A trigger system is typically employed in active seismic testing to trigger and synchronize multichannel surface wave data acquisition.The effect of the trigger system on the dispersion image of surface waves is empirically known to be negligible,however,theoretical explanation regarding the effect of the trigger system is insufficient.This study systematically examines the theory for surface wave dispersion analysis and proves that the effect of the trigger system on a dispersion image is negligible via a solid theoretical explanation.Subsequently,based on the new theoretical explanation,an alternative method that uses only the relative phase difference between sensors to extract dispersion characteristics with better conceptual clarity is proposed.Two active surface wave testing cases are considered to validate the theory and method.The results indicate that(1)an accurate trigger system is not necessary for surface wave data acquisition,and(2)it is unnecessary to assume that the impact point is the generation point of the surface waves for the experimental dispersion analysis. 展开更多

The exact solutions for the propagation of Love waves in one-dimensional(1D)hexagonal piezoelectric quasicrystal(PQC)nanoplates with surface effects are derived.An electro-elastic model is developed to investigate the anti-plane strain problem of Love wave propagation.By introducing three shape functions,the wave equations and electric balance equations are decoupled into three uncorrelated problems.Satisfying the boundary conditions of the top surface on the covering layer,the interlayer interface,and the matrix,a dispersive equation with the influence of multi-physical field coupling is provided.A surface PQC model is developed to investigate the surface effects on the propagation behaviors of Love waves in quasicrystal(QC)multilayered structures with nanoscale thicknesses.A novel dispersion relation for the PQC structure is derived in an explicit closed form according to the non-classical mechanical and electric boundary conditions.Numerical examples are given to reveal the effects of the boundary conditions,stacking sequence,characteristic scale,and phason fluctuation characteristics on the dispersion curves of Love waves propagating in PQC nanoplates with surface effects. 展开更多

We propose to use wavelength modulation approach,i.e.,the spectroscopy of a surface plasmon in the frequency domain,to characterize the optical dispersion property of gold film.Using this method,we determine the dispersion relationship of gold film in a wavelength range from 537.12 nm to 905.52 nm,and our results accord well with the reported results by other authors.This method is particularly suited for studying the optical dispersion properties of thin metal films,because a series of dielectric constants over a wide spectral range can be determined simultaneously via only a single scan of the incident angle,thereby avoiding the repeated measurements required when using the angular modulation approach. 展开更多

Contaminants that are floating on the surface of the ocean are subjected to the action of random waves.In the literature,it has been asserted by researchers that the random wave action will lead to a dispersion mechanism through the induced Stokes drift,and that this dispersion mechanism may have the same order of significance comparable with the others means due to tidal currents and wind.It is investigated whether or not surface floating substances will disperse in the random wave environment due to the induced Stokes drift.An analytical derivation is first performed to obtain the drift velocity under the random waves.From the analysis,it is shown that the drift velocity is a time-independent value that does not possess any fluctuation given a specific wave energy spectrum.Thus,the random wave drift by itself should not have a dispersive effect on the surface floating substances.Experiments were then conducted with small floating objects subjected to P-M spectral waves in a laboratory wave flume,and the experimental results reinforced the conclusion drawn. 展开更多

The dispersion relations of the two modes are obtained. Due to the nonlinear dielectric, the magnitude of the electric field at the interface appears and alters the dispersion relations. Phonon dispersion on Ag(100)surface:A modified analytic embedded atom method study

Within the harmonic approximation, the analytic expression of the dynamical matrix is derived based on the modified analytic embedded atom method (MAEAM) and the dynamics theory of surface lattice. The surface phonon dispersions along three major symmetry directionsX,M, and X(v) are calculated for the clean Ag (100) surface by using our derived formulas. We then discuss the polarization and localization of surface modes at points X and by plotting the squared polarization vectors as a function of the layer index. The phonon frequencies of the surface modes calculated by MAEAM are compared with the available experimental and other theoretical data. It is found that the present results are generally in agreement with the referenced experimental or theoretical results, with a maximum deviation of 10.4%. The agreement shows that the modified analytic embedded atom method is a reasonable many-body potential model to quickly describe the surface lattice vibration. It also lays a significant foundation for studying the surface lattice vibration in other metals. 展开更多

Moreover, neglecting the high symmetry of the hyperbola, both the branches have been approximated on the asymmetric surfaces composed of a pair of a branch of the hyperbola and a vertex of the ellipse without the presentation of reasonable evidence. Based upon the same dispersion surfaces equation, a new original gapless dispersion surfaces could be rigorously introduced without crude omission of even a term in the bi-quadratic equation based upon usual analogy with the extended band theory of solid as the close approximation to the truth. 展开更多

Surface coating facilities are major sources of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in urban areas. These VOCs can contribute to ground-level ozone formation, and many are hazardous air pollutants (HAPs), including xylene, ethylbenzene, and toluene. This project was conducted in order to provide information for updating the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), USA, permit by rule for Surface Coating Facilities. Project objectives were: 1) To develop a database of information regarding surface coating facilities in Texas;2) To estimate maximum emission rates for various VOC species from surface coating facilities in Texas;3) To conduct dispersion modeling to estimate off-site impacts from surface coating facilities. The database was developed using 286 TCEQ permit files authorizing surface coating facilities in Texas during 2006 and 2007. The database was designed to include information important for estimating emission rates, and for using as inputs to the dispersion model. Hourly and annual emissions of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), particulate matter (PM), and exempt solvents (ES) were calculated for each permitted entity/ company in the database, according to equations given by TCEQ. Dispersion modeling was then conducted for 3 facility configurations (worst-case stack height, good practice stack height, and fugitive emissions), for urban and rural dispersion parameters, for 8-hour and 24-hour operating scenarios, and for 1-hour, 24-hour, and annual averaging times, for a total of 36 scenarios. The highest modeled concentrations were for the worst-case stack height, rural dispersion parameters, 24-hour operation scenario, and 1-hour averaging time. 108 specific chemical species, which are components of surface coatings, were identified as candidates for further health impacts review. 展开更多

Using the seismic records of 83 temporary and 17 permanent broadband seismic stations deployed in Tangshan earthquake region and its adjacent areas(39°N–41.5°N,115.5°E–119.5°E),we conducted a nonlinear joint inversion of receiver functions and surface wave dispersion.We obtained some detailed information about the Tangshan earthquake region and its adjacent areas,including sedimentary thickness,Moho depth,and crustal and upper mantle S-wave velocity.Meanwhile,we also obtained the vP/vS structure along two sections across the Tangshan region.The results show that:(1)the Moho depth ranges from 30 km to 38 km,and it becomes shallower from Yanshan uplift area to North China basin;(2)the thickness of sedimentary layer ranges from 0 km to 3 km,and it thickens from Yanshan uplift region to North China basin;(3)the S-wave velocity structure shows that the velocity distribution of the upper crust has obvious correlation with the surface geological structure,while the velocity characteristics of the middle and lower crust are opposite to that of the upper crust.Compared with the upper crust,the heterogeneity of the middle and lower crust is more obvious;(4)the discontinuity of Moho on the two sides of Tangshan fault suggests that Tangshan fault cut the whole crust,and the low vS and high vP/vS beneath the Tangshan earthquake region may reflect the invasion of mantle thermal material through Tangshan fault. 展开更多

To study the damage to an elastic cylinder immersed in fluid, a model of an elastic cylinder wrapped with a porous medium immersed in fluid is designed. This structure can both identify the properties of guided waves in a more practical model and address the relationship between the cylinder damage degree and the surface and surrounding medium. The principal motivation is to perform a detailed quantitative analysis of the longitudinal mode and flexural mode in an elastic cylinder wrapped with a porous medium immersed in fluid. The frequency equations for the propagation of waves are derived each for a pervious surface and an impervious surface by employing Biot theory. The influences of the various parameters of the porous medium wrapping layer on the phase velocity and attenuation are discussed. The results show that the influences of porosity on the dispersion curves of guided waves are much more significant than those of thickness,whereas the phase velocity is independent of the static permeability. There is an apparent “mode switching” between the two low-order modes. The characteristics of attenuation are in good agreement with the results from the dispersion curves.This work can support future studies for optimizing the theory on detecting the damage to cylinder or pipeline. 展开更多

The properties of surface magnetoplasmon polaritons(SMPPs)in a symmetric structure,composed of two semi-infinite regions of high-density two-dimensional electron gas(2DEG)separated by a thin film in Voigt configuration,are investigated.The normal and absorption dispersion relations for the transverse magnetic polarization are derived by correlating Maxwell’s equation and the boundary conditions.It is demonstrated that the features of SMPPs are greatly influenced by the external magnetic field,collision frequency of 2DEG,the dielectric constant,and the thickness of the thin film,suggesting that the locations and propagation lengths of SMPPs can be governed accordingly.It is shown that the symmetry of the physical geometry preserves the symmetry of the dispersion relations of SMPPs.Furthermore,it is discovered that as the external magnetic field increases,the penetration depth of SMPPs decreases,while their energy loss reduces,implying that plasmons can propagate for longer distances.Additionally,it is observed that SMPPs in the symmetric configuration have a longer lifetime than those in the asymmetric configuration. 展开更多

Dispersion copolymerization of acrylonitrile-vinyl acetate(AN-VAc) has been successfully performed in supercritical carbon dioxide(ScCO2) with a series of lipophilic/CO2-philic diblock copolymers,such as poly(styrene-r-acrylonitrile)-b-poly(1,1,2,2-tetrahydroperfluorooctyl methacrylate)(PSAN-b-PFOMA),as steric stabilizers.The structure and the particle morphology of the product were characterised by FT-IR and SEM.In addition,the effects of the stabilizer on the surface properties of the products were investigated in detail.Results indicate that the surface free energy of the poly(AN-r-VAc)(PAVAc) film decreases dramatically because of the existence of the stabilizer.And,when the initial concentration of the monomer was 10%(the mass(g) of monomer to the volume(mL) of ScCO2) the optimal concentration of the stabilizer is about 5%(w/w% to monomers). 展开更多

Paracetamol (PCM) is enlisted in the WHO model list as an essential medicine for pain and palliative care, but at overdose, it causes hepatic damage. This study was designed to assess the analgesic efficacy and hepatoprotective property of a solid dispersion (SD) loaded with PCM. A number of PCM loaded formulations (PSDs) were fabricated using silica alone or in combination with polyethylene glycol and/or Na-citrate followed by in-vitro dissolution profiling. Selected PSDs with improved dissolution profile were subjected to solid-state characterization (DSC, PXRD, FTIR, and SEM), stability study along with investigation of in-vivo analgesic efficacy and effect on hepatocytes. Among these, PSD10 showed a rapid and significantly higher in-vitro drug release than pure PCM. This improvement was distinct to other PSDs also. Solid-state characterization of PSD10 authenticated the conversion of crystalline PCM to amorphous form upon formulation. Subsequent oral administration of PSD10 in Swiss albino mice showed 1.44-fold greater analgesic efficacy than pure PCM at dose 30 mg/kg. Besides, at acute toxic dose, liver histology of PSD10 mice was comparable with NC mice indicating hepatic protection upon formulation, whereas the PCM mice showed extensive hepatic necrosis which was also endorsed by significantly higher values of SGPT, SGOT, and ALP than PSD10 mice. Finally, an accelerated stability study of PSD10 performed according to the guideline of ICH noticed no remarkable deviation in its dissolution performance as well as crystalline nature. Thus, this newly developed PSD10 may be a safe and promising alternative for pain management and palliative care. 展开更多

将多壁碳纳米管(Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes,MWCNTs)与间位芳纶(Meta-Aramid,PMIA)进行复合有利于增强PMIA力学性能,近年来已成为研究热点,但MWCNTs分散性差、结合力差还易脱落,限制了其应用。利用氨基改性碳纳米管(MWCNTs-NH_(2))... 将多壁碳纳米管(Multi-Walled Carbon Nanotubes,MWCNTs)与间位芳纶(Meta-Aramid,PMIA)进行复合有利于增强PMIA力学性能,近年来已成为研究热点,但MWCNTs分散性差、结合力差还易脱落,限制了其应用。利用氨基改性碳纳米管(MWCNTs-NH_(2)),同时将PMIA进行氯磺化改性(PMIA-SO_(2)Cl),使PMIA-SO_(2)Cl与MWCNTs-NH_(2)通过—SO_(2)Cl与—NH_(2)偶联在一起,并采用超声波辅助溶液共混的方法,制备MWCNTs-NH_(2)/PMIA-SO_(2)Cl悬浮液。采用静电纺丝法,制备MWCNTs-NH_(2)/PMIA-SO_(2)Cl纳米纤维膜。结果显示,PMIA-SO_(2)Cl与MWCNTs-NH_(2)的偶联作用明显增强了MWCNTs在PMIA基体中的稳定性,与改性前相比,改性后悬浮液中MWCNTs分散更均匀,平均粒径更小。与MWCNTs/PMIA及MWCNTs-COOH/PMIA相比,改性后MWCNTs-NH_(2)/PMIA-SO_(2)Cl纳米纤维膜的力学性能与过滤性能均显著提高。 展开更多

基于响应面法的基质固相分散萃取土壤中有机磷阻燃剂

有机磷阻燃剂(OPFRs)被广泛添加于商业品和日用品中,由于具有环境持久性、生物富集性和潜在毒性,已成为一种新兴的持久性有机污染物。因此需要建立能准确定量环境中OPFRs的检测方法。该文基于基质固相分散萃取(MSPD),结合气相色谱-串联... 有机磷阻燃剂(OPFRs)被广泛添加于商业品和日用品中,由于具有环境持久性、生物富集性和潜在毒性,已成为一种新兴的持久性有机污染物。因此需要建立能准确定量环境中OPFRs的检测方法。该文基于基质固相分散萃取(MSPD),结合气相色谱-串联质谱(GC-MS/MS)法测定土壤中10种有机磷阻燃剂,筛选对OPFRs具有高选择性的吸附剂,最终确定MSPD最佳萃取条件。该文基于单因素分析法考察了常见吸附剂(C18、PSA、Florisil、石墨化炭黑(GCB)和多壁碳纳米管(MWCNT))及其用量、洗脱溶剂及其体积、研磨时间对OPFRs萃取效率的影响。在此结果基础上,进一步利用响应面法(RSM)考察了3个关键因素(吸附剂用量、洗脱剂用量和研磨时间)以及交互作用对OPFRs萃取效率的影响。最终确定最优条件:吸附剂GCB,用量0.3 g;洗脱溶剂乙酸乙酯,用量10 mL;研磨时间5 min,此时10种OPFR的萃取效率为87.5%。在GC-MS/MS的多反应监测模式(MRM)下,以13C-PCB208为内标物进行定量。10种OPFRs在6个浓度梯度下,获得较好的线性,相关系数大于0.998。该方法的LOD和LOQ分别为0.006~0.161 ng/g和0.020~0.531 ng/g。在最佳条件下,加标土壤中OPFRs的加标回收率为70.4%~115.4%,相对标准偏差(RSD)为0.7%~6.7%。将该方法用于苏州不同功能土壤中OPFRs的含量测定,结果表明电子厂和汽修厂土壤中OPFRs总含量显著高于稻田土和校园土,电子厂和汽修厂土壤中主要污染物为磷酸三(2-氯异丙基)酯(TCIPP)、三苯基氧化膦(TPPO)、磷酸三(2-氯乙基)酯(TCEP)和磷酸三(1,3-二氯-2-丙基)酯(TDCPP),它们在电子厂土壤中含量分别为5.30、4.44、4.54、4.20 ng/g,在汽修厂土壤中的含量分别2.70、3.93、7.60、5.04 ng/g。目前关于TPPO的土壤污染报道较少,该研究在苏州工业区土壤中检出了高浓度TPPO污染。该方法成功用于土壤中10种OPFRs的检测。 展开更多

本研究以壳聚糖盐酸盐(CHI)和十二烷基磺酸钠(SDS)制备改性剂(CHI&SDS),采用浸渍法对BHM3碳纤维进行表面改性,以提升BMH3碳纤维在水中的分散能力。系统研究了CHI/SDS质量比、CHI&SDS改性剂质量分数及纤维长度对改性BMH3碳纤维... 本研究以壳聚糖盐酸盐(CHI)和十二烷基磺酸钠(SDS)制备改性剂(CHI&SDS),采用浸渍法对BHM3碳纤维进行表面改性,以提升BMH3碳纤维在水中的分散能力。系统研究了CHI/SDS质量比、CHI&SDS改性剂质量分数及纤维长度对改性BMH3碳纤维在水中分散性的影响,并通过X射线光电子能谱仪和动态接触角测试仪,对改性BMH3碳纤维化学结构和表面润湿性进行了表征。结果表明,BMH3碳纤维经过质量分数0.15%,CHI/SDS质量比=25∶1的CHI&SDS改性剂改性后,纤维长度5 mm的改性BMH3碳纤维在水中的分散率可达96.2%,相较于未改性碳纤维提升了87.5个百分点。改性BMH3碳纤维表面含氧官能团数量显著提升,水接触角明显降低,这是BMH3碳纤维分散性能改善的原因,也是成功实现高分散水性碳纤维制备的基础。 展开更多
