL-C levels in drinkers were higher in CG genotype than in CC genotype(P【0.01).Serum TC, TG,HDL-C and ApoA-I levels in CC genotype,TC,HDL-C, ApoA-I levels and the ratio of ApoA-I to ApoB in CG genotype, and TC,TG,LDL-C,ApoA-I and ApoB levels in GG genotype were higher in drinkers than in nondrinkers(P【0.05-0.01).But the ratio of ApoA-I to ApoB in GG genotype was lower in drinkers than in nondrinkers(P【0.01). Multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the levels of TC,TG and ApoB were correlated with genotype in non drinkers(P【0.05 for all). The levels of TC,LDL-C and ApoB were associated with genotype in drinkers(P【0.01 for all). Serum lipid parameters were also correlated with age, sex, alcohol consumption, cigarette smoking, blood pressure, body weight, and body mass index in both groups. Conclusions This study suggests that the ApoC-Ⅲ3238CG heterozygotes benefited more from alcohol consumption than CC and GG homozygotes in increasing serum levels of HDL-C,ApoA-I, and the ratio of ApoA-I to ApoB,and lowering serum levels of TC and TG.展开更多
