Impairment of Continuous Insulin Delivery Therapy and Analysis from Graeco-Latin Square Design Model

The desire to deliver measured amount of insulin continuously to patients with type I diabetes, for glycemic control, has attracted a lot of attention. Continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion has seen some success in recent years. However, occlusion of insulin delivery may prevent the patient from receiving the prescribed dosage, with adverse consequence. An in vitro study of insulin delivery is performed, using different insulin pumps, insulin analogs and operating conditions. The aim is to identify incidences of occlusion due to bubble formation in the infusion line. A detailed statistical analysis was performed on the data collected to determine any significant differences and deviations in insulin delivery rates that might be due to factors such as: pump type, the set basal flow rate, insulin type, vibration, and possible insulin occlusion due to air bubble formation within the infusion line. Our findings from the Graeco-Latin Square design model show that there are statistical differences due to the devices, and statistical identifiable clusters are used to distinguish the devices. Such hierarchical models used to describe the analyses, include the flow rate, the pump types, and the activity level. 展开更多

The authors studied some excellent square designs in Inner Mongolia, China and even overseas countries, summarized the standards of "best urban squares" in vision, culture, craft, human-concerned design, science and technology, and then applied such standards in the landscape design of Central Plaza in Zhungeer Banner. Through analyzing surrounding environment and constructions, design schemes with regional and cultural features were created to provide references for designing better green square landscapes which can demonstrate local cultural context and regional cultures, are moderate in size, diversified in spatial form and closely integrated with the social life of citizens. 展开更多

Since the knotters on the Chinese rectangular balers are imported from outside of the country, Chinese knotters with independent intellectual property rights is far away from being closed. In order to harvest a large quantity of straw in a short period on the small-scale lands of China, basic requirements on the knotters are summarized. Mathematical model of the knotter is also determined uniquely. Furthermore, the ^-type-knots knotter equipped on the Chinese square baler to form the ~ type knots is designed. Knotting rate experiments of the qb-type-knots knotter on the test bench and in the wheat/maize straws covered fields are carried out to check the knotting performances of the knotter. The parameters of the formed knots are also tested. The experiments results show that the knotting rate of the qb-type-knots knotter reaches 100.0% on the test bench without straws, while reaches 99.6% in the wheat straws covered field and 100.0% in the maize straws covered field. The average maximum force in the knotting process is 194.7 N in the lab experiment. The length out of the knots formed in lab is 15.9%-20.6% lower than the knots formed in the field experiment. The breaking force of the knots formed in the field is 115.9%-167.2% higher than the knots formed in lab due to the higher preload and interactions with the compacted bales. Highly relevant relationships exist between the breaking force of the formed knots and the maximum force in the forming process of the knots in the lab experiment. The designed knotter breaks out the embarrassing situation of the domestic knotters which don't have independent intellectual property rights, and promotes the development of Chinese knotter technology, and the mathematical model is helpful for designing new type of knotters. 展开更多

Cyber attackers continue to attack organizational computer networks, as those same computer networks become increasing critical to organizational business process. Strategic planning and managing IT security risks play an important role in the business and government planning process. Deploying defense in depth security measures can ensure that organizations continue to function in times of crisis. This quantitative study explores whether the Latin Square Design (LSD) model can be effectively applied to the prioritization of cybersecurity threats and to the linking of information assurance defense in-depth measures to those threats. The methods used in this study consisted of scanning 10 Cybersecurity Websites such as the Department of Homeland Security US CERT (United States-Computer Emergency Readiness Team [1]) and the SANS Institute (SysAdmin, Audit, Network and Security [2]) using the Likert Scale Model for the Website’s top ten list of cyber threats facing organizations and the network defense in depth measures to fight those threats. A comparison of each cybersecurity threats was then made using LSD to determine whether the Likert scale and the LSD model could be effectively applied to prioritize information assurance measures to protect organizational computing devices. The findings of the research reject the H0 null hypothesis that LSD does not affect the relationship between the ranking of 10 Cybersecurity websites top ten cybersecurity threats dependent variables and the independent variables of defense in depth measures used in protecting organizational devices against cyber-attacks. 展开更多

This paper, with the Potala Palace Square as the object of study, uses the post occupancy method to carry out a field investigation in a joint manner of questionnaire survey, interviews and behavioral trails observation, so as to analyze the landscape destruction behavior of the Potala Palace Square. The results show that the existing problems in design and management of that square as well as the public are responsible for the destruction; male foreign tourists in all ages, who mostly are the unemployed, students and service employees, prove to be destructors. The Potala Palace Square is characterized by regionalism. Opinions on green effect, management and other options of inland public and local residents vary from one to another. Designers and the administrative department of the square are required to come up with countermeasures to avoid the destruction. In practical design, designers must comply with the thinking of "Design Must be for People" and natural ecological principles, and the administrative department should scientifically manage and maintain the square. 展开更多

Using the finite element method (FEM) in two dimensions and the CST MICROWAVE STUDIO? (CST MWS) Transient Solver, the electromagnetic (EM) analysis and the design of a novel compact ultra wideband (UWB) bandpass filter using rectangular coaxial cables with square inner conductors, convenient for high power applications, are presented. The design of the UWB BP filter is based on the use of impedance steps and coupled-line sections. The center frequency around 6.85 GHz was selected, the bandwidth is between 3-10 GHz, the insertion-loss amounts to around 0.35 dB and the return loss is found higher than 10 dB in a large frequency range (4-9.5) GHz. The simulated results of stopband performances are better than 15 dB for a frequency range up to 11 GHz. For the selected center frequency and on a substrate with a dielectric constant of 2.03, the rectangular coaxial cables BPF with square inner conductors is only 6.7 × 8.9 × 33.4 mm in size. 展开更多

For optimization of production processes and product quality,often knowledge of the factors influencing the process outcome is compulsory.Thus,process analytical technology(PAT)that allows deeper insight into the process and results in a mathematical description of the process behavior as a simple function based on the most important process factors can help to achieve higher production efficiency and quality.The present study aims at characterizing a well-known industrial process,the transesterification reaction of rapeseed oil with methanol to produce fatty acid methyl esters(FAME)for usage as biodiesel in a continuous micro reactor set-up.To this end,a design of experiment approach is applied,where the effects of two process factors,the molar ratio and the total flow rate of the reactants,are investigated.The optimized process target response is the FAME mass fraction in the purified nonpolar phase of the product as a measure of reaction yield.The quantification is performed using attenuated total reflection infrared spectroscopy in combination with partial least squares regression.The data retrieved during the conduction of the DoE experimental plan were used for statistical analysis.A non-linear model indicating a synergistic interaction between the studied factors describes the reactor behavior with a high coefficient of determination(R^(2))of 0.9608.Thus,we applied a PAT approach to generate further insight into this established industrial process. 展开更多

为分析配料(硫化物、糖)组成对高温芝麻饼粕蛋白酶解物(High temperature sesame cake protein hydrolysate,HTSPH)制备肉味香精的影响,首先固定木糖与HTSPH含量,考察5种硫化物如半胱氨酸(LCys)、甲硫氨酸(L-Met)、硫胺素(VB1)对美拉德... 为分析配料(硫化物、糖)组成对高温芝麻饼粕蛋白酶解物(High temperature sesame cake protein hydrolysate,HTSPH)制备肉味香精的影响,首先固定木糖与HTSPH含量,考察5种硫化物如半胱氨酸(LCys)、甲硫氨酸(L-Met)、硫胺素(VB1)对美拉德反应产物(Maillard reaction products,MRPs)的感官特性、挥发性成分、pH、褐变与糖基化程度的影响,随后对比木糖、核糖、半乳糖等9种糖与L-Cys、HTSPH反应得到MRPs的特性差异,最后,混料试验考察L-Cys、木糖、HTSPH三者组成对MRPs感官特性与挥发性成分影响。结果显示,不同硫化物形成MRPs的挥发性成分组成差异明显,L-Cys的MRPs肉味突出,感官评价得分最高(69.32±1.34)。对比不同糖的MRPs的性质组成发现,戊糖的MRPs中感官评价得分显著高于已糖的MRPs,其挥发性成分中富含肉香味成分,木糖是适宜由HTSPH制作肉味香精的糖类。混料试验表明L-Cys、木糖与HTSPH组成会显著影响MRPs风味特征。偏最小二乘回归分析发现22种关键挥发性成分。5-甲基-2-噻吩甲醛、二糠基二硫醚、5-乙基噻吩-2-甲醛、4,6-二甲基-1H,3H-噻吩并[3,4-c]噻吩、苯甲醛、2-糠基2-甲基-3-呋喃基二硫化物、2-糠硫醇与感官得分正相关。本研究为高温芝麻饼粕制备肉味香精提供理论指导。 展开更多
