METHODS:A total of 62 patients(124 eyes) with dry eye syndrome treated in the Department of Ophthalmology of The 4th People's Hospital of Shenyang from July 2017 to March 2018 were selected and equally divided into 2 groups according to the admission order. The observation group received the combination therapy of TCM decoction and ear acupoint application, while the control group was given the simple artificial tears. The symptom score after 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 8 weeks as well as the indicators including break-up time(BUT), Schirmer I test(SIT) and fluorescein(FL) were recorded and compared between groups. RESULTS: The symptom scores had no difference before treatment(P > 0.05), and were better in the observation group than those in the control group after treatment(P < 0.05). At 2 weeks, 4 weeks, and 8 weeks after the treatment, the amelioration level of BUT, SIT, and FL indicators in the observation group was better than that of the control group(P < 0.05). CONCLUSION: Compared with the artificial tears treatment method, the TCM decoction combined with ear acupoint application can significantly ameliorate the tear film stability, tear secretion, and reduce ocular surface damage for dry eye patients.展开更多

METHODS: Eighty consecutive SAP patients, admitted for routine non-operative conservative treatment, were randomly divided into study group and control group (40 patients in each group). Patients in the study group received Da Cheng Qi Decoction enema for 2 h and external use of Glauber's salt, once a day for 7 d. Patients in the control group received normal saline (NS) enema. Routine non-operative conservative treatments included non-per os nutrition (NPON), gastrointestinal decompression, life support, total parenteral nutrition (TPN), continuous peripancreatic vascular pharmaceutical infusion and drug therapy. Intra-cystic pressure (ICP) of the two groups was measured during treatment. The effectiveness and outcomes of treatment were observed and APACHE Ⅱ scores were applied in analysis. RESULTS: On days 4 and 5 of treatment, the ICP was lower in the study group than in the control group(P < 0.05). On days 3-5 of treatment, acute physiology and chronic health evaluation Ⅱ (APACHE Ⅱ) scores for the study and control groups were significantly different (P < 0.05). Both the effectiveness and outcome of the treatment with Da Cheng Qi Decoction on abdominalgia, burbulence relief time, ascites quantity, cyst formation rate and hospitalization time were quite different between the two groups (P < 0.05). The mortality rate for the two groups had no significant difference. CONCLUSION: Da Cheng Qi Decoction enema and external use of Glauber's salt combined with routine non-operative conservative treatment can decrease the intra-abdominal pressure (IAP) of SAP patients and have preventive and therapeutic effects on abdominal compartment syndrome of SAP.展开更多

It was used to treat central nervous system diseases such as insomnia and anxiety for thousands of years. This paper aims to systematically understand varieties and quantities of compounds and clarify chemical components of SZRD, subsequently to further provide the reference for phytochemistry and pharmacology researches of SZRD. Our results showed that SZRD contained 145 components, including flavonoids, triterpenoids, steroids, coumarins, phthalides, and volatile oils, etc., while five-single herbs contain 1104 components. Only in terms of compound number, there were 80 common components in SZRD and its five herbs, which accounted for 6.8% of total compounds in all 5 herbs and 55.2% of compounds in SZRD. The components of SZRD were not simply the sum of one in every single herb. It is necessary to perform parallel studies among SZRD and its herbs. This review discussed the problems that existed in the chemical research of SZRD and pointed out the direction for its further research.展开更多

Stroke is the leading cause of human disability with limited effective drugs availability. The disruption of multiple signaling pathways in stroke makes developing new drugs be difficult. Traditional Chinese medicine(...Stroke is the leading cause of human disability with limited effective drugs availability. The disruption of multiple signaling pathways in stroke makes developing new drugs be difficult. Traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) has its unique advantage in targeting multiple signaling pathways with multiple components. Many TCM formulas have the potential for neuroprotection and neurogenesis, but well-designed clinical trials are insufficient and underlying mechanisms unclear. Herein, we introduce the commonly used TCM formulas for stroke treatment and selectively introduce two classic formulas, An Gong Niu Huang(AGNH) pill and Bu Yang Huan Wu Decoction(BYHWD) for neuroprotection and neurogenesis, respectively. Current scientific evidence and clinical trials indicate AGNH pill could be an effective neuroprotective formula as adjunct therapy with relative safety. On the other hand, as a representative TCM formula for post stroke disability, BYHWD could improve the neurological outcome with its neuroprotective and neurogenic effects. The underlying mechanisms could be attributed to the modulation of multiple molecular targets with its multiple components. In conclusion, TCM formulas could be potential adjunct therapies for stroke treatment. The clinical efficacies and molecular mechanisms of promoting neuroprotection and neurogenesis remain to be further studies.展开更多

In addition, the metabolic characteristics of LDH and ZKGC treatment were investigated with a liquid-chromatography with time-of-flight mass spectrometer (LC/Q-TOF-MS)-based metabolomics study. Nucleus pulpous tissues from rat models were collected and analyzed by metabolomics.[Results] By metabolism network analysis, lipid metabolism was up-regulated in LDH rat models and the treatment with ZKGC significantly reversed the abnormal up-regulated lipid metabolism. Meanwhile, the treatment of ZKGC also regulated the markers of neuron autophagy and inflammatory response in serum.[Conclusions] These results indicated that a complex mechanism, including abnormal lipid metabolism, associates with the progress of LDH, and multiple pathways might be involved in ZKGC s therapeutic effects on LDH.展开更多

文摘Traditional Chinese medicine decoction is a complex polydispersed phase system containing real solution, colloid solution, emulsion and suspension. The compound decoction of traditional Chinese medicine has complex components, including saponins, alkaloids, polysaccharides, flavonoids, amino acids and so on,which can be self-assembled to form gels, fibers, micelles, vesicles and so on.The self-assembled nano-phase not only neutralizes the single drug and reduces the toxicity and side effects, but also has its own pharmacological effects, which complement each other to achieve synergistic effect,so as to achieve the role of drug supplement, which is of research significance. The formation principle, solubilization and synergism principle and characterization method of multi-component self-assembly of traditional Chinese medicine compound decoction are discussed in this paper.
文摘Traditional Chinese Medicine prescription Suanzaoren decoction (SZRD) is composed of Ziziphi Spinosae Semen, Chuanxiong Rhizoma, Anemarrhenae rhizoma, Poria and Licorice. This review discussed the problems that existed in the chemical research of SZRD and pointed out the direction for its further research.

文摘During the late Qing dynasty(1840 A.D.-1912 A.D.),a large quantity of Western medicines entered China, which continuously impacted the traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)market and revealed the shortcomings of Chinese medicines. Some personages in the TCM community followed the trend of learning from the West, and attempted to reform TCM,with the improvement on decoction becoming an important aspect of this effort.Through debates and trials, the improvement on decoction underwent three stages of conceptual evolution:“taking Chinese medicines as the foundation and referring to the dosage forms of Western medicines”,“introducing Western techniques to serve the preparation of decoctions”and“integrating the theories of TCM and Western medicine to improve decoctions”.The study highlights the effective complementarity between modern TCM and Western medicine in the field of pharmacy, and provides valuable experience and support for the reevaluation of the value of TCM in contemporary society.

文摘Stroke is the leading cause of human disability with limited effective drugs availability. The clinical efficacies and molecular mechanisms of promoting neuroprotection and neurogenesis remain to be further studies.

文摘[Objectives] To study the anti-inflammatory effect of Wumen Zhike Gancao Decoction (ZKGC) on rats with lumbar disc herniation (LDH) associated with lipid metabolic disorder.[Methods] A rat model of LDH was established by implantation of the autologous nucleus pulposus from the coccygeal vertebra of each rat tail, and histopathology, immunohistochemistry and biochemistry assays were employed to evaluate the treatment effects of ZKGC. Meanwhile, the treatment of ZKGC also regulated the markers of neuron autophagy and inflammatory response in serum.[Conclusions] These results indicated that a complex mechanism, including abnormal lipid metabolism, associates with the progress of LDH, and multiple pathways might be involved in ZKGC s therapeutic effects on LDH.
