The mechanical properties, electri...A novel process for manufacturing A1-0.70Fe-0.24Cu alloy conductor was proposed, which includes horizontal continuous casting and subsequent continuous extrusion forming (Conform). The mechanical properties, electrical conductivity and the compressed creep behaviour of the alloy were studied. The results indicate that the Conform process induces obvious grain refinement, strain-induced precipitation of AI7CuzFe phase and the transformation of crystal orientation distribution. The processed alloy has good comprehensive mechanical properties and electrical conductivity. Moreover, a better creep resistance under the conditions of 90 ~C and 76 MPa is shown compared with pure A1 and annealed copper, and the relationship between primary creep strain and time may comply with the logarithmic law. The enhanced properties are attributed to the grain refinement as well as the fine and homogeneously distributed thermally stable A1Fe and A17Cu2Fe precipitation phases.展开更多

The relationship between solid loading and viscidity in the process of iron base powder metallurgy was researched to obtain better microstructure and properties. The results showed that the viscosity of Fe slurries is obviously reduced with the increase of the dispersant. The suitable parameters are as follows: the solid loading is 61% and sintering temperature is 1180℃. The aluminum composition of 20Mn23AlV ranges from 1.6% to 2.45% ,which is significantly higher than other types of steel. According to the real condition of 40 t ladle in steel-making plant of Baosteel Special Steel Company, previous works show that the key factors affecting the ladle free-opening rate of high aluminum steel in continuous casting are:sand material, accessories baking, ladle nozzle cleaning, the process and amount of adding sand, and the rate of argon stirring during refining. Therefore, improving the ladle filler sand quality, baking all of the raw materials, controlling the addition of ladle filler sand, cleaning the ladle nozzle, and optimizing argon stirring during the refining process can resolve the problem of a low ladle free-opening rate of high aluminum steel caused by the long ladle time of liquid steel.展开更多

Through decades of research, special EVA film for V-process has been produced. The film has adequate elongation; its maximum is about 800% in longitudinal direction and 750% in transversal direction. The single width of the film is 2.8 m and the double width is 5.6 m, which is the widest sheet film for V-process in China. Sheets with different thickness ranging from the thickest 0.35 mm to the thinnest 0.08 mm can meet different demands in China. The film can be used not only for V-process of iron castings, but also for the manganese steel railway frog, steel rocking support and side frame castings for train and the steel bridge box for engine truck.展开更多

In this study, nanoparticles ...Al2O3-ZrO2 with a high level of hardness and toughness is known as ceramic steel. Due to its unique properties it can be used as a reinforcement in fabrication of metal matrix composites. In this study, nanoparticles of Al2O3-10% ZrO2 with an average size of 80 nm were used to fabricate Al matrix composites containing 0.5, 1, 1.5 and 2 wt.% of the reinforcement. The fabrication route was stir casting at 850?C. There is no report about usage of this reinforcement in fabrication of composites in the literature. The microstructures of the as-cast composites were studied by scanning electron microscope (SEM). Density measurement, hardness and tensile properties were carried out to identify the mechanical properties of the composites. The results revealed that with increasing the reinforcement content, density decreased while yield, ultimate tensile strength and compressive strength increased. Also, hardness increased by increasing the reinforcement content up to 1 wt.% Al2O3-10% ZrO2 but it decreased in the samples containing higher amounts of reinforcement.展开更多

Gr...Using agarose as a gel agent to prepare ceramics is a suitable non-toxic gel-casting method. The effects of agarose concentration and addition amount on gel-cast 3Y-ZrO2 green and sintered bodies were investigated. Green bodies were prepared by gel-casting using an agarose solution of a different agarose mass fraction including 3.0%, 3.5%, 4.0%, 4.5%, 5.0% and 5.5% with an added amount of agarose in the green body at a mass fraction of 0.7%, and using the agarose solution of a mass fraction of 4.5% with a different amount of added agarose including 0.6%, 0.7%, 0.8%, 0.9%, and 1.0% in terms of mass fraction. The green bodies were sintered at I 600 ~C for 4 h. The relative density, linear shrinkage, and bending strength of the green bodies, and L^e density, microstructure, bending strength, and fracture toughness of sintered samples were characterized and analyzed. Results show that comprehensive properties of green bodies made with 4.5% (in terms of mass fraction) agarose solution added to an mass fraction of agarose in the slurry at 0.6% were the best, of which the bending strength was 3.14 MPa, the linear shrinkage was below 4.3%, and the relative density is 57.3%. For sintered bodies, the best fracture toughness was 5.63 MPa m1/2, and the optimal density was 5.88 gcm-3.展开更多

In the present research, the ceramic material, i.e., zirconium, is coated on a hypoeutectic cast iron substrate to improve its corrosion and wear resistance. The substrate was coated with zirconium by sol-gel process as well as by the plasma spray process for comparison purpose. Results of the research indicated that the successful deposition of zirconium on the cast iron substrate by sol-gel deposition technique had improved both corrosion and wear resistance of cast iron. SEM analysis revealed that the coating was denser without any internal cracks indicating the soundness of deposition. Also, sol-gel process of coating indicated better wear resistance as compared with plasma spray coated cast iron. Thus, zirconium coating on the substrate has made cast iron sound (without any surface defects) along with excellent corrosion and wear resistance properties. This has made cast iron suitable for structural and automotive applications.展开更多
SAPO-34 catalyst with plate-like morphology was designed and synthesized for the first time, by the dry gel conversion method using cheap triethylamine as a structure-directing agent assisted with seed suspension cont...SAPO-34 catalyst with plate-like morphology was designed and synthesized for the first time, by the dry gel conversion method using cheap triethylamine as a structure-directing agent assisted with seed suspension containing nanosheet-like SAPO-34 seed. The latter played an important role in formation of SAPO-34 (CHA-type) with plate-like morphology. In addition, the yield of the product in the synthesis system containing seed suspension reached 97%, 15% higher than that obtained in the corre- sponding synthesis system without the seed suspension. Meanwhile, the plate-like SAPO-34 catalysts synthesized by this method exhibited higher selectivity to light olefins and longer lifetime in methanol-to-olefins (MTO) reaction than the traditional cubic SAPO-34 catalyst. This work provides a new technical route for green and efficient synthesis of SAPO-34 catalysts with improved MTO performance.展开更多

The effects of the reaction temperatures (1 200, 1 300, 1 400 and 1 500 ℃, respectively) and contents of carbon microspheres ( n ( C ) : n ( ZrO2 + B2O3) is 5. 0, 5. 5, 6. 0 and 6. 5, respectively) on the synthesis of hollow ZrB2 spheres were studied. The prepared carbon microspheres have smooth sugrace and good hollow structure by hydrothermal nitridation. Increase of reaction temperature and excessive carbon microspheres can greatly promote the formation of hollow ZrB2 spheres. In this work, we succeeded in the preparation of LiNb 1- x Ta x O 3 films on Si(111) substrates by means of sol gel process, and the usual sol gel process for the preparation of LiNbO 3 and LiTaO 3 films on Si substra...In this work, we succeeded in the preparation of LiNb 1- x Ta x O 3 films on Si(111) substrates by means of sol gel process, and the usual sol gel process for the preparation of LiNbO 3 and LiTaO 3 films on Si substrates was improved by adding a 33% aqueous solution of CH 3CH 2OH to the mixed sols of LiNb(OCH 2CH 3) 6 and LiTa(OCH 2CH 3) 6 . The crystallization behavior of LiNb 1- x Ta x O 3 films on Si(111) substrates has been studied. Highly c axis oriented LiNb 1- x Ta x O 3 films have been obtained within the tantalum composition range of \{0< x <0 33\}. Some factors such as the hydrogen termination of the silicon surface, the RTP annealing process that provides the unidirectional heat flow and the preheating temperature are discussed to analyze the crystallization of the c axis oriented films.展开更多

DTA TG, XRD, TEM and A C impedance techniques were used to investigate the structure, shape, and ionic conductivity of these samples. The results show that the range of solid solution formation is in 0< x ≤0 09, in which the conductivity of these samples raises with the increasing amount of RE 2O 3 (RE=Pr, Nd, Sm, Gd) added, and the diameter of the powders is about 100 nm. Compared with the conventional solid state reaction, the sol gel method needs low temperature and presents high ionic conductivity.展开更多
