The present study aims to evaluate soil quality in the Ferralitic soils context countrywide. This assessment was done using multivariate soil quality indice (SQI) models, such as additive quality index (AQI), weighted quality indexes (WQIadd and WQIcom) and Nemoro quality index (NQI), applied to two approaches of indicator selection: total data set (TDS) and minimum data set (MDS). Physical and chemical soil indicators were extracted from the ORSTOM’s reports resulting from a sampling campaign in different provinces of Gabon. The TDS approach shows soil quality status according to eleven soil indicators extracted from the analysis of 1,059 samples from arable soil layer (0 - 30 cm depth). The results indicated that 87% of all provinces presented a very low soil quality (Q5) whatever the model. Among soil indicators, exchangeable K+ and Mg2+, bulk density and C/N ratio were retained in MDS, using principal component analysis (PCA). In the MDS approach, 50 to 63% of provinces had low soil quality grades with AQI, WQIadd and NQI, whereas the total was observed with WQIcom. Only 25% of provinces had medium soil quality grades with AQI and NQI models, while 12.5% (NQI) and 25% (AQI) presented high quality grades. Robust statistical analyses confirmed the accuracy and validation (0.80 r P ≤ 0.016) of AQI, WQIadd and NQI into the TDS and MDS approaches. The same sensitivity index value (1.53) was obtained with AQI and WQIadd. However, WQIadd was chosen as the best SQI model, according to its high linear regression value (R2 = 0.82) between TDS and MDS. This study has important implications in decision-making on monitoring, evaluation and sustainable management of Gabonese soils in a pedoclimatic context unfavorable to plant growth.展开更多

The quality evaluation challenges increase with the system’s complexity, especially when multiple services supported by varied technological modules, are offered. Existing standards for software quality, such as the ISO25000 series, provide a broad framework for evaluation. Broadness offers initial implementation ease albeit, it often lacks specificity to cater to individual system modules. This paper maps 48 data metrics and 175 software metrics on specific system modules while aligning them with ISO standard quality traits. Using the ISO25000 series as a foundation, especially ISO25010 and 25012, this research seeks to augment the applicability of these standards to multi-faceted systems, exemplified by five distinct software modules prevalent in modern information ecosystems.展开更多

Data on patients hospitalized in ICUs in Warsaw and the results of their treatment are scarce. This information, crucial for improving the quality of ICU healthcare services, is not collected routinely. Quality indicators are essential in the concept of holistic quality management. Implementation of these indicators in ICUs is a complex and time-consuming process. Systematic increase in demand for quality assessment tools that can reflect real conditions of the practices of ICUs, prompts the search for effective solutions. Methods: The study included 12,155 patients hospitalized in 16 ICUs of Warsaw hospitals (8 ICUs, n = 3293 of the first level of care, and 8 ICUs, n = 8862 of the second level) between 1st January 2017 and 31st December 2018. ICUs in pediatric and oncological hospitals were excluded from the study. Characteristics and demography of patients as well as the structure, treatment and human resources of the ICUs in Warsaw were analyzed. Length of stay, unexpected extubations, nosocomial infections, ICU readmissions and standardized mortality ratios (SMR) were retrieved from National Health Fund, Ministry of Health, and other public databases. Results: In primary level ICUs patients’ age (66.42 vs. 64.43 years;p = 0.005) and comorbidity rate (30.56% vs. 22.78%, p = 0.037) were higher when compared to ICUs of the second level of care. The crude mortality rate in ICUs in Warsaw was significantly higher than in other EU countries and differed between ICUs of the first and the second level (34.77% vs. 24.53%, respectively;p = 0.004). SMRs were however very low: 0.71 and 0.64 (ns), respectively. ICU readmission rate, unexpected extubations, central catheter related infections, and length of stay were identical in both groups. More patients were admitted to ICU form emergency department and/or discharged home in Level 1 ICUs (18.9% vs 12.9%, p Conclusions: There are no major differences in quality of care provided by Level 1 and Level 2 ICUs in Poland, although more rigorous adhesion to admission and discharge policies is needed. Implementation of the instruments for assessing quality of ICUs including benchmarking, self-assessment of departments and evaluation of changes resulting from audits according to the Deming cycle is of utmost importance. Standardization of quality measures and markers, communication, and cooperation in reporting and creation of ICU medical registers is necessary to improve the quality of healthcare.展开更多

文摘Quality standardization of complementary medicine is fundamental for industry and practice as it underpins the quality, safety and efficacy of Chinese herbal medicines.Current herbal standardizations are often based on the quantitative analysis of a single compound, which may not reflect the total characteristic, bioactive and toxic nature of the herbs or products. Therefore, there is a need to establish an internationally recognized methodology for quality standardization of Chinese herbal medicines. The analytical methods reviewed in this article are pharmacognosy,TLC,HPLC,LCMS,CE and chemo-metrics.This article also covers the developments and applications of these methods in quality standardization.Recent advances show that a combination of these methods creates an overall chemical profile of each herb. This is supported by results reviewed in this article and obtained in our laboratory tests on medicinal herbs including Hypericum perforatum,Morinda officinalis and Centella asiatica.Significant variations in active components have been observed between herbal samples and products. It is proposed that the identification of active components, pharmacological activities and eventual clinical applications are required for a comprehensive quality standardization system. Our findings indicate that the combination of various chromatographic and chemometric methods will advance the methodology of quality standardization and enhance the overall confidence in herbal medicine for the health practitioner and the public.

文摘Assessing soil quality is essential for crop management and soil temporal changes. This study has important implications in decision-making on monitoring, evaluation and sustainable management of Gabonese soils in a pedoclimatic context unfavorable to plant growth.

文摘Evaluating complex information systems necessitates deep contextual knowledge of technology, user needs, and quality. Using the ISO25000 series as a foundation, especially ISO25010 and 25012, this research seeks to augment the applicability of these standards to multi-faceted systems, exemplified by five distinct software modules prevalent in modern information ecosystems.

文摘Under the vision of development for the new era,China has entered a stage of high-quality economic development and an important window period in which we have the conditions and ability to address the prominent issue of economic development and ecological protection in a coordinated way. However, all kinds of environmental benchmark values in China are lacking and need to be constantly supplemented and improved. Therefore, exploring and putting forward a simple and efficient method for the transformation of environmental criteria into environmental standards is an important basis for the rapid establishment of relevant environmental criteria system and the effective promotion of the development of environmental standards system towards a scientific and reasonable direction. In this paper, the water environment is taken as the research object.By analyzing the research progress of environmental criteria and standards at home and abroad, and the foreign method of transforming environmental criteria into environmental standards, combined with the problems faced in the process of transforming environmental criteria into environmental standards in China,an effective method to transform China's environmental criteria into environmental standards is analyzed. After analysis and comparison,it is found that the pollution reduction accounting method could achieve their simple and efficient conversion.Under the premise of obtaining environmental criteria for certain pollutants, environmental criteria for certain pollutants could be obtained by distributing pollutants reduction costs, and accounting economic benefits after reaching standard, thus obtaining the environmental standard of this type of pollutant, which provides reference to determine the environmental standard limits of such pollutants.

文摘Introduction: Little is known about the quality of healthcare in intensive care units (ICUs) in Poland. Standardization of quality measures and markers, communication, and cooperation in reporting and creation of ICU medical registers is necessary to improve the quality of healthcare.
