Systematic experiments were carried out for weirs with two different gear heights and eight groups of geometrical parameters. The impacts of various geometrical parameters of gear-shaped weirs on the discharge capacity were investigated. The following conclusions are drawn from the experimental study:(1) The discharge coefficient(m_c) was influenced by the size of the gear: at a constant discharge, the weir with larger values of a/b(a is the width of the gear, and b is the width between the two neighboring gears) and a/c(c is the height of the gear) had a smaller value of m_c. The discharge capacity of the gear-shaped weir was influenced by the water depth in the weir.(2) For type C1 with a gear height of 0.01 m, when the discharge was less than 60m^3/h and H_1=P < 1.0(H_1 is the water depth at the low weir crest, and P is the weir height), m_c significantly increased with the discharge and H_1=P; with further increases of the discharge and H_1=P, m_cshowed insignificant decreases and fluctuated within small ranges. For type C2 with a gear height of 0.02 m, when the discharge was less than 60m^3/h and H_1=P < 1.0, m_csignificantly increased with the discharge and H_1=P; when the discharge was larger than 60m^3/h and H_1=P > 1.0, m_c slowly decreased with the increases of the discharge and H_1=P for a=b 1.0 and a=c 1.0, and slowly increased with the discharge and H_1=P for a=b > 1.0 and a=c > 1.0.(3) A formula of m_cfor gear-shaped weirs was established based on the principle of weir flow, with consideration of the water depth in the weir, the weir height and width, and the height of the gear.展开更多

However, few of the present studies on tooth modification considers the influence of inevitable random errors on gear modification effects. In order to investigate the uncertainties of tooth modification amount variations on system's dynamic behaviors of a helical planetary gears, an analytical dynamic model including tooth modification parameters is proposed to carry out a deterministic analysis on the dynamics of a helical planetary gear. The dynamic meshing forces as well as the dynamic transmission errors of the sun-planet 1 gear pair with and without tooth modifications are computed and compared to show the effectiveness of tooth modifications on gear dynamics enhancement. By using response surface method, a fitted regression model for the dynamic transmission error(DTE) fluctuations is established to quantify the relationship between modification amounts and DTE fluctuations. By shifting the inevitable random errors arousing from manufacturing and installing process to tooth modification amount variations, a statistical tooth modification model is developed and a methodology combining Monte Carlo simulation and response surface method is presented for uncertainty analysis of tooth modifications. The uncertainly analysis reveals that the system's dynamic behaviors do not obey the normal distribution rule even though the design variables are normally distributed. In addition, a deterministic modification amount will not definitely achieve an optimal result for both static and dynamic transmission error fluctuation reduction simultaneously.展开更多

Through the development of models capable of reproduce the system behavior, research in this area contributes to improve gear transmission insight, helping developing better maintenance practices and more efficient design processes. A planetary gear model used for the design of profile modifications ratio based on the levelling of the load sharing ratio is presented. The gear profile geometry definition, following a vectorial approach that mimics the real cutting process of gears, is thoroughly described. Teeth undercutting and hypotrochoid definition are implicitly considered, and a procedure for the incorporation of a rounding arc at the tooth tip in order to deal with corner contacts is described. A procedure for the modeling of profile deviations is presented, which can be used for the introduction of both manufacturing errors and designed profile modifications. An easy and flexible implementation of the profile deviation within the planetary model is accomplished based on the geometric overlapping. The contact force calculation and dynamic implementation used in the model are also introduced, and parameters from a real transmission for agricultural applications are presented for the application example. A set of reliefs is designed based on the levelling of the load sharing ratio for the example transmission, and finally some other important dynamic factors of the transmission are analyzed to assess the changes in the dynamic behavior with respect to the non-modified case. Thus, the main innovative aspect of the proposed planetary transmission model is the capacity of providing a simulated load sharing ratio which serves as design variable for the calculation of the tooth profile modifications.展开更多

Design and optimization of a complete gearbox provide many requirements to the designer. The complex gearbox model consists of many machine elements (shafts, gears, bearings, housing, seals, and shaft-hub connections). The gearbox must be understood as a system with interactive parts. Firstly, a mathematical model of spiral bevel and hypoid gears with circular blade profile was established according to the cutting characteristics of the duplex helical method. Based on a hypoid gear drive, the tooth bearings and the functions of transmission errors of four design cases were analyzed respectively by the use of the tooth contact analysis(TCA), and the contact stresses of the four design cases were analyzed and compared using simulation software. Finally, the curvature radius of the circular profile blade was optimized. The results show that the contact stresses are availably reduced, and the areas of edge contact and severe contact stresses can be avoided by selecting appropriate circular blade profile. In addition, the convex and concave sides are separately modified by the use of different curvature radii of inside and outside blades, which can increase the flexibility of the duplex helical method.展开更多

It is directly based on the simulation of manufacturing process and completely different from the conventional modeling method. The loaded tooth contact analysis (LTCA) method is analyzed, in which the advanced surface to surface searching technique is included. The influence of misalignment errors and contact deformations on contact zone and transmission error (TE) is discussed. Combined modification approach on worm tooth surface is presented. By means of DDDM and LTCA, it is very conven- ient to verify the effect of worm-gear drive's modification approach. The analysis results show that, the modification in profile direction reduces the sensitivity of worm-gear drive to misalignment errors and the modification in longitudinal direction decreases the TE. Thus the optimization design of worm-gear drive can be achieved prior to the actual manufacturing process.展开更多

文摘For the purpose of obtaining satisfactory performance of the non-circular gear & crank-rocker & gear trains (NCCRG) weft insertion mechanism which was proposed in this paper, the ideal kinematic curve of this weft insertion mechanism was given, and the reverse solution models of this mechanism were established. A reverse design and simulation software was compiled based on Visual Basic 6.0 to obtain the mechanism parameters, including the pitch curves and tooth profiles of the non-circular gears. A test-bed of this mechanism was developed according to these parameters. The kinematic performance of this weft insertion mechanism was tested by high-speed video tape recorder with its corresponding video analytical software Blaster's MAS. And the test results were identical with the theoretical calculation. Compared with the conjugate cam weft insertion mechanism which is applied on TT96 rapier loom, under the condition of same weft insertion rate, the variation of acceleration of this mechanism is smaller. This novel weft insertion mechanism can meet the requirements of weft insertion on rapier looms with smooth and steady motion.
文摘Gears play an important role in mechanical engineering because of their moment and speed transmission possibilities. Design and optimization of a complete gearbox provide many requirements to the designer. The complex gearbox model consists of many machine elements (shafts, gears, bearings, housing, seals, and shaft-hub connections). The gearbox must be understood as a system with interactive parts. Next to the calculation of kinematics, load capacities and life times of single elements, aspects of load distribution and efficiency and noise excitation of gearboxes become important. The wide range of knowhow needed mostly cannot be covered by a small number of engineers. The development of automated calculation routines with understandable and comprehensive results is the goal for these research projects that lead to sottware-realizing solutions for engineers to efficiently design, calculate, optimize and verify gearboxes with minimal resources in terms of calculation experts and time.

文摘In order to effectively improve meshing performance of spiral bevel and hypoid gears generated by the duplex helical method, the effects of straight lined and circular cutting edges profile on meshing and contact of spiral bevel and hypoid gears were investigated analytically. In addition, the convex and concave sides are separately modified by the use of different curvature radii of inside and outside blades, which can increase the flexibility of the duplex helical method.

文摘The thermal elasto-hydrodynamic lubrication characteristics of the internal meshing gears in a planetary gear train under vibrations were examined considering the influence of the modification coefficient and time-varying meshing stiffness.Based on dynamic theory of the gear system,a dynamic model of the planetary gear train was established. The lubrication performances of modified gear systems under vibrations and static loads were analyzed.Compared with other transmission types, the best lubrication effect could be produced by the positive transmission.A thicker lubricating oil film could be formed, and the friction coefficient and oil film flash temperature are the smallest.Increasing modification coefficient improves the lubrication performance continuously but intensifies the engage-in and tooth-change impact. For the planetary and inner gears, the increase in the modification coefficient also leads a decrease in the oil film stiffness.

文摘The thermal elastohydrodynamic lubrication characteristics of a modified gear system under a dynamic load were investigated, including the influence of the modification coefficient and vibrations.Based on the dynamic theory of gear systems,a six-degree-of-freedom tribo-dynamics model was established.Thermal elastohydrodynamic lubrication characteristics of a modified gear system under vibrations and a static load were analyzed. The results showed that the positive transmission gear system exhibited the better lubrication effect compared with other transmission types.A thick lubricating oil film could be formed, and the friction coefficient between the teeth and the oil film flash temperature were the smallest. As the modification coefficient increased, the lubrication condition was continuously improved, and the scuffing load capacity was enhanced. The increment of the modification coefficient increased the meshing stiffness of the gear system but reduced the stiffness of the oil film.

文摘A direct digital design method (DDDM) of worm-gear drive is proposed. Thus the optimization design of worm-gear drive can be achieved prior to the actual manufacturing process.

文摘Objective N6-methyladenosine(m^(6)A)is a common epigenetic modification in eukaryotes. In this study,we explore the potential impact of m^(6)A-associated single nucleotide polymorphisms(m^(6)A-SNPs)on heart failure(HF).Methods Data from genome-wide association studies(GWAS)investigating HF in humans and from m^(6)A-SNPs datasets were used to identify HF-associated m^(6)A-SNPs.Their functions were explored using expression quantitative trait locus(eQTL),gene expression, and gene enrichment analyses.Mediation protein quantitative trait locus(pQTL)-Mendelian randomization(MR)was used to investigate the potential mechanism between critical protein levels and risk factors for HF.Results We screened 44 HF-associated m^(6)A-SNPs,including 10 m^(6)A-SNPs that showed eQTL signals and differential expressions in HF.The SNP rs1801270 in CDKN1A showed the strongest association with HF(P=7.75×10^(−6)).Additionally,MR verified the genetic association between the CDKN1A protein and HF,as well as the mediating effect of blood pressure(BP)in this pathway.Higher circulating level of CDKN1A was associated with a lower risk of HF(odds ratio[OR]=0.82,95%confidence interval[CI]:0.69 to 0.99).The proportions of hypertension, systolic BP,and diastolic BP were 48.10%,28.94%,and 18.02%,respectively.Associations of PDIA6(P=1.30×10^(−2))and SMAD3(P=4.80×10^(−2))with HF were also detected. Conclusion Multiple HF-related m^(6)A-SNPs were identified in this study.Genetic associations of CDKN1A and other proteins with HF and its risk factors were demonstrated, providing new ideas for further exploration of the molecular mechanisms of HF.
