To effectively quantify the impact of distributed photovoltaic(PV)access on the distribution network,this paper proposes a comprehensive evaluation method of distributed PV grid connection combining subjective and objective combination of assignment and technique for order preference by similarity to an ideal solution(TOPSIS)—rank sum ratio(RSR)(TOPSIS-RSR)method.Based on the traditional distribution network evaluation system,a comprehensive evaluation system has been constructed.It fully considers the new development requirements of distributed PV access on the environmental friendliness and absorptive capacity of the distribution grid and comprehensively reflects the impact of distributed PV grid connection.The analytic hierarchy process(AHP)was used to determine the subjective weights of the primary indicators,and the Spearman consistency test was combined to determine the weights of the secondary indicators based on three objective assignment methods.The subjective and objective combination weights of each assessment indicator were calculated through the principle of minimum entropy.Calculate the distance between the indicators to be evaluated and the positive and negative ideal solutions,the relative closeness ranking,and qualitative binning by TOPSIS-RSR method to obtain the comprehensive evaluation results of different scenarios.By setting up different PV grid-connected scenarios and utilizing the IEEE33 node simulation algorithm,the correctness and effectiveness of the proposed subject-object combination assignment and integrated assessment method are verified. 展开更多

To realize the efficient transient simulation of a grid-connected power generation system based on multiple inverters, this paper proposes a hybrid simulation method integrating the models of electromagnetic transient and dynamic phasors. Based on a demonstration of the concepts and properties of dynamic phasors, the models of single-phase and three-phase inverters described by dynamic phasors are established first. Considering the numerical compatibility problem between dynamic phasors and instantaneous values, an interface scheme between dynamic phasors and instantaneous values is designed, and the efficiency and precision differences of various transformation methods are compared in detail.Finally, by utilizing MATLAB/Simulink, a hybrid simulation platform of a multi-inverter grid-connected system is built, and the efficiency and accuracy of the hybrid simulation are validated via comparison with the full electromagnetic transient simulation. 展开更多

This paper proposes a robust dichotomy-based model predictive control(DS-MPC)with a fixed switching frequency for the grid-connected inverter(GCI).The proposed fast dichotomy algorithm can select and deduce the optimal voltage vector dynamically through the space vector plane.Therefore,the proposed DS-MPC strategy could ensure dynamic performance and steady-state performance as well.Also,the current control robustness can be improved through DS-MPC with disturbance observer(DO)based on the extended Kalman filter(EKF).The novelty of this control is that the current control with fast dynamic response can be realized in the weak grid,even if the grid voltages are greatly distorted.Simulation and hardware experiments on the weak grid validate the effectiveness of the proposed DS-MPC with the EKF observer approach. 展开更多

The mathematical model of the grid-connected inverter is deduced firstly. Then, the space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) is analyzed. The power factor can be controlled close to unity, leading or lagging, which is realized based on H-type current controller and grid voltage vector-oriented control. The control strategy is verified by the simulation and experimental results with a good sinusoidal current, a small harmonic component and a fast dynamic response. 展开更多

Nowadays,the single state inverter for the grid-connected photovoltaic(PV)systems is becoming more and more popular as they can reduce circuit complexity resulting in less power losses of the inverter.This paper focuses on the use of model predictive control(MPC)to control a 3-phase and 2-level single-state grid-connected inverter in order to regulate the PV maximum power point(MPP).The algorithm of MPC scheme was done to measure the simultaneous current signal including predicting the next sampling current flow.The reference current(Id∗)was used to control the distribution of electrical power from the solar cell to the grid.To be able to control the maximum power point tracking(MPPT)when the sunlight suddenly changes,so that a developing MPPT based on estimation current perturbation and observation(ECP&O-MPPT)technique was used to control the reference current.This concept was experimented by using MATLAB/Simulink software package.The proposed technique was tested and compared with the old technique.The simulation results showed that the developed MPPT technique can track the MPP faster when the light changes rapidly under 1,000W/m2,25℃ standard climatic conditions.The MPPT time was 0.015 s.The total harmonic distortion(THD)was 2.17%and the power factor was 1. 展开更多

The verification model of the probability of small error will help to check the accuracy of the gray forecast results. The proposed method overcame the flaws of loss increase, efficiency reduce and cost increase which were caused by damping resistance in LCL type grid-connected inverter, the system efficiency and power supply quality of the output were improved. In the process of grid-connected photovoltaic power generation,there are high requirements for the quality of the power that the inverter breaks into the grid.In this work,to improve the power quality of the grid-connected inverter into the grid,and the output of the system can meet the grid-connected requirements more quickly and accurately,we exhibit an approach toward establishing a mixed logical dynamical(MLD)model where logic variables were introduced to switch dynamics of the single-phase photovoltaic inverters.Besides,based on the model,our recent efforts in studying the finite control set model predictive control(FCS-MPC)and devising the output current full state observer are exciting for several advantages,including effectively avoiding the problem of the mixed-integer quadratic programming(MIQP),lowering the THD value of the output current of the inverter circuit,improving the quality of the power that the inverter breaks into the grid,and realizing the current output and the grid voltage same frequency and phase to meet grid connection requirements.Finally,the effectiveness of the mentioned methods is verified by MATLAB/Simulink simulation. 展开更多

As the proportion of renewable energy power generation continues to increase,the number of grid-connected microgrids is gradually increasing,and geographically adjacent microgrids can be interconnected to form a Micro-Grid Community(MGC).In order to reduce the operation and maintenance costs of a single micro grid and reduce the adverse effects caused by unnecessary energy interaction between the micro grid and the main grid while improving the overall economic benefits of the micro grid community,this paper proposes a bi-level energy management model with the optimization goal of maximizing the social welfare of the micro grid community and minimizing the total electricity cost of a single micro grid.The lower-level model optimizes the output of each equipment unit in the system and the exchange power between the system and the external grid with the goal of minimizing the operating cost of each microgrid.The upper-level model optimizes the goal ofmaximizing the socialwelfare of themicrogrid.Taking amicrogrid community with four microgrids as an example,the simulation analysis shows that the proposed optimization model is beneficial to reduce the operating cost of a single microgrid,improve the overall revenue of the microgrid community,and reduce the power interaction pressure on the main grid. 展开更多

This document presents the evaluation and the monitoring of the performances of the first grid-connected photovoltaic system installed in the Center of Studies and Researches on the Renewable Energies (CERER) inaugurated on December 4th, 2012 by the governmental authorities of Senegal and Tenerife. This mini power plant of 3.15 kWc is a perfect example of the political will of the government which is to reduce the production cost of the electricity, with the diversification of the sources of production, and the greater use of the other sources such as the natural gas, the coal, the renewable energies. The evaluation of the performances of the installation is realized by using the indicators of efficiency and performance as the photovoltaic surface yield, the ratio of photovoltaic performance, the photovoltaic specific yield, and the losses of captures. The obtained results show that a big part of the energy shone during the period of observation was not able to be used further to circumstances such as the losses of conductivity, the heat losses or for example the defects on components. The analysis also shows that a large part of the produced energy is not injected because of the dilapidation of the network, the defects of landing but especially one disjunction sees frequently at the level of the point of injection. 展开更多

Integration of Solar Photovoltaic (PV) generation into an existing distribution system has many impacts on the system, with the power flow being one of the major issues. This impact is not generic for any network, but it may manifest itself either positively or negatively, depending on the grid configuration, interface control modes, operation mode, and load profile. Grid-connected PV systems have three control options of the local voltage controller of the interface DC-AC converter. These control modes are Power Factor control, voltage control, and Droop Voltage control. This paper aims at evaluating and comparing the impacts of those control modes on the grid power flow. A set of evaluation criteria and indices is defined and mathematically formulated. Based on the requirements of the used program (Power Factory Dig Silent V14.1.3), a computation plan (algorithm) has been proposed. The algorithm has been applied to a typical weak network and a wide range of simulations has been carried out. The photovoltaic grid-connected inverter is an important interface between the photovoltaic power generation system and power grid.Its high-quality operation is directly related to the output power quality of the power grid.In order to further optimize the control effect of the quasi-Z source grid-connected photovoltaic inverter,a fuzzy proportional complex integral control(PCI)method is proposed for the current internal loop control.This method can eliminate the steady-state error,and has the characteristic of zero steady-state error adjustment for the AC disturbance signal of a specific frequency.The inductance-capacitance-inductance(LCL)filter is adopted in the grid-connected circuit,and the feedback capacitive current is taken as the control variable of the inner loop to form the active damping control method,which can not only effectively suppress the resonance of the LCL circuit,but also significantly inhibit the high-order harmonics in the grid-connected current.Finally,a system simulation model is built in MATLAB/Simulink to verify the superiority and effectiveness of the proposed method. 展开更多

This paper firstly presents an equivalent coupling circuit modeling of multi-parallel inverters in microgrid operating in grid-connected mode. By using the model, the coupling resonance phenomena are explicitly investigated through the mathematical approach, and the intrinsic and extrinsic resonances exist widely in microgrid.Considering the inverter own reference current, other inverters reference current, and grid harmonic voltage, the distributions of resonance peaks with the growth in the number of inverters are obtained. Then, an active damping control parameter design method is proposed to attenuate coupling resonance, and the most salient feature is that the optimal range of the damping parameter can be easily located through an initiatively graphic method. Finally,simulations and experiments verify the validity of the proposed modeling and method. 展开更多

Impedance analysis is an effective method to analyze the oscillation issue associated with grid-connected photovoltaic systems.However,the existing impedance modeling of a gridconnected photovoltaic inverter usually only considers the effect of a single perturbation frequency,ignoring the coupling frequency response between the internal control loops of a grid-connected inverter,which severely affects the accuracy of the stability analysis.Hence,a method of impedance modeling and stability analysis for grid-connected photovoltaic inverters considering cross-coupling frequency is proposed in this paper.First,the generation mechanism of frequency coupling in gridconnected photovoltaic inverters,and the relationship between the coupling frequency and perturbation frequency are analyzed.Secondly,a sequence impedance model of grid-connected photovoltaic systems considering the coupling frequency is established by using the harmonic linearization method.The impact of DC bus voltage control strategy on frequency coupling characteristics of a grid-connected photovoltaic system is evaluated,and the impact of a coupling frequency term on system stability is quantitatively analyzed.Finally,the advantages of the proposed method are verified by several simulations.The results show that the proposed impedance model can accurately predict the potential resonance points of the system,and the coupling frequency characteristics will become much stronger with smaller DC bus capacitance or larger bandwidth of the DC bus controller. 展开更多

When the power grid suffers from grid faults that cause phase disturbances,the grid-connected converter becomes destabilized by the interaction between the phase-locked loop(PLL)and the control loop.In this paper,the stability of the PLL affected by the control loop under transient grid faults is studied.First,the equivalent model of the PLL under the influence of the control loop is established.Then,different response processes of PLLs under the ground fault with various control parameters are qualitatively analyzed.Furthermore,a small-signal model is proposed to assess the stability of the PLL under different control loop parameters.The system poles can be calculated to show the physical origin of the instability.Finally,simulations of a three-phase 21-level modular multilevel converter(MMC)built in PSCAD and a down-scale experiment is performed to verify the parameter influence of the control loop on the PLL. 展开更多

The power grid in a typical micro distribution system is non-ideal,presenting itself as a voltage source with significant impedance.Thus,grid-connected converters interact with each other via the non-ideal grid.In this study,we consider the practical scenario of voltage-source converters connected to a three-phase voltage source with significant impedance.We show that stability can be compromised in the interacting converters.Specifically,the stable operating regions in selected parameter space may be reduced when grid-connected converters interact under certain conditions.In this paper,we develop bifurcation boundaries in the parameter space with respect to Hopftype instability.A small-signal model in the dq-frame is adopted to analyze the system using an impedance-based approach.Moreover,results are presented in design-oriented forms so as to facilitate the identification of variation trends of the parameter ranges that guarantee stable operation. 展开更多
